This review is for Renee! She is awesome! I was skeptically of getting my first Brazilian done because I was afraid of the pain, but she made it very relaxing and easy. Theirs always going to be a little pain with Brazilians, but its bearable with Renee. Shes informative on everything she does to you before shes about to do it, and she always hooks you up in some way or another. If your going for waxing I highly recommend renee.

This review is based on Renee. I’ve been coming to her for brazilian waxing for over a year now and she’s great. She makes you feel at ease while talking to you the whole time, so there’s no awkward silence. The pain of waxing is minimal and she’s fast about it too. She’s hands down the best waxer I’ve been too.

I made an appointment with Grace to get my hair colored, conditioned with a cut and blow out. She did a wonderful job not only on my whole hair project but by listening to what my wants were. I was a little disappointed in the over all appearance of the salon and the lack of a private bathroom. Overall, my experience was really good and I love my hair! That is the number one priority in choosing a new hair stylist!

After reading all of the glowing reviews, I made an appointment with Connie to get lowlights in my platinum blond hair and a trim. Ms. Connie was punctual, polite, and after a detailed consult, she set to work. I was skeptical after a VERY quick dry snip-​snip. Her assistant (a very interesting and affable young man) helped Ms. Connie as she painted the lowlights. He washed and rinsed, nicely easing away the tension in my temples. Great experience.

Renee is the very best! Makes everything really easy and you feel really comfortable the entire time! She has a special for first time goers too! I don’t think I’ll ever go to anyone else.

This was my first time coming here to meet with Jenny to do my nails. The staff greeted me as soon I came through the door. Immediately asked who I was here to see and then seated me in that area. Super friendly!!! I think I should also let you know that I never get my nails done because I never saw the need to. But this experience was amazing!!! Jenny is so friendly and makes you feel very pampered and comfortable! She asked if there’s a special event or anything. She’s very easy to talk to and makes the experience fun! Her technique is fantastic because she takes so much pride in what she does, & she really wants you to like if not love what you’re getting. After we were done, she told me to please call or text her if my nails don’t last as long or if the paint starts to chip. I feel that’s pretty fantastic service to care that much!!! I’m super happy with my nails and my legs feel fantastic I’ve already made my second appointment with her for November. Please check her out!!!

I came here as a walk in to have my eyebrows waxed today after being turned away by another salon. Renee was great and was able to squeeze me in between her appointments. She did an awesome job on my brows and was extremely thorough unlike other waxers who just rush through the process. I’m glad I don’t have to drive across the island to get my brows done now. Will definitely be coming back!

Blown away yet again by Hawaii Kai Salon & Spa! Decided to try the Japanese permanent straightening for the first time. I have naturally wavy and thick hair & I was super nervous to get this done. The owner Connie is soo amazing! I called her 2x prior to my appt bothering her with questions and she was so kind and helpful answering them all. Now for the results: I AM SO HAPPY! When I took my first shower after getting it done and it naturally dried straight I wanted to cry of joy! I can’t believe I hadn’t done this process sooner, I would’ve saved myself so much time doing my hair! And I was proposed to a couple weeks after getting it done :) I am so grateful to you Connie & to your son for assisting! I am so sad that I am moving back to the mainland, but I wish you all the best with your salon. Everyone go see Connie!!!

This review is for Renee, the waxer, specifically.
She is SO sweet, it’s insane. Young, so it’s not awkward at all.
As pain free as a Brazilian can be, she does that. She is really professional. Uses wax that literally is almost pain free & a post wax gel that takes away any pain. So much so, that even my mom got her first one & is hooked now!
She’s located in the salon in a private room, so there’s lots of parking outside. She uses styleseat, so booking is super easy!
She’s definitely my new go to waxer! Thanks Renee!

It’s been almost two years and I still coming here. Brought both my children in and they got there mom approved hair cut.

I have been here a few times for the organic color and Connie does a great job. The color lasted longer than I expected and it didn’t burn or stink like color treatments I had in the past. I brought my elderly mother in law here too and Connie also took great care of her. She is very patient and meticulous. Price was fair and comparable to main land prices I have paid before. I would recommend this salon!

I’ve been looking for a waxer and stumbled across their groupon. My expectation was the regular wax but was very pleased once I found out that they use hard wax. Renee who is hands down the best waxer ever! She never fails to satisfy me with her outstanding service. She always manage to make things less painful and makes you feel comfortable. Very highly recommended.

Alex is a blowout magician! In its natural state, my hair looks like Merida from «Brave» and Carrot Top had a love child. But she has whipped it into silky shape three times now, the most memorable being a 1940’s vintage updo.
As for the vibe: it’s small and some of the staff can be all business, but they have always been efficient and helpful. Don’t go in expecting a quiet place with clients drinking lemon water and wearing plush robes, while listening to waterfalls. Do expect a good result at a competitive price in a convenient location for those of us in Hawaii Kai, with great parking.

This review is for Renee who completed a Brazilian Wax on me the other day. First off, I want to say that I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and my skin is much more sensitive then it usually is. That being said, this was the best Brazilian Wax that I have ever had (which is kind of an oxymoron because they are no fun). Renee took great care in making sure that I was comfortable and that the job was done to the best of her ability!
I will definitely be going back to her and hope that she never leaves Hawaii Kai!

This is a review primarily for Alexandra Roa, but let me just say I was pleased with my whole experience at this salon.
I would trade all the bells and whistles any day for a salon that makes me feel comfortable and is filled with genuinely nice people. This place was that.
As for Alexandra, she was a doll! I purchased a groupon and took the risk, boy am I glad I did. I would highly recommend the cut, color and condition experience with Alexandra! She listened to what I had to say and tried to give me the experience I requested. I even let her know that I like to leave the ultimate color choice in the hands of my stylist (after they hear my description), because after all they are supposed to be the expert.
I have to say, I was nervous going the groupon route to a very basic appearing salon, but my color and cut are anything but basic. The salon was comforting. I feel refreshed, renewed and thankful for finding this little gem and that little doll! Thank you, thank you Alexandra Roa!

On Saturday I called to make an appt for highlights and a cut. (I decided to try this place out because I was interested in purchasing the Brazilian wax Groupon) I was told that I could get in on Monday. Sunday, I missed a call confirming my appt for the following day.
This morning when I showed up, I was greeted kindly and told that the girl who was booked to do my hair forgot that she had an appt and didn’t come to work today. I was fine until Connie explained to me that she tried to call me to let me know, but they had the wrong number and someone else answered. When, just Sunday, they were able to reach me?
She said she had a girl’s highlights that she was going to do and then she would do mine if I didn’t mind waiting. Not a problem. She ended up asking another stylist to do my hair.
I sat in her chair and she gave me the attitude that I just had walked in and demanded a color service. I felt uncomfortable and felt the need to explain to her that I originally had an appt. She told me that she needed to go cancel her appt that was coming in in 30 minutes. At that point, I didn’t want anyone else’s day ruined over poor planning and informed her that it wasn’t necessary and I wasn’t going to stay.
Connie offered to give me a business card on the way out. Needless to say, driving all the way to Hawaii Kai from Aiea to have my appt cancelled was completely awful.
I would not recommend them to anyone and will not be purchasing the Groupon.

**MASSAGE ONLY REVIEW**
Located right in the center of the Hawaii Kai shopping center you will find this day spa. Nothing fancy, but with a nice staff and lots of parking. I highly suggest getting a massage with Krista! She is a woman of very few words, but is concerned about your trouble areas and will check up on you during your massage.
I receieved an hour massage for $ 50, an amazing price in my opinion and she works wonders with her hands. I was on cloud 9 during my deep tissue massage and the music was just wonderful. By far the best massage I’ve ever had. For the price, location, and quality of massage I would suggest this place to everyone!
