I have tried many smoothies and this café has the BEST! I have tasted the pineapple, strawberry, lychee and my favorite is the mango. Its like drinking a custard flavored mango smoothie. Its texture is on the just right — no to thick to drink. I never get tired of trying new drinks every weekend.(only draw back is having to find street parking) but its worth it!

Smoothies made with real fruit that you won’t find yourself paying more than $ 4 for a single drink??? Can’t get any better than that. Hangs is located right on Fort St Mall making it perfect for business people, HPU students, and people residing in the neighbor(including myself). Thank the bubble tea heavens that this places location is 3 min across the street from my apartment. I usually find myself ordering the mango smoothie because they make it to perfection every time I order it. You can also customize your own flavors of fruits into one smoothie! Their coffee blended smoothie is so good too and I’m not a coffee person. But I will have their coffee blended smoothie any day if I need that coffee. The owners are super friendly and provide awesome customer service(: The lady is super sweet !! Totally worth checking out if you’re a bubble tea enthusiast !! Make sure to order the mango !

Ever since Malon S introduced me to this place last year, I’ve been a huge fan! Granted, it’s kind of rare that I get a craving for smoothies or boba… but when I do, this is my go-to place. ;D Everything here is super affordable, ranging from $ 3.50 — 4.50(mostly $ 3.75), & I LOVE that nearly everything is made from fresh fruit! ;D Only 2 options seem to be powder-based, & those are clearly marked on the menu board. For about 50 cents more, they’ll combine any 2 fruits that you like, and they’re super nice about it too. =) Apparently they’d never been asked to combine strawberry & honeydew before I asked, but they were happy to try…& that is officially my new favorite combo! I also love that their boba is perfectly cooked every time: not too mushy, yet no hard bits in the center either, yay! Just as a heads-up, the wait time is typically about 5 minutes – seems like there’s always a line – & I think they only have one drink-size…it’s about the size of a medium Jamba Juice(which is just right for me). Also, the place is very small, and the sound of the blenders is loud & pretty much constant… so everyone basically gets their drink to-go(& you might even want to wait outside if you’re sensitive to noise). 0=) With those things in mind, I’d say Hang’s is the perfect little hole-in-the-wall spot, with a great product, value & service… so I’m a happy to support this small local business! ;D

I’m a huge fan of Hang’s! Love getting their bubble drinks whenever I get the chance. They use real fruit, which is a plus(I HATE powdered drinks, it just doesn’t taste the same). I usually like to order the mango smoothie or avocado/taro smoothie with boba. They only accept cash, but a drink is usually no more than $ 5. Staff is great and I think they’re starting to know what drink I’m gonna order since I go there A LOT(hehehe).

Probably one of my favorite bubble tea joints! I would highly recommend their blueberry taro bubble tea. It never fails! Either that or just plain taro, melon, pineapple coconut, or lychee with pearls !

Fresh fruit smoothies for a little less than $ 4. Not even comparable to places like Jamba Juice. They have the fruit in bowls and cut it fresh if they run out. Their blenders create a smooth, delicious, and super healthy drink to make you happy on a long work day.

This is the BEST bubble smoothie location in my opinion! The smoothies are always the right consistency & sweetness, the pearls are yummy & squishy and their customer service is very warm & welcoming! Love it, always my go-to for bubble smoothies!

So yummy and refreshing. There’s always a line so you know this place is good. This time I got the green tea boba drink and baby sis got the strawberry/banna boba. There’s a few stools along the window and a table with 4 stools towards the side

I love this place. The price is decent(each drink is no more than $ 5 can pay by CASH and Cards) There are chairs to sit and wait for your drink to be ready. The customer service is the best. They are professional and kind people. Look forward to my next visit

This is one of the only locally owned places I’ve ever seen that has a 5 star rating! It’s amazing! I never liked boba until I tried the kind at Hangs! It truly is a treasure tucked away in downtown Honolulu and one of the only things I’ll miss when I leave Oahu, besides the beaches of course.

Everything about Hang’s French Café & Smoothie is great. I have nothing bad to say. This is the best smoothie place I’ve ever been to. I just happened to stumble into Hang’s one day. First thing I noticed was the fresh cut up fruits on display in the front. Their menu has a huge variety of fruits. Some exotic fruits that I haven’t heard of before too. I’ve tried about 8 flavors so far and each one pleasures my tastebuds. The taste is right on point. Forget all those flavored drinks you buy from other places. This is the real deal. My top 3 has got to be Mango, Mocha, and Banana Strawberry. Yum! The folks who work here are very friendly. I’m always welcomed with a smile. There’s seating inside. I recommend getting your drink to go because this place gets packed on the weekdays. I guess it’s like the Matsumoto’s of smoothies. Does that make sense? Hmm. Well, you get what I mean. Hang’s is the best! As for the price range, it’s fabulous! I have yet to try that soursop that others have mentioned. Great job Hang’s ^_^

I feel so lucky to have Hangs French Café where the freshest fruit drinks can be enjoyed. Watermelon is my fav! Whenever I feel like a cold is coming on, these ‘Alkaline’ drinks HEAL and CALM my congestion and sore throat. Fort Street Mall makes it so convenient and Hangs is so popular that sometimes you have to wait for awhile… But Always Worth It!!! Mahalo Hang!

Boba boba boba. Love their boba. Especially their mango one(when it’s in season). They use fresh fruits for most of their selections and no powder or milk. Just straight up natural goodness. Their pearls are delicious — very soft, yet chewy and very full of flavor. You’ll notice a big difference in the quality of the pearls compared to other places. Finally their price is unreal. $ 3.75 for a mango boba. They could charge $ 6 and I’d still buy it.

TLDR: Must try the Mango, and the blended iced coffee!!! My favorite bubble drink/smoothie/coffee place! This is saying a lot, because I don’t usually spend on drinks and sweets. I’ve been coming at least once a week for the past two months, usually for the blended iced coffee, no pearls(boba): think vietnamese iced coffee frappucino(without all the added sweetener and calories). Tried a bunch of the fruit flavors; mango is definitely my favorite so far, sooo much mango flavor. Tried to blend it with the coconut powder once, but the mango was so strong it didnt change much!(Not necessarily a bad thing, but couldve saved my $ 0.50 i think~) I’ve yet to try avocado, but that’s next on my list; and eventually I’ll try the whole menu! Unless I only buy coffee… I’m addicted, sorry!

First time I came here I didn’t know they were cash only and had to sadly cancel my order and walk out! But today was redemption! Saw $ 5 in my wallet and knew that they were a CHEAP bubble drink place so walked gladly in. I ordered the Mango W/half bubble. Yeah, about that, I ordered half bubble because at other places, the bubbles are OKAY, but I don’t like a lot. I honestly wish I ordered the regular amount because their bubble tastes SO good and SO fresh. Mango season is here so the smoothie tastes AMAZING. I knew the fruit was real in most of the drinks but I was curious to see if they juiced it or cut the actual fruit slices in. the mango was distinctly sliced up in the blender :) I used to like Shaka Shaka but I’m loving Hang’s!

I love coming to Hang’s because you get FRESH smoothies without paying the price of an arm and a leg. My favorite thing about Hang’s is they can and will customize your flavor for you if you want something off menu. A friend told me that on his first trip there, he asked them what the most popular flavor was. I guessed it was strawberry taro, as it is the most unique flavor offered on the menu. Instead, the answer was, «blueberry taro!» BLUEBERRYTARO? First of all — who comes up with these taro combinations??? And second of all… it’s delicious! Just as delicious as the strawberry taro(I’m biased toward the strawberry tbh but the blueberry taro is a pretty color hehehe) As much as I love Hang’s, I can’t get over how overdone the boba is. I mean, I don’t mind too much, but I just wish it wasn’t(always) overcooked(and a little flavorless). :(

Question: Are all these«bubble drink» places in Chinatown & Downtown somehow connected, related, etcetera? Answer: I wouldn’t doubt it. Think: Six Degrees of Separation. I mean we all know each other. Somehow. Someway. In fact, I do know your husband, your wife, your daughter, your psychiatrist! Ok, maybe, maybe not. Stop getting creepy, you! Getting back to the subject of these«bubble drink» places I am certain that all have that«six degrees of separation» thing going on… Yup. Yes, I’ve been to «Thang», «Thang II» and now«Thang» is called«Thanh» and«Thang II» is aka«French Café». Gosh! So, now that I made this clear, maybe? Ok, makes perfect sense that these might be the same family, friends, acquaintances just with rotating names and the EXACT same menu and setup! Which brings me to… «Hang»… Oh c’mon now. Isn’t it obvious? Duh. «Hang» has shot it’s way up to the top of my «bubble drinkie» list! Yes, I know the menu is the same and the owners just might be the exact same owners as «Thang». Whatever! I now prefer«Hang» over the rest and here’s a few reasons why… 1. «Hang» is the same price as the other named places. So basically pretty cheap and well under $ 4 for a large cup of bubble fruity goodness! Correct me if I’m wrong, but seems the cup sizes are bigger here?! 2. «Hang» is conveniently located at Fort Street Mall in downtown, so if in the area and craving fruitiness — voilà! 3. «Hang» uses REAL fruit! Yes, I know most of the above uses REAL fruit too, but maybe it was my imagination — seems like«Hang» uses a tad more REAL fruit? 4. «Hang» has probably the cutest staff of the bunch. Yes, I know, I know… Very Asian, very shy, very nice, very ponytail, but it seems«Hang» has the cute bunch working! I do know my buddy, Courtney Y. will giggle on that one! So, I walked into«Hang» and ordered my lychee with«balls» aka«pearls» and asked the cutie with the ponytail if REAL lychee would be used — she assured me that REAL fruit is always used, unless it’s stated otherwise on the menu. Or, if it’s just way off-season than just use common sense. Duh. Although frozen can be used too, sure better than powder, I guess! Oh, I refuse to drink powered anything! Eww. Hey! At least 5 people ordered before me! No biggie. After a few minutes of grinding and grinding… «Lychee w/pearl(s)» is called out to me. Ah yes! She handed me my cold drink and smiled and thanked me! For a moment it was like when I receive a «Hot Stuff» compliment from some of you… Zsizzle! Anyways… I slurp my drink and BAM! I Immediately could TASTE that it was indeed REAL fruit! BAM! The«balls» were oh so FRESH — in fact, the FRESHESTBALLS I’VEEVERHAD! BAM! And of course, the super friendly and cutest service offered anywhere on Fort Street… BAM! So, there’s no question that… «Hang’s French Café & Smoothie» is now my go-to place for things FRUITY, FRESH, and BALLSY! BAM! Slurp some today! C’mon live a little wild, you;) Mmm. My fave place to come for my midday smoothie fix! Their fruit smoothies are smooth and juicy, not too icy, and their boba are perfect. Most of their smoothies are made with real fruit, and it is very fresh! I like that I can order mine unsweetened to make it a little bit healthier, too. The only downside is that they are cash only, so I always make sure I have some before I come– and enough for tip, because they are always so nice. My faves are the fresh honeydew and avocado banana– with pearls of course! Edit: Had to update 7÷27÷15. Thanks Hang’s, you’ve ruined every other boba tea place on the island for me. You guys are the best!

You know a smoothie place is good when you see fruit peels at the foot of the blender. Not only can you see them using real fruits, but taste it, too! Hang’s offers a wide variety of fruits that you can see in their refrigerated glass case and order in your smoothie: banana, strawberry, cantaloupe, papaya, watermelon, mango, and more. They even offer less common tropical fruits such as jackfruit, durian, lychee, and soursop. Though they do use powders for some flavors, I appreciate the transparency on their menu where they clearly state whether a drink is fresh or powdered(e.g. «fresh honeydew with pearls» vs. «honeydew powder with pearls»). Aside from a few powder options like honeydew, taro, and coconut, all of their fruit smoothies use real fruit. The smoothies are finely blended and smooth, not crunchy and icy like some other places might make them. The flavors are all deliciously sweet without tasting sugary, making their smoothies feel even more refreshing. Mango is my favorite smoothie flavor here, as well as my favorite fruit. I even ate fresh mango pulled from my uncle’s tree the day before I tried Hang’s for the first time, and their mango smoothie tasted just like it! The honeydew and pineapple smoothies also tasted sweet and refreshing, but they were slightly watery from perhaps a little too much juice. There was even some pineapple juice sitting at the top of my pineapple smoothie as soon as I received it. Though it’s not a very well-known fruit, I highly recommend trying the soursop smoothie! The soursop itself is creamy in texture, making for an especially creamy smoothie. It has a sweet and tart flavor, and it’s just an overall deliciously refreshing drink. I’d recommend this especially to tourists because it’s definitely a flavor you’ll have a hard time finding elsewhere, so take advantage of it in Hawaii! Bonus points to soursop for being an especially nutritious fruit said to have cancer-curing abilities. The boba balls themselves are consistently soft and chewy without being overcooked. Cost ranges from $ 3.50-$ 4.00, a price well worth the quality and large cup they give you. Out of all the boba shops in Downtown Honolulu, Hang’s comes out on top!

f.r.u.i.t.a.c.u.l.a.r. Hang’s blends up the most refreshing fruit smoothies on Fort Street Mall. He’s got a wall full of fruit flavors but the combination options are almost endless. Gimmie the avocado banana smoothie, or the taro blend, NOWAIT how about the mango lychee?! The smoothies are blended with real fruit and a sweetener is added along with tapioca pearls, which aren’t too soft or too firm. Sometimes I crave these drinks like a body craves fruits. I’m not saying you should always take your daily fruit servings in smoothie form, but it ain’t a bad idea!
