Prior to checking out the shop, Yoda answered all my questions via Unilocal messages. Not to sure if he does appointments but I know for a fact that walk-​ins he does. Went in today, showed him the problem with my iPhone and he told me to come back in an hour since it was an easy fix (bloated battery/​LCD screen popping out). Purchased my own battery from eBay to keep cost low. He went ahead and installed the battery for me, glued down the lcd and then cleaned up all the dirt that was inside.
His shop is real tiny, with just a few chairs to sit on, but! Ala Moana is just a few minutes away. Yoda was very friendly and explained everything he did to the phone. He kept the service pricing real low as compared to the other shops I got quotes from (from Unilocal also).
I’ll definitely do service with him again. 5 star for customer service, 5 star for location, 5 star for speedy service.

I broke my Samsung Galaxy 5S screen. Went to AT&T to get a new phone. My biggest concern with my broken phone was getting my pictures and videos off. The guy helping me at AT&T was nice, but not helpful at all. He was doubtful that I would be able to get things off my phone because the screen was broken.
I called another business to ask if and how they could help me retrieve my photos from my broken phone. The person who answered said the only way they could help me would be to replace the screen, which would cost me $ 200.
Called Gadget Guyz and spoke to Yoda who said that he could temporarily replace my screen so that he could unlock my phone and then I’d be able to retrieve my photos after connecting the phone to my computer, with my broken screen. He’d charge me $ 65 for the hour it would take.
Yoda and I had a really pleasant chat while he looked at my phone. He explained it would take a couple hours for him to unlock my phone (he was working on a wet phone at the time).
Within 2 hours, he called saying he unlocked my phone. When I got there, Yoda patiently went over how to download my photos onto my computer (I had brought my computer with me to make sure I knew what to do) and answered all my questions.
Yoda is a very cool, honest guy. I really appreciate that he thought out of the box to find a solution that got me the results I wanted in the most economical way possible, and NOT what would make him the most money or be easiest for him.
I highly recommend him if you broke your phone. Parking is free (lot is not that big, but I went in the middle of the workday so it was empty).

Great people and great service. You couldn’t ask for a more central location or faster service. The Gadget Guys use only high quality parts and still manage to beat their competitors prices. 5 star business!

This guy Yoda really knows his stuff. Take care of you quick if not immediately. Prices are reasonable and he is knowledgeable. Would recommend to anyone. Parking free in adjacent lot too.

My niece broke my nephews Ipad & Mr. Yoda was really awesome in his email responses through Unilocal.So I took it there Friday just before he closed & I let him know that I could wait for Saturday. Well he called me Saturday morning & he was very honest, stating that he couldn’t fix it because a chip was connected to the motherboard (brain) fell apart. So he waived our service fee & stated all he did was take off the screen. So he gave me 3 options; 1-​Was to fix it but the cost & labor would be more than the Ipad Mini itself. 2-​I could pick it up & sell it for parts so all I need to do is pay for the new screen which is $ 50.00. Or 3-He’ll waive the fee & he just keep the it. So after a long discussion with my sister, we decided to do #3. What I appreciated was how he presented these options in order & he was a very genuine guy about this. In the end… Would I go back to him??? Hell yes!

I have nothing but good things to say about these guys! Yoda (Terence) helped me specifically and he was amazing! My phone was bent and my screen was cracked, he replaced my screen and fixed my bend as much as possible for an amazing deal! I could not be any happier with my phone! I personally have an iPhone 5s and I am happy with my decision of going to these guys! Terence was awesome and we even had good conversation while he was fixing away my sad broken phone! I’m writing this review using my iPhone that Yoda just saved from oblivion. I foolishly thought I could change the battery myself, but in the process I accidentally ripped the battery terminal off the circuit board. Though I know how to do soldering on my own, the component on the phone is so tiny that it requires «micro soldering» skills, which he indeed has.
He was repairing several other devices before mine, but when he did get to mine it took less than 1 hour. Overall from the time I dropped my phone off until I picked it up was about 4 hours. That’s awesome service.
I learned my lesson. It’s better to leave this kind of stuff up to an expert. Mahalo Yoda!

This is an overdue review, but better late than never. While playing with my phone, I somehow jarred loose my SIM card, so I had no mobile service. It was also my first trip to Hawaii, so in this day and age, you really need to have a working cell phone to get around as a tourist. I went to the AT&T store, and they couldn’t help me, but referred me here to get my phone fixed.
It was a little hard to find since it was in a shack, but look for the Subway. Yoda was really helpful even though he was busy with all the work he had lined up. Since I was from out of town, I needed more of an urgent fix, and he got to it right away. He didn’t have the spring needed to keep the SIM card in place, but he Macgyver’d a solution to keep my SIM card in place to keep it working (still works today years later). Without his help, I don’t know how I would’ve been able to navigate my way around the island, so I am forever grateful for his help.

I have a Galaxy note 4 that needs a new screen. First I call the number & they answer the phone hello… if your a company or a business you should answer like one so people know they’re calling the correct number. Then I tell the person on the phone that I’m looking for phone repair (to insure I have the correct number) to which he replies, «Uh yeah that’s what we do». I tell him what I need repaired & he tells me «uh that’s an expensive repair» (which I already know but it’s not coming out of his pocket it’s coming from mine) then he tells me «Yeeeeah I’m not interested». Great customer service. Worthless
Update: just received a call from Gadget Guys stating the reason for his poor customer service is because I have a Puerto Rican phone number & they receive a lot of «psychotic» calls from people with PR numbers. 1. You are a business & you should ALWAYS conduct yourself professionally on the phone no matter the phone number 2. I am not Puerto Rican. My husband is active duty military & our numbers are both PR numbers so that my husbands family can easily contact us in case of an emergency but because I have a PR number I was discriminated against. A true shame considering this island has a large Puerto Rican decent population. If you are Puerto Rican or have a PR number I recommend you take your business elsewhere. We did & got great service REGARDLESS of where we are from or where our phone numbers are from.

Terence is a consummate professional. I brought my phone in Galaxy S3 I explained the problem, he gave me a quote what it may cost based on the type of repair needed. I came in around 1120am, he told me he was busy apologized told him no problem I understand. He told me to return at 130pm, he gave me some tips, I am guilty of doing those things hence the charging point problems. I will be sure to return to him in the future. He told me that eventually that mall will be developed wherever he goes he will have my business and I have recommended him to others in my office.

I am very tardy in posting this, sorry. I just cannot recommend Master Yoda and his business highly enough. I took two older phones to him and asked which would be worth fixing. He not only told me which, but took the time to explain why — even though he was about to close up for 15 minutes for a restroom break!
Due to a needed part not being in stock, I had to leave it overnight, but as I was using another (even older and worse-​off!) phone, that was no problem. He quoted me a price that was extremely reasonable, especially compared to buying a new phone.
The phone was ready at the time promised, looks and functions perfectly — it’s as if the damage to the LCD screen never happened!
I sent my daughter to him for an iPhone repair, and she has similar high praises (just not on Unilocal). Now my other daughter is contacting him, to see if he can help with her Blackberry… hope so!
The business is a little tricky to get to, if you approach from the wrong direction it’s nearly impossible to turn into the driveway. Master Yoda told me Dillingham is the best way, so the next time I took his advice and it was easy-​peasy.
Five stars are not enough! I will never take my devices anywhere else!

I took my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 here based off of the reviews I found on this site. I was having issues getting it to charge, so it was completely dead & I was beginning to panic, hoping someone could fix it for me. I took it to several places prior to taking it here, but was turned down several times. Apparently, a lot of electronic repair shops don’t deal with Samsung tabs because they have to solder the electronic components, so it’s not as easy to fix as the iPads. I gave him a quick phone call before driving into town to see him & he assured me that he could fix it for me.
It only took him one business day & he called me to pick it back up. Luckily for me, he had the part I needed in stock, which was the micro USB port (the place you stick your charger into.) He SAVED my life! Lol. I was expecting it to be over $ 100 based on other quotes, but it only turned out to be $ 82. «Yoda» was extremely courteous & knowledgable & even checked my charger for me to ensure that it wasn’t the reason my charging port was so mangled. BEST prices hands down & would definitely recommend this business to ANYONE who needed a repair of any kind on their electronics. Thank you Gadget Guyz!
PS: to people complaining about the prices… if your phone or tablet or laptop needs a repair… you’re going to have to pay a bit to have it fixed, no matter where you go. This has nothing to do with the integrity of the business. :)

Replaced my iPhone’s charging port in 30 mins! Super nice guys. «Yoda» is a very precise and patient man. Thankful for this business and their knowledge. I recommend anyone to them. Thank you Gadget Guyz.

Master Yoda! is awesome! A master at his profession and lives up to the name of being a true «Celluar Surgeon.» Fixed our iphone 6 in no time and we even like it better now then when it was brand new. We were surprised by his knowledge of cell phones. We know where to go if there’s a cell prob.

iPhone 6 screen fixed in about 30 minutes. Only con is that it is quite expensive. Average compared to most screen repair places though. Mine cost about 165

Absolutely thee BEST! My phone has been thru war & everytime I have went somewhere to save it… things just wasn’t right. I got ripped off, wasted my time & never got an honest awnser… until I posted on Facebook that I was looking for an honest place with reasonable prices to get my phone fixed. Well with a whole LOT of recommendations for this place and help from Unilocal,I have finally found the best place in town to get your phone repaired! Yoda is straight up & has shown me what the other guys had previously done to my phone (Mickey Mouse Action) & then showed me the work he did! His work is quality & he knows what he’s doing. Thanks Yoda!

Terrence aka Yoda is my go to guy for my cell phone repairs. I needed a quick screen fix on my Iphone 5s and was looking around. Visited two other shops at Ala Moana mall but they either didn’t have a screen in stock or their go-​to guy wasn’t at work. Go figure for a big business and space compare to the little shack Yoda has to work at (no pun intended). Small business like this will kill the competition. This place is bookmarked for future casualties.

High technical competence at a reasonable price.
I went to get the battery in my iPhone 5 replaced. They quoted $ 58 and 15 minutes over the phone, but they were in error. It only took around 5 minutes, but the tech (a Dana Carvey lookalike also known as «Yoda») wanted to let it charge a bit initially to see if things checked out. He noticed the reception bars weren’t indicating the connectivity the iPhone should have so he opened it up again — and sure enough, the connector to the antenna wasn’t properly connected. A tap restored and now the connectivity is better than ever.
Very happy about finding this place and I would recomment it to a friend without hesitation.

Dropped off iPhone 5C for screen replacement and got it back in 30 minutes. Easy location to find and friendly service. Price is competitive. Centrally located near 711 and Costco across from the convention center. Thanks Yoda.

As with all failed experiences, there are one or more lessons to be learned.
When it comes to cell phones: 1) do not leave it in your bag with any kind of liquid; 2) when your cell phone maker and carrier tell you that you need to get a new phone, don’t immediately take their word for it; 3) go see Yoda aka Terence at Gadget Guyz to see if he can remedy your phone before putting yourself $ 500 in the hole to get a new one! He charged me $ 68 to replace the home key button which was causing me all sorts of screwy problems!
Oh Yoda, you wise one. You truly are a lifesaver! If you find yourself in a similar unfortunate situation, you will know that is an understatement! Happy to give small biz guys like him deserving 5-​star reviews. First of the year to boot!
