Fujita Nathan G, MD

This guy found the cyst that was growing on my uterus and scheduled an operation ASAP. Ever since that day, he has become my regular gynecologist. He is incredibly friendly, but also to the point. Staff members were also very friendly over the phone and in person.
WARNING: Like a previous reviewer said, he will give you a rectal exam during your pap smear. He gives a bit of a warning before he does it, but don’t expect him to wait for you to be «ready».

I heard through a friend about the awesome experience they had with Dr Fujita during their delivery to their son so I really wanted Dr Fujita as my OB as well. I had Tricare Prime through the military and unfortunately you aren’t able to see civilian doctors so my husband and I decided that we are willing to pay a little extra to see a civilian doctor for personal reasons, and I switched to Tricare Standard which allowed me to see Dr Fujita who thankfully accepted Tricare Standard.
During my whole pregnancy Dr Fujita was very easy going and always made me feel comfortable which is key when looking for a doctor. The whole office staff are very kind as well. I came in three hours early for my appointment mistakenly and the lady at the front desk told me to wait and they will squeeze me in. They could’ve easily sent me away so i thought that was nice.
At my delivery I ended up getting induced at 41 weeks which was my choice. I had a feeling Dr Fujita wanted me to let baby come on his own but because my husband was deploying a week later I really wanted him to be there to see his son. I was induced at 7:45 am and gave birth at 7:45 pm to my son who was 8 lbs 5 oz and i didn’t tear which amazed me because with my last two i tore and they were both 7 lbs but i know its all thanks to the guidance i got from Dr Fujita and the nurse who were coaching me through labor. After such a wonderful experience I will be recommending Dr Fujita to anyone and everyone.

After having a horrible experience with another local OBGYN’s staff we are fairly qualified to say that Dr Fujita and his staff are exemplary.
From the first phone call, appointment-​setting, welcoming of the staff, access to the doctor, in-​office procedures and medical support have all been full of smiles and Aloha.
The atmosphere we want for our new family.

The jury is still out on Dr. Fujita. He will only will write my birth control pills perscription for 6 months, meaning I need to have an appointment every 6 months. I’m use to an annual exam being, well, annual. Not as thorough as my last doctor. No breast exam. This is the only doctor I see every year, so essentially he is my primary care physician. I mentioned that it had been 5 years since I had the normal blood work. He reluctantly tested my cholesterol level and fasting blood sugar, but none of the other exams. I keep getting letters from HMSA saying it is time for this test or that, so their automated system thinks he should do more routine tests, too.

He stuck his finger up my ass, literally.
No warning ahead of time, no reason or explanation as to why he was doing it, nada.
Granted, it was a finger that was covered with a latex glove + lubricated, but would’ve been freakin’ fantastic to be told ahead of time that he’d be sticking a finger up my asshole! It’s never been a part of my annual vagina exam.
I asked my new gynecologist why + she said it had something to do with my uterus tilting too downwards. Thus, to get a better feel for it, it required a finger up my ass.
The stuff wahines go through for our vaginal health! And for you men, too!
Otherwise, Dr. Fujita was freakin’ quick with the vagina exam! Da fastest one I’ve ever had. It was performed with him + a female assistant in a private room (she was there the whole time). Quick, easy, painless.
Minus an unexplained, unacknowledged finger up my ass.

Dr. Fujita is the only one that has free reign access to my private parts — no questions asked, without hesitation and no expectation of an emotional connection. Get naked? No problem!
Dr. Fujita is THE only OB-​GYN that I’ve ever been to, since I first went to him when I was 18. We won’t say how long I’ve been going to him since I don’t want all you math wizards subconsciously figuring out my age. From the very first appointment to my most recent one, Dr. Fujita has always made me feel at ease and comfortable. (I mean, as comfortable as one could get with your legs in stirrups with a finger up your butt.) Whoops, I forgot to give the disclaimer that if you’re not okay with unfiltered comments, you should probably stop reading here and go read my Sephora review or something else less graphic. Anyway, for those of you who are still reading, BRAVO! You may need to squint once in a while but for the most part, I’ll try to keep it PG-​13.
Let’s start from the beginning. The office is located in Queen’s Physician’s Office Building II (POB II), located on the mountain side of Lusitana Street, past Queen’s Hospital. If you park either on the third or fourth floor (I always forget so I have to look for the door but I think it’s the 3^rd floor), there’s a door that leads straight into the building and you can take the stairs up one flight, make a quick u-​turn to your left and the doctor’s offices are right there. They have a stamp for you to validate your parking while you’re there. Let the receptionist know your name and which doctor you’re there to see.
Unlike my Internal Medicine Doc, I don’t have to wait an hour to get called. The chairs are kind of funky and gross and some of them are stained with who knows what so I typically look for a clean chair and sit down. By the time I check my Facebook updates, I’m usually called in, typically no more than 5 – 10 minutes after my appointment. Wendy and Karen have been his nurses for as long as I can remember and most recently, he’s had another nurse whose name I don’t know but she’s nice too. They’ll ask you if you need to pee (say yes because you don’t want to tinkle on the table) and when you’re ready, you’ll get weighed (shoes off, of course, because every ounce counts!) before they take you into the patient room. They’ll take your blood pressure and ask you to strip and put on some gowns. When Dr. Fujita comes in (the wait is typically not even long enough to read one article in a magazine), he does a breast exam and pushes on your abdomen before asking you to scoot down to put your feet up in stirrups. I like to get pedis so he’s complimented me on a few. Just making conversation, I guess. He then calls in a nurse before he does a vaginal check, swabs with a long q-​tip to take cultures for your pap smear and does a rectal exam. When you’re all done, you go to his office and he asks if you have any questions.
He’s very knowledgeable and has won lots of awards, if that’s your thing. Like I’ve said, he’s been my first and only and I have nothing to compare him to but I like what I get so why change? I even had a bump once on my leg near my vajayjay and made an appointment with Dr. Fujita because I refused to have my main doc check it out. I should have a tattoo that says «For Dr. Fujita’s Eyes Only» but that may make it awkward whenever I start dating someone. ^_~

I love Dr. Fujita. When you walk into the office, you immediately notice his awards on his walls. When you meet him, you know how he won them. He is kind, patient and professional. I like him so much, I referred my mother to him, and she likes him too.
I have had other gynos in the past who were only ok (and one that was just awful) but he’s great, his staff is great, and he knows how to speak to his patients in a non-​condescending, easy to understand way.
I would refer anyone to him. I highly recommend him!
