Face Art Beauty Make-Up Artists

They need to rename the company to «Face Art Beauty Magicians» because I have no idea how my makeup stayed shine free through my hot and muggy engagement photoshoot.
Now, I’m no stranger to makeup; I’ve used primers, setting sprays, setting powder, etc. But I still manage to get an oil slick on my face which, was totally prevented that day. My hair, I asked for loose curls and they had made the curls tighter than I’d like but they assured me that it would loosen up (and it did!). Not to mention, they were quick, yet thorough. Definitely going to book these ladies again for the wedding!

They did my hair and make up for my wedding and the hair of two members of my bridal party. It was great they came right to our hotel room. They were super responsive and were great at communicating with me. They always answered my emails within 24 hours. I didn’t go through a makeup and hair trial but did send them pictures before the big day of myself and what I wanted. They were super professional, on time and great to work with. I would definitly recommend them for your big day. My hair and make up helf up through a very long day.

I needed last minute prom hair and make up & they were able to take me in. The service was absolutely amazing, they walked me through everything making sure I was comfortable and satisfied with how it was coming along. What impressed me the most was the way they made my eyebrows look. Usually when I get a makeover done my eyebrows have to be a certain way, well they made it pass my standards and even better than how I do my eyebrows (which was a first). I definitely would recommend this place to all of my girlfriends. You do get your money’s worth. For the hair she also guided me through what it will look like a few hours in and it did this cool waterfall curl drop which was beautiful. My hair lasted the whole night without any problems. I loved it!

I absolutely love them. The accommodate your hair and makeup the way you want it. They ask about your preferences so they know what to do and what not to do. My hair and makeup lasted all through prom! I got my hair and makeup done at 12 – 1:15 and it lasted all the way til 11 pm. No smudges or anything. It was perfect! Definitely will be wanting to go back again!

I hired face art beauty to do hair and make up on me and my bridesmaids. From my first time talking to Dhyana over the phone, she was very sweet. She answered all my questions and gave me great suggestions. She always returned my phone calls the same day. First, I did a trial run a month before my wedding and met my artists that would be doing it the day of. I gave them pics for inspiration and they gave me exactly what I wanted. On the day of my wedding, they showed up on time. I had changed my mind on what I wanted for hair and make up and they delivered with no problem. Our artists were really cool and we even finished on time. I highly recommend face art beauty for your next event.

I went to a makeup class here at Face Art Beauty and the girls were so awesome. They started with doing one side of your face and then have you practice the technique yourself on the other side of your face. They were knowledgeable in answering any questions I had. They also video taped on my cell phone each step that we did so I can look at it later for reference. I thought that was a nifty idea. Also, they kept a booklet and wrote down all of the techniques and everything we did during the session. They also wrote down what products we used so you can go get them yourself on your own. We started with my makeup that I brought with me initially, and then added their own for things I didn’t have. So they showed you how to use your own make up as well. They ladies are great and is the best makeup training experience I have been to. They are very quick to respond via text and email. They are very professional and very nice and helpful. They said to contact them any time if they had any questions about what we did. I highly recommend them to anyone. I would give them 100 stars if I could. My fiancé loved the look when I got home.

I had my hair and make up done by Tiffany. She was incredible! Not only was she friendly, she was extremely talented. The minute she came in she got right to work! She was friendly and transformed me into a beautiful bride! I would recommend her to everyone! Thank you, Tiffany!

Dhyanna was truly a miracle worker! She also was such a nice person to be around and very helpful in her craft. I was weary about some sun damage I’ve had on my face for years. After letting her know, she made sure that disappeared and stayed out of sight for my entire wedding day! I must have cried so much and even sweat a little on my wedding day, but throughout it all my make-​up looked fantastic! I highly recommend Dhyanna and Face Art Beauty for your wedding needs!

This team was talented, fun and professional! Found them via Unilocal and used them for hair/​make up for my wedding. They did a phenomenal job and everything held up in the sun and on the beach. They made the experience fun for the whole group — and there’s a liquor store in the same shopping center that sells chilled champagne. Amazing all around.

I love this place, great people, awesome work. I got lost on my way there and the Artist who did my make-​up was really nice, she even came outside to look for me. I fell in love with the work she did on me, my friends and even people outside the warehouse compliment on me, they make you feel confident. Totally going back if I need to.

I am SUPER picky and over the top on most things!!! My make-​up artist EXCEEDED my expectations! She did a marvelous job for my special day. If you’re a diva with HIGH standards, this is the place to go.

Awesome makeup. I was able to get an appointment on the same day. I wanted Dyanne because Unilocalers mentioned her name, but she was booked. Her associate was just as good. She did my makeup and there nothing I would change. I’ve had makeup experiences with few professional artists, and this company was one of my best experience.

I had a destination wedding on Oahu and needed to book hair and makeup last minute. My worst fear was to look like a Texas beauty pageant queen. Well, after searching high and low and researching my butt off, I found Face Art and Beauty. I booked them and could not be happier that I did. I wanted a surfer natural sorta look and they did an amazing job. They were right on time and were so sweet and wonderful. Highly recommend them if you want to look amazing on your wedding day !

I was very disappointed with Face Art Beauty and I think it really depends on who you get.
I’ve had professional make up done before and had always been happy with the result. Therefore it’s disappointing that the first time I was not happy with the makeup was my wedding day.
I had even booked a trial but it was essentially useless because the make up artist had another appointment and therefore had no time to consult or try different colors/​styles to see what worked for me.
The groom had «men’s styling» but he ended up re-​doing his own hair as well because it was just flicked to one side without any consideration of whether it suited him or not.

There seems to be a lot of wrong information so let me clarify some:
— I was stuck in traffic but was only about 15 mins late for the trial.
— The make up artist never showed me the ‘process of her application’.
— Only one person was happy, not everyone, as her make up turned out pretty nice. I don’t think anyone else said they were happy.

I remember hearing about Face Art Beauty when I was in wedding planning. I came across their website recently (long after my wedding planning days) when my sister-​in-​law was looking for hair and makeup services for her upcoming nuptials. I really appreciated that you could not only contact them directly from their website, but they followed up very soon after sending in your request.
I ended up booking with them myself for a photo shoot i was doing. They promptly followed up, provided clear and detailed invoices and were impeccably fun and professional the day of. I was greeted at the front door by my style team and whisked away to my seat.
These ladies were great conversationalists and more than that, they perfectly understood my vision and executed it perfectly. I even got a text from them later in the day to check in on how my hair and makeup were holding up! I couldn’t appreciate this team more and will definitely refer all my friends here.

Before I got married last summer, I knew I wanted to look gorgeous and va-​va-​voom fabulous — all without looking like a tranny, of course. I didn’t want to look unrecognizable, either. Just a glammed up version of myself. Nor did I want an «au natural» makeup and hair job either because I hafta look at my ugly mug in the mirror everyday — why the f*ck would I wanna look like my plain Jane old self on my wedding day?! Lastly, the makeup needed to be able to withstand such factors such as my oily skin, bright sun, and high humidity since I would be getting married at 1:30 p.m. right in the middle of Foster Botanical Gardens. I shuddered at the thought of my makeup running down my face and me looking like a demented clown as I’d get ready to kiss my future husband.*
*(The previous week, I had had a makeup/​hair trial session with another artist who couldn’t guarantee that my makeup could hold up to the prior conditions listed. I spend a $ 100+ on it and the makeup started smearing and coming off a few hours later.)
So, two months before my wedding, I scoured through the Unilocal forums, Unilocal reviews, conducted Google searches, and went through reviews on
on a mission to find a makeup artist/​company who could make me feel like a Hollywood star that day, and less like RuPaul. After eliminating it down to about a dozen companies, I started contacting each one through e-​mail and requesting quotes for my big day.
A few of the companies were already booked for that date. I submitted a request through Face Art Beauty’s online form and was contacted a little over 24 hours later with availability and a quote. Talk about Speedy Gonzales!
I ended up booking FAB for my wedding day (July 18, 2013) for myself and 3 bridesmaids (2 of us got makeup/​hair and the other 2 got makeup only) and for just myself for my wedding reception (July 20, 2013). The fee for my makeup and hair styling session included makeup application (including airbrushing of foundation*), hairstyling, and application of fake eyelashes (I provided my own set of false eyelashes). I booked them without doing a trial session ahead of time based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews, numerous photos I had seen of their work, and the trust that was built with Dhyana/​FAB over the course of our numerous e-​mails.
*(Note: My skin is mixed and can get oily very fast, so it was recommended that I get airbrushing done because it would stand up in the long run.)
My wedding day came and Dhyana and Jaime arrived at my place a little earlier than the agreed upon time to start setting their stuff up. They are both such genuine, down-​to-​earth, and laid-​back souls; it honestly felt as if it was just of girlfriends getting together for a makeup party. They were cracking jokes, being upbeat, and talking stories as if we had known them for years. I have to echo some other reviews that mention how relaxing it was to be around their presence.
My makeup sesh for both days passed by like a breeze and I felt like a homecoming queen for both events. And, true to Dhyana’s word, my makeup withstood the nearly 89-​degree Fahrenheit, muggy, sunny, and hot-as-Satan’s-armpit weather the day of my wedding. My ceremony took nearly an hour and I was sweating like a pig. I had to dab my forehead too many numerous times to count, but everything was kept intact. The pictures I uploaded were taken AFTER my ceremony and several gallons of sweat and my makeup looks fantastic.
Hands down, I would give them 10 stars if I could! I received numerous compliments from friends and ‘ohana that day about my makeup and I wish I could have them cover over to my hale every single day so I could feel this beautiful! Thank Buddha, I have pictures to reflect back upon.

Scheduling an appointment online was a breeze. Hair and makeup for formal event was $ 167. That’s for two hours of work! Not including optional gratuity.
There’s structure parking at the ward warehouse. Face Art is located on the 2^nd floor in the hifi co op. If you’re unfamiliar with the set up, looks like business share an space. Keep an eye out for a comic store and Face Art is just around the corner.
My make up artist/​hair stylist was Leigh and she was very talented. I’m generally not a person that likes to ogle myself but I totally caught myself mesmerized by the transformation. At first I was reluctant considering I don’t wear much make up to begin with but as the night wore on and the make up settled in, I was very happy with how our pictures turned out.
Be sure to bring photos of hair styles and make up looks you like to give your stylist a better idea.
I also had the chance to meet Diane and she was incredibly friendly. I got a glimpse of the client she was working on and I have to say her make up was flawless as well. These gals at Face Art are very talented artists!

I wear make-​up every day to work, but have never been a pro. My eyebrows are light so it’s always a challenge to get them to be just right. I also would love to wear false eyelashes for special occasions, but get so stressed out with application that I usually end up pulling them off before I go out.
Jaime did my make-​up for my wedding and I loved how my photos came out (not to mention I got a ton of compliments the day of and when I showed my photos to people), so I knew that if I went to a class she would be able to give me some helpful tips. I was able to go to a class at the Hifi Co-​op at Ward Warehouse which was a perfect location – parking was easy and there was lots of space to spread out all of our make-​up.
I brought my own make-​up, which was really good because I was able to learn how to best apply what I already had. Jaime walked us through each step, and Dhyana and the other Face Art Beauty artists were there to assist.
The best part about the class was I learned specifically which tools and brushes I should use, how to get that natural look for my eyebrows that I have been desperately needing help with, and got to practice proper false eyelash application technique. They even gave us a new set of eyelashes to use.
Not only would I call on Jaime to help me with any future occasion to do my hair and make-​up, she is a patient and articulate teacher. I was inspired after this class and went and got some new brushes and tools, and have a MUCH easier time in the morning putting on my make-​up!
