Great staff, more concerned with helping the customer than anything else. Rented there for 5 years; would not rent anywhere else. Within the 5 years we had to adjust our storage needs & each time the staff accommodated our needs. Moving trucks & cargo vans are clean, readily available, & priced right. Facilities are clean & staff available to assist. They even knew & acknowledged us by name! In all, the very best!

When I got there to pick up my u-​haul, I realized the van I had reserved would not be big enough. They had one 10×15 available and they were able to switch it out with no problem. The lady at the counter was busy juggling walk-​in customers and incoming calls, but she was very friendly and efficient.
I didn’t expect to have such a memorable experience at a u-​haul rental facility but I left feeling really good about the location I chose to pick up from.
The facility is very clean and parking was readily available. Highly recommend this location for u-​haul rentals.

Nanette was awesome! She always the biggest smile every time I see her! Her husband Jim is also very friendly and helpful as well! This is a great family owned and operated company! If everyone in Hawaii ran their business the way Jim & Nanette do Hawaii would be a better place! Glad to be customers of DSS!!!

I’ve moved twice in the past couple of years and used them both times for a truck rental. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, I highly recommend!

This review is for the U-​Haul truck rental. Mostly.
Very organized and professional staff. Everything’s stated clear and up front, in a timely way. Over the phone, I asked what the cancellation fee and time window for reservations were, and the polite female answering the call reassured me that it would be okay to just give them a call. We changed our reservation once by extending it a day, and it was no problem.
The U-​Haul truck cost us $ 19.99 plus tax a day, and an additional $ 10/​day for insurance (we had our own but opted for Dillingham’s as well, since neither of us has driven a truck before). And you also pay $ 0.79 per mile plus whatever gas you use – we drove from Dillingham to Makiki to Mo’ili’ili, then back to Dillingham (yeah, big adventurers, thass us), which cost us $ 10 of additional mileage, and almost nothing in gas.
The main office was clean and merchandising expertly done, with its various products for sale (boxes and packing materials, such as strapping tape, plus tough-​looking locks for the storage units) and for rental (hand trucks, carts, etc.), as well as services ($ 0.06 per page for B&W printing; they also make copies) clearly labeled. The office space is signage-​d well, so you know exactly what you are getting, with no confusion.
I’ve been to storage places that were a lot messier in their presentation of the main office and much more casual/​informal in its staff behavior. Ditto car and truck rental shops. Same goes for copy places (hello FedEx/Kinko’s where the service is so-​so to behind-​but-​apologetic to non-​existent). This store handled all those products/​services and more, and everything was so smartly laid out, vacuumed neat and/​or washed down. [Right after rental U-​Haul vans were driven into the lot, being returned by customers, the same staff that answered phone popped right outside, to wash and vacuum them, which is why the truck we rented was probably so clean – very efficient use of staff time, and definitely not a «cruise» job.]
The Pacific Islander staff here was superb, to the last man and woman. Nice but not overly chatty, unctuous, or obsequious, clear in explaining their services, but concisely, without sucking up your energy. The minute you walk in, the staff greets you, whether there are other customers in store or not. There is almost no fat in this operation; someone is monitoring things so it’s clearly a well-​run business.
All in all, some superior training and management going on.

I’ve used the moving vans available here twice and both times I have had no problems with reservations or availability. The people here are so accommodating and really great. I would recommend this place for all your moving and storing needs. They’re centrally located and great to work with.

Only one way to explain this place… Amazing! They care for there customers and there customers belongings. This is the only storage I’ve ever used in my life and they set the standard that will be very difficult to beat! I’ll always go to them if ever I need to store anything again. I felt comfortable leaving my entire life’s belongings in their climate controlled secured facility. Customer service at its finest!

This place is a one stop shop. love it :) They have been quite helpful & have even gone the extra mile to make sure we get what we need. Printing services? They’ve got it. Storage space? They’ve got it. Clean restrooms? Oh yes, they have got it. Need a small meeting space? They’ve got a conference room. Need a uhaul? They can help too. As I said… one stop shop ;)

just moved a bunch of stuff into a 5×10×10 unit. i recommend this storage facility.
i knocked off 1 star for just one reason: it’s not perfectly 5×10×10 — for the frontmost foot, you can only go about 6 or 7 feet high due to the rolling gate. in the middle of each of the 3 walls, there is a metal beam that sticks out a few inches. the back also does not go all the way up, at least not in my unit. not a big deal, unless you are trying to fit as many boxes as possible into as small a space as possible, and ran some calculations to find the optimal layout.
on the positive side, i did a bunch of research, and found that dillingham storage had the best balance of cost effectiveness, cleanliness, service, convenience, and security. right now they have a june special of $ 175 for 5×10 units (orig $ 195), good for 12 months.
features i like:
— the facility gives you a personal access code to enter & exit the loading area parking lot, which disarms your unit as you enter, and arms your unit as you exit.
— you need your access code to have the elevator go to your floor.
— free usage of moving carts
— free usage of large van & uhaul to move IN to your unit.
— great customer service — the employees know their stuff, and they seem honest — no hidden costs or surprises.
— seems very clean — they can’t control what other people bring in, but they do their best by spraying for bugs every two weeks.
— plenty of parking
— security cameras everywhere.
— free onsite wifi.
— convenient location right by costco.

I called in and asked for a 10×10. They didn’t have any and only had 5×10 or 10×15. The former being to small, the later being too big (and too pricey for what I needed).
The very nice girl told me she’d look into it and call me back. When she did, she said she found me two 5×10 unites right next to each other, but would give it to me for the price of one 10×10! They totally did not have to do that, but I thought it was a very professional and gracious offer, which I took!
The girls who work there are very friendly, helpful, and professional.
The facility is SUPER CLEAN, and well lit, cameras everywhere, and appears to have a great design and flow to it.
I’ve been to many storage facilities, none of which are nearly as nice as this one.
I’m very happy to be a new client there, and will likely be there for the foreseeable future!

Like most of us, over the years some how things pile up. Try as you might to deal with it and declutter everything has importance. Needing relief of space we decided to look into the world of self storage. Took a look at a couple of places and this place seemed the best of the ones we saw. No problems with the move in or the cleanliness. The location is very central so its easy to get to and seems pretty secure.
Where I have a MAJOR problem is that a one night kind of late we had to get stuff out of the room for a clinic we were doing. As we entered the last row a couple of doors before our room the rolling door was half way up and there was a man sitting with his legs facing out of the room with his undies around his ankles and watching tv or a movie. We surprised him and he quickly closed his door.
A couple days later I went into the office and told them all about what happened. They said that they know who he is and has come upon some hard times. OK!!! They then said that they will kick him out. Not knowing if they did or not I had to go in again one night and just so happen that same room didn’t have a lock on it and closed. Strange all the rooms, rented or not have locks on it. So my guess is that he heard someone on their way and he just closed it up. I was just about ready to put my lock in the door and lock it. Infact I will do that if the next time I go there and suspect someone is in the room. I would love to hear that guy yelling and screaming and ask management why they lied to me and didnt ensure a safe environment. I really hope that the employees didn’t lie to me by saying that he will be kicked out immediately. I WILL PUT A LOCK ON THE DOOR IF I FIND IT LOCKLESS.

Hassle free sign up. The registration sign up was very fast. The staff was nice. The bathrooms were clean. Easy access to our unit on the 3^rd floor. Safe security system. Loading parking in front double doors. Complimentary van/​truck for a day. Internet, fax, printer available. $ 99 for a 5×10, pretty good deal. Music in the halls to rid that silent creepy feeling when you’re in there by yourself.

What can I say, this storage facility is the best. Believe me, this is the 7^th storage facility that I have been in and this one is far the best. It is clean, the staff is very friendly, and I feel that they go out of their way to accommodate any need you may have. They have computers to use, wi-​fi, and copy machines. It is virtually a one stop shop. It made my life easier to have all of the perks on their facility. Thanks for such great service!

I came across these folks while I was looking for a place to stash all my equipment and supplies for my new business. It was geographically convenient, being at the edges of downtown and nearby to the freeway.
Their rates were very reasonable, and the service is (and continues to be) outstanding. The ladies in the office were tolerant of all of my many questions, and they treat you like a neighbor. I find their business to be clean and well kept, with good lighting.
It can be a wee bit troublesome when you’re first using the interior elevators, as you need to call the elevator first to figure out which one you’re getting, THEN punch your code into that particular elevator. That can be a little frustrating if you don’t get that figured out early.
The security camera coverage (as seen from inside their office) is quite comprehensive, and access is well controlled into the storage units. All of the interior units have access from 0600 – 2100, whereas the exterior units on the first floor have 24 hour access. The exterior units have their own lighting (automatically triggered when you open the lock) and light electrical service for a nominal fee ($ 35/​mo for a non-​metered 15A 120V circuit. 2 plugs in one box).
As an added bonus, there are a number of interesting businesses inside the building. If you linger in the office for even a little while, all manners of trades will come through. Electricians, soda machine vendors and more.
I see myself staying here quiiiiite some time.

Dillingham storage is convenient, very clean, affordable, has air conditioning and secured. The staff treats you like family. If you need extra storage Dillingham Self Storage is the place to go I highly recommend it.

This is the only self storage facility that I’ve used so I can’t compare it to anything else. But here’s what I love about it:
–Very Secure (you enter your pin to enter the gates, access elevators and to exit)
–Clean
–Offers carts to help with loading and unloading
–Office where you can buy supplies for packing, shipping, etc
–Office to access internet
–Air conditioned
–Timed lights
–Intercom in building if you need help
–Location is very convenient for me
I’ve never had issues with billing so there’s not much more I could ask for!

If you have to get storage, this is the place for locals to go. The staff is SUPER nice and they are very affordable. It’s very secure, convenient, cool, and the place you should store your stuff.
Tanya and her sister are the bomb! They show you the unit and make sure you have exactly what you need.
I did see some shady people, but I think that’s to be expected for the area and any kind of storage place. And plus, I don’t think they can discriminate on how one looks when they rent out their units.
So…if you HAVE to get storage (for a short time, that is), DBSS is the place to go with.

This is a self storage facility, with the best customer service ever!!! What can I say, they sent me a birthday card! The customer service is great, they will show you the various units available for rent, the facility is clean, they have carts you can use for free, security cameras throughout the facility, they will even accept your mail for you!
