Given my German descent, it’s been a joke around the office that we had to try this place. So we waited all week for them to park close to our office, and then went and grabbed a bite to eat.
The positives:
–The guy who does the serving out of the truck is really cool. Totally friendly guy, and more than willing to give you a free sample of stuff like soup before you buy it to see if you like it.
— The soups are all really good. Especially the gouda.
The negatives:
— Price; Ouch! Like what other reviewers said, the bratwurst are seriously tiny, as well as the «sides;» more like Dixie Cup sized samples. For 12 bucks for the combo (bratwurst, soup, sides, drink), your portions are going to be the size of a kid’s meal.
— I personally thought the brat tasted pretty good. However, my coworker and I both noticed a decent amount of sinew in our bites. It’s not a ruiner, but it’s also not very pleasant either.
— I would have preferred to have more condiments to make it more Polish hot dog style. But alas, no relish, no onion, no kraut on top. Just a plain brat with the option to put some ketchup or mustard on it.
I don’t want to be too hard on the place because as the 3 star suggests, it was alright. It’s just that if I’m going to spend that kind of money on lunch, it’s hard to justify especially when you could get a giant plate lunch for even cheaper.

Loved their pretzel… It was so moist and very buttery. The sausage was very juicy. My girlfriend liked their broccoli soup. Their location on Cooke St, parking was hard to find.

I ordered the combo meal which consists of a bratwurst and a choice of soup. I chose sausage potato. The brat was tasty but tiny. The bun was huge so there was too much bread for me, however you can tell it is fresh and a homemade bun.
The soup was fantastic. I dont even eat cooked carrots but I ate everything in the bowl. I wished that there were more potatoes and sausage in it though. The broth was really flavorful.
The owner and other staff member were super friendly and even threw in a pretzel. The pretzel was delicious!
I’d definitely come back for their soups and I want to try the cabbage beef soup next!

I was totally ecstatic to learn that they are now in the downtown area on Monday and Wednesday!!! And what makes it super convenient … for me. is that it is right across the street from my job! Booyah!
I. LOVE. THE. FOOD!!! Yes, I understand that it’s ‘just a food truck’ (hush your mouth!) … But, I haven’t had German food in a while … oh … since 2000. I know, I know! And it was hard for me to get to where their food truck was, when they were by the Pan Am building because of the hours. NO MORE!!! I will be a regular!!!
Back to the food! I love brats … period. I can eat that for days if I didn’t gain pounds! And sauerkraut … just give me a big bowl of that! The soups are what I had missed the most on my last venture to Germany :(My ex’s mama used to make them for me all the time … le sigh
Today I ordered the Super Combo, which consisted of a brat with all the sides, soup of your choice and a drink. All for $ 12. To me, worth it! I ate all of that and am full right now. I chose the beef and cabbage soup … it was sooooooo good!!! I didn’t notice that it was salty. mine was delicious.
Unlike another Unilocaler, my brat was perfect … no soggy bun and my brat was to die for … my toppings were also great! Maybe they had an off day? :/​
Btw, the sides for the brat are sauerkraut, horseradish, and pickles.
Customer service was out of this world! We chatted for a while :) Very cool guy

Finally got my chance at this awesome experience! Delicious food and top notch customer service. Didn’t what to choose he suggested the perfect soup and sausage combo and yes I will be returning with my family. This was my lunch break and will love to share in this wonderful experience!

This review is for the brat and potato/​sausage soup. Although some may have thought the potato/​sausage soup was salty, I actually enjoyed this soup a lot. I read their menu online and was really looking forward to trying the split pea soup but when I arrived only certain soups were offered. Their facebook page should list what soups are being offered that day. The brat itself was also pretty good but when I opened the container and realized how incredibly small it was; I was very disappointed. The bread was very good but way too thick for how small the sausage was. I only gave a ³⁄₅ because the cost is definitely not worth the amount of food you are getting. Adding sauerkraut, horseradish and the tiniest slice of a pickle in the world should be free with your brat… I was very shocked to see the $ 2 upcharge. Would I go again? Meh, we’ll see, maybe to try a different soup.

Smoked Gouda soup was very tasty, but very very rich. The sausage is very small & not very tasty… also you have to check the sausage, it might be undercooked.:(

I finally made it to the food truck! I read the reviews AFTER I had my lunch. I opted to get a plain brat without sauerkraut because I believe in trying things without added condiments first. Can’t wait to try the sauerkraut on my next visit! Maybe the brat wasn’t the biggest but it was more than enough for me. The bun wasn’t the prettiest but I loved the taste. I sampled the potato soup with sausage — yummy! I’ll be back again!

I really really wanted to like this place. We ordered the brat with sauerkraut, broccoli cheese soup, cabbage and beef soup and a free ginger heart cookie.
The brat was on a roll that was soggy. The brat was very bland tasting — blah blah. Both of the soups were too salty. The free cookie is imported from Germany and was not too sweet it was pretty good.
The sauerkraut was «limp» not crisp and tasted like it came from a can. They pull the brats straight out of the pot so the liquid soaks into the roll and makes it very soggy.
They lady was very nice and I wanted to love this place. But I can’t tell a lie — I will never go back. :-(

It’s a food truck. It’s gonna be a bit pricey.
They are super nice, gave samples and the food is delicious! LOVED the cheese soup. My husband raved about the bratwurst for hours. It was all very yummy and we hope to come again soon. Danke!

I lived in Germany for three years when I was a kid so when I found out that there was a German food truck right outside my work I made sure to have lunch there the next day.
It was $ 6.50 for just the bratwurst but you can add a potato salad and a drink for $ 3.50 more.
Food: I ordered the Luxus. The brat was kind of dull and flavorless. It would have tasted better with more sauerkraut and mustard but I would have been happier with the brat having more flavor. The potato salad was good but it was in such a tiny side container!
Service: The service was great! He was super friendly.
Value: I’m not sure I would want to come back. The brat didn’t have flavor and it was teeny tiny. The potato salad also was teeny tiny. I hate to say this but I think Johnsonville brats from the store tastes better. Sorry!

This 3 star review is based on the curry bratwurst which was too plain for my liking. We were informed the sausage is made local by a German and the roll it’s on is also made local by a German woman. Me and a friend opted for a $ 10 combo which also came with potato salad and a drink.
The curry wurst could be improved with some toppings, maybe sauerkraut & pickles like the Luxus has. The potato salad was very flavorful and it’s a dry potato salad which is different from local potato salad we are used to. I also had a sample of the cheese soup which is a blend of different cheeses and has French styled marinated sweet onions inside.
The service is great, he is very friendly and offers samples straight off the bat. 5 stars for service but the curry bratwurst definitely could use some spicing up!

If this review was based only on taste of the food that I purchased I would give 4 stars. If you would have only seen my face once I realized what I was getting for my $ 9.50. I paid 3.00 for a tiny little cup of sauerkraut, and 6.50 for a half a hot dog sized brat. Never again, should have been twice or maybe even 3 times as much food for the price. Well at least you can just drive to a new location once everyone over here realizes after 1 second of seeing their food they got ripped off. Never again buddy.
