Whether we’re going for more candid, more posed, more fun & whimsical, more soft & tender, my goal during our shoot is to make you feel as comfortable, beautiful and as happy as possible, and showcase all of your beautiful attributes, whether you are a single woman, a couple, a family…

I edit & retouch the photos before displaying them for you in your own online gallery. And I have many pricing options, packages & products available to fit your needs. I offer custom created calendars, cards, books, and a variety of other items. You are also able to purchase all images from your photo session on a CD in digital format. History

Established in 2009.

I had first studied photography in 1995, focusing on composition, black and white photography and darkroom development. My love of the art of photography has never waned. Having then entered the digital age, I went back to school where photoshop & digital design came into play.

I had been taking photos of friends (engagement, maternity, their new babies, etc.), and I started to get referral calls– people who had seen my friend’s photos & wanted some of their own. So, after the birth of my son in 2009, I decided to turn my love of photography into a business.

i love nutella. with a spoon. i love movies. especially the romantic sappy kind. or thrillers. provided there’s a romance in there somewhere. i love to dance. i used to be a professional ballet dancer. but i really love to shake a tail feather too. i love adventure. especially the traveling kind. i love my family. and my wonderful friends. i love to give gifts to people. sometimes i buy christmas presents already in february. i like to cook. but i love watching a real chef in action. top chef rocks. i bake a mean brownie. i am even better at eating them than i am at baking them. i love amusement parks. the faster the roller coaster the better. pink cotton candy is my favorite. i love the beach. i worship the sun. i love creativity. i love love love photography. i love the smiles a photograph can bring to people’s faces. i love it if i am able to do that for someone.

Thank you Daphne for the amazing experience of doing a boudoir shoot. Needless to say, for the average human is a bit nerve racking to expose yourself but Daphne made the experience fun and completely memorable. A boudoir shoot has always been on my bucket list and so I started my research on finding the best boudoir photographer on Oahu, Daphne Hargrove. I reached out to Daphne and within a few hours I received a response. Yay!
Daphne even suggested a friend to do my hair and makeup which was a huge relief since I had no idea who to go to for hair and makeup. The day of the shoot, I was a bit nervous but Daphne really put me at ease and it was a blast. We did an indoor and beach shoot and both settings were beautiful. Her indoor studio was clean and spacious and the outdoor shoot was breathtaking.
The most difficult part of the whole process was narrowing down photos to my favorite to compile into a book. The turn around time from actual shoot to receiving the completed book was much quicker than I expected. I initially told Daphne I needed the book before the first weekend in December as I would be traveling for 2 weeks and I received the book the week before Thanksgiving. Let me break it down, boudoir shoot the beginning of November and final product within 3 weeks!
Ladies, I highly recommend stepping out of your comfort zone and doing something that celebrates who you are as a woman. Thanks to Daphne, this was such a liberating and memorable experience.

This is our 5th year getting our family photos done by Daphne, and our kids were the CRAZIEST this year… and the pictures are still beautiful and amazing! Daphne has the ability to bring out the most captivating smiles and heart stopping serious poses. She is so patient and also knows how to motivate the kids. She can roll with the kids and turn their antics into amazing poses! I am sure to have Daphne do our family photos for year to come!

I wish I could review Daphne’s work itself, but unfortunately I have not been able to do a session with her. I have contacted her 3 times, received responses twice– the first was about 6 weeks after my email (apparently she was on vacation). The second I waited for about 2 weeks before hearing back. The third (I responded immediately after her 2nd response) I am still waiting on (going on another 2 weeks now).
My only tip is to try to get a hold of her in some way other than email. It makes me wonder how long the turn around time is to actually GET your photos. I will never know, though. I’ll be going with someone more accessible and with better customer service.

What can I say about Daphne that everyone hasn’t hit already. She is absolutely spectacular! I was extremely nervous when doing the boudoir shoot because I completely stepped out of my comfort zone. I have aways been into the whole modeling thing but when it came to that type, I was nervous! Daphne made me feel like a million bucks and better yet we had soooo much fun doing it. I had a huge time crunch as well, because I decided to do this as an anniversary gift last minute. She got me in ASAP and edited my photos quickly so I had something to show the man. I couldn’t believe how good she is at photography. She is now my families photographer!

I cannot say enough good things about Daphne and her work!
This review is several months in the making. I had commissioned Daphne to take some photos for me because my boyfriend was moving from HI to the mainland, and I wanted him to have a keepsake of one of his favorite spots in town. Unfortunately, I don’t live anywhere even CLOSE to Honolulu, and there is no way I would have been able to sneak some photos while I was there visiting. Thankfully, Daphne was up to the challenge. She carefully listened to exactly what I wanted, went out and took some KILLER awesome photos, and edited and sent me the best ones to pick from! I ordered an aluminum print through her site, and it was absolutely stunning when it arrived. I could go on and on about my experience ad nauseam, but I’m sure y’all get the picture (see what I did there?) Anyway, if you need photog services in the Honolulu area, definitely give her a call!

Absolutley the BEST photographer on Oahu
Daphne has such an incredible personality that makes her so wonderful and easy to work with. Perfect. Creative. Lovely. Fun and everything in between! I couldn’t be happier with the photos she took and I know my husband is going to LOVE his christmas present. I will never be able to doubt my looks again Thanks to her. I’ll keep it brief, b/​c the other reviews have already hit upon everything. Daphne is AMAZING. Her photography skills are unparalleled. She shot my maternity pics (with my hubby and 2 year old son) and my son’s birthday party. For my maternity pics, she was able to make me feel beautiful, even though I looked like a torpedo (I swear a stranger at Costco laughed at how large and bullet shaped I was because he couldn’t tell I was pregnant from the back). And, she got my son to cooperate during the pics, who was feeling very grumpy that day. It’s key that she has a son also, so she knows how to work with toddlers. Her energy and enthusiasm are infectious.
Now, if I had just met Daphne before I had my 2 sons, then maybe I’d consider the boudoir photoshoot… but not now! But, if ever there was someone who could convince me that I will still a hot mama and make me feel comfortable doing the shoot, it would be Daphne.

Bottom line, working with Daphne is amazing! She is professional, personable, and creative. I love the photos she has taken for me and I will without a doubt hire her again in the future!
I have never been one who enjoys having my picture taken and typically I don’t like the photos that I am in. Working with Daphne changed my mind on this. She is so wonderful and easy to work with, I never felt uncomfortable during our photo shoot… in fact at times I even forgot my picture was being taken. Daphne is amazing at making you feel comfortable and relaxed.
Best of all is that the photos are absolutely amazing. The composition is incredible and I can finally say I LOVE looking at photos with me in them. Daphne is truly talented. I would recommend her to anyone looking to capture special moments in life. The biggest problem you will have is deciding which of the beautiful photos you should frame!

My wife and I hired Daphne to do our engagement photos on Kailua Beach and we were blown away by how incredible the shots were. We sent them out to all our family and friends and people loved them so much, many of them asked us for Daphne’s info. We even used a few of the shots in our wedding invitation, thank you notes, and a book… and again, everyone told us they truly loved the pictures.
Simply talking about the quality of Daphne’s photos doesn’t even begin to explain why you will love working with her. As a photographer myself, I can tell you that Daphne is a true artist both with the camera and in post-​production. Many professional photographers simply add a couple pre-​canned filters… but not Daphne. I was introduced to Daphne nearly a year ago. She was referred to me by a friend who had just hired her to shoot engagement photos — my friend and his fiancée were absolutely thrilled with the pictures she took, so I gave her a call and the rest is history…
Daphne is an artist, through and through. A former dancer with the New York City Ballet, Daphne looks at the world in a completely different way than most people… and the result of this unique perspective comes through beautifully in her photography. She captures intimate moments with such incredible precision and authenticity. Take a look through the client galleries on her website — you’ll see what I mean. Daphne takes engagement photos, pregnancy/​new baby photos, and, her specialty… boudoir photos!
The best part about working with Daphne is her personality. I hate having a camera pointed in my direction, but Daphne immediately put me at ease. So much so, that I almost forgot there was a camera in the room at all! The shoot went by so quickly because we were having SO much fun… she is an absolute dream! Oh, and don’t worry about what side is your «best side» because Daphne is a MASTER of shooting the most flattering angles. When I saw the proofs of my shoot, I could hardly believe I was looking at myself! Daphne made me look pretty darn amazing, if I do say so…
