Happened to be around at the store yesterday and ordered an ice cream diet coke float obviously it was the time of the day when ppl are rushing home and instead of bearing the traffic & construction noises around at home little had i ditto to head out. Wondering around with too specific of a purpose, as i i was craving for ice cream and for the lack of self-control i went right in and unanimously it turned out to be quite okay not that it was not good, it just was not as great of an effect for the momentary heightened sucrose. I guess i could have ordered something popular on the post and as much as an inexperienced foodie, i am reluctant to admit that knowing how to make an order is quite important.

I find it pretty amazing that Dairy Queen operates their business on the ground level of Ala Moana shopping center where it couldn’t be any hotter, but they still manage to pull off blizzards that don’t fall out of the cup when they flip it upside down! When looking for a cheap dessert, Dairy Queen blizzards are a great choice because they have so many different flavors to choose from! My favorite is the classic Oreo blizzard. For the a holiday season, they are promoting a peppermint Oreo blizzard. Or if you’re not feeling a blizzard, you can’t go wrong with a chocolate dipped ice cream cone! If you’re able to withstand the heat on the ground level parking lot area, stop by after your lunch or dinner for dessert!

The food tasted fine. .Hot dogs and a BLT. Tasty. Just painfully expensive which is to be expected in Waikiki.

A great place to stop for dessert after dinner at the Makai Marketplace. I like the different blizzard offerings and can only finish the children’s mini, which is just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth! Good, friendly service, and I get a kick when they turn my mini blizzard upside down before handing it to me to prove that it’s thick!

Boy, do I miss this place. The Kahului location closed years ago, but I’m still tortured by all the mouth-watering commercials on tv. Stopped by special to try the confetti cake Blizzard. It wasn’t listed on the menu but I asked and received. Soft serve, white cake bits, whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles. It was good, except for the cake bits which were dry and hard, as if they were kept in the freezer and thawed out. This deprived Mauian will definetly be back for more!

YUM! ICECREAM, SOFTSERVE! YUM! Was walking around Ward center and decided that it was time for a snack, and since DQ is having a buy one blizzard, get the other for 99cents, we decided to take advantage! We got the oreo mint and reese PB cups! YUM! SOOGOOD! For 2 mediums, I paid $ 5.95…not bad! And it was OHSOGOOD!!! The promo ends at the end of March! Get on it! :)

Who wouldn’t want to stop by here and get a creamy and sweety treat when cruising around the mall. I tried DQ for the first time recently. I got the original blizzard with reeces. It wasn’t that bad. Reminds me of McDo Mcflurries. The blizzard is a little pricey. Almost 4 bucks for a small.one. Not sure if its worth it but it was still good nonetheless. After the purchase they gave me some free coupons for a buck off any of their lattes/frappacino. I think I am going to go back to try some more of their stuff. The little stand is right next to Curry House, Jollibee, and The Coffee Bean on the makai/ocean side of the mall and food court. The staff and customer service is good. The stand is connected right next to Orange Julius. I think they share employees or something. As for Orange Julius, I pretty much like getting the original orange Julius. It is good enough for me for an old school Jamba Juice drink. Unilocal 365 Challenge #202/365

I think DQ is a little pricey for soft serve ice cream when I can just stop by ANY McDonalds and get a $ 1 sundae. However, when you sign up for the Blizzard Fan Club, they send you coupons 6 times a year, for a buy 1 medium Blizzard, get 1 free(M/S/mini). This is when it’s worth it. Likes: I’ve been to a few other DQs in Hawaii, and I like this one the best. The ice cream isn’t melting, and they turn the Blizzard upside down, like what they’re supposed to do, before they serve it to you. Other locations don’t do this, and I suspect it’s because their soft serve is too soft. Dislikes: I don’t think there’s anything inherently bad, but I’d say the amount of Calories! Oh yeah, the Mint Oreo Blizzard tastes artificial. Favorites: Banana Split Blizzard. Bananas, chocolate fudge, strawberry topping and soft serve mixed together. It would be perfection if they added nuts too. The Georgia Mud Pie is pretty good. Mixing those two flavors is yummy too. Being a chain, if you’ve been to one DQ, you should know what to expect. If you have one of those BOGO coupons go here! This location for me seems to be the most consistent, and that’s why it’s so good, it’s almost reDQlous.

I was there this past Friday. There were two older Asian ladies working. Neither of them noticed that I was standing infront their ordering window. I finally dropped my car keys on their silver table to get their attention. First lady who approached me didn’t even say hi or ask me what I wanted. She just stared at me and there was an akward silence. I said, «Starberry and banana, small» and she turned around and started to make my drink. Finally finished, without one ward, she just pushes my finished drink out in the open. I consider this to be the worst service EVER!!! I’ll never come back to this place again and I’ll let others know of my awful experience. Not even a hi… Hello… A smile? Pathetic!

BOGODQ Blizzard? Okay I’m there! Lary and I went the other day to get my ice cream fix on. Since Lary ran and did his normal 3AM(yes I said AM and yes, THREE), he was more than happy to oblige! This place was kinda hard to find if you don’t normal end up near the Curry House. I thought it was by Arby’s and I tried calling the number listed on Unilocal but don’t… it’s some girl named Natasha or something. I couldn’t quite understand her. haha. We ended up getting my Strawberry Cheesequake and Lary got a Georgia Mud Pie. They both were delicious… I especially loved the brownie bites in Lary’s… they were nice and chewy. I also like the cheesecake bites in mine as well. Since there was no one there, they were quick and friendly. There’s not really a place to eat it but that’s okay. We ventured inside the food court so we could put Kent down. I even gave a couple of bites to Kent and he did his little fist pumps in the air because he loved it so much. He wasn’t sure at first but then would fuss if I didn’t keep giving him some. It’s dairy… it’s good for him right? He’s skinny and he can handle it! It’s sorta expensive but at BOGO stuff, it’s not that bad. I’d say I’d get it at least once a week if it wasn’t for their price. Maybe that’s the whole point, keep their prices high so they don’t get sued for making America fat.

A warm day, a sweet tooth, and a BOGO coupon make for a necessary trip to Dairy Queen. This location is not too hard to find, especially if you know what side of the mall it is on. It is located in the Ala Moana shopping center right near the Makai Market food court, next to the Curry House. Note: it is not in the food court, but near it on the street level. The staff here were friendly. They greeted me and didn’t balk at the fact that I was using a coupon. One person worked the register while the other made the treats so that made for a quick in and out. The prices are pretty reasonable for ice cream treats, but might be considered high compared to mainland DQ prices. But alas this is Hawaii. Plus it helps to have a coupon, too. SCORE! What can I say about the ice cream, except that it is… AWESOME! I think the DQ Blizzard ranks up there with 7 – 11 Slurpees as being the best frozen treat ever created. I ordered the Georgia Mud Fudge Blizzard and my inner-fat kid was in gluttony heaven. So chocolate-y and the brownie and pecans made this delicious. My wife, Jerrene T, had the Strawberry Cheesequake Blizzard. It was quite good and had a nice strawberry flavor. I see why this is her go-to flavor when visiting DQ. And of course one of my favorite parts of going to Dairy Queen: when they turn the blizzard upside down right before they hand it to you. Nice!

Friendly service, military discount(10%), and cleanliness gives this place 4 stars. However, they never had any lemonade selections in the Orange Julius side this time; which we love to order. This is why I didn’t add the 5th star. Other than that, great place to get a drink after a long, hot day. However on the Dairy Queen side, the Blizzards here are made better than other Dairy Queens; especially the one next to Ward theatres. Lady over there did not make my Blizzard good and I had very bad times arguing with her over there. Over here in Ala Moana, they are always friendly!

MMMMM, I love Orange Julius because the drinks actually quench my thirst while smoothies make me more parched. Bummed that the Kahala location is gone. So to keep this location going — I know it’s pricey — I’ll share my tips with fellow Unilocalers. Tips to save $$: BOGO coupons in the Entertainment Book. Join the free email club for coupons & some freebies. Go on Tuesdays because there is a BOGO for Orange Julius drinks if you mention it! Enjoy!

I wondered if this location was more expensive than the Ward location, but unfortunately I didn’t pay for my dipped cone here. Wait. I should change that to LUCKILY! I still don’t know if this location costs more, but then again rent in Ala Moana is crazy so I wouldn’t doubt it. The cone here didn’t have the same shape and the wait is extremely long even though I was the only person in line. But the ice cream is good! Hot day killer indeed. But I still prefer to drive two blocks down the road and go to Ward.

Whoa, I love Blizzards. I thought that the price is a rip off, but it isn’t! Promise! Compared to some other ice cream places that moosh items into the ice cream you get a lot for the price. The largest size Blizzard could have been split among the 3 of us, but my husband doesn’t care for mint so he got his own. And I think I ate a good amount, while my daughter had a lot to eat after I had my fill! The place doesn’t look like much, but I think you get a great deal.

DAAAMN! $ 4.99(pre-tax) for a large Orange Julius! $ 4.67(tax included) for a small Blizzard! DQ-OJ has got their own mini inflation prices going. I know that the price of living in Honolulu was steep, but holy cow! Seems like they want to price themselves right out of business. They’re brutal. I actually got a chocolate chip blizzard for the first time in a long time and it was just as I remember it, nice and wispy with small chocolate chips in it. To be fair, the small Blizzard could feed two people. Funny when they serve it to you they flip it upside down to show you that the Blizzard stays in the cup. Just in case you need to eat it upside down, I guess. I like Orange Julius, I just don’t like it enough for $ 5+. With the new Orange Tree yogurt place next door, I don’t see them maintaining those prices too long. They have to come down right? I’ll write them a letter and ask them to furlough the regular price on Fridays to $ 2.99 or something. Parking is all over, although currently in that specific area of the mall there is construction that is taking up plenty of spots.
