Comedy U

So here is the deal. These shows are not your typical HBO comedy special. They are multiple local comedians doing their thing. Some good, some great, some just trying really hard, (so you should clap and laugh anyway).
The good and great guys more than make up for the flops.
Anna’s is an awesome venue, they have great drinks, there is cheap pizza next door that you can bring in, you can hang out with friends for a few hours and just have a good time.

Right near UH Manoa! I can tell you that the comedians for the feature show are hand picked and do pretty well. The musical act in the beginning was fun and we stuck around for the Open Mic at the end and most of them were funny. My wife and I love comedy so this is where we go. OH, they have Military and Student discounts.

Comedy U does a lot of cool things, like a best-​of-​16 show that is a lot of fun to watch. The comics there are a mix of local guys and mainland style comics, and even the comedy ranges from newbies to solid guys who make you die laughing. Whether you are totally in comedy, or just trying to go out and have a good time, the guys at Comedy U are worth coming to watch and laugh with.. or at.

This is easily located. Shows are on Wed 0830p and Fri 0730p. PAY ATTENTION TO PARKING– Street parking is available as well as parking right next to the entrance. It would help if signs were posted outside in regards to available parking lot. DO NOT PARK by Longs Drugs or you may get a ticket!
Entrance fee was fairly cheap, we bought ours from
Groupon (5 bucks for military) and drinks are priced reasonably. In addition, the gentleman upstairs collecting fees was friendly.
The club is lighted properly with a few tables while the bar tender comes from table to table to tend to customers — all you basically do is watch and enjoy the show.
Workers put a lot of effort to make this gig happen. Comedians do try as well to make the audience have a good time; be aware that some of them are new and also consider how hard it is to actually come up with jokes and stand up in front of a crowd– my fiancé and I enjoyed Brandi and Joseph’s stand up the most.
Highly recommend to check it out! It was a good experience, lots of fun!

The best Time on a Wednesday that I have had in Honolulu. Not expensive, good drinks and pizza. The staff at Anna’s was great. The Comedy ranged from laughing so hard I was crying and farting, to that’s not funny, but I had fun the entire time. I look forward to going back many more times and recommend it to all my friends.
