Don’t buy any vehicle from this dealership. They’ll tell you what you want to hear just to get the sale. Their vehicles are overpriced. Unfortunately, I was a first-​time buyer, didn’t know any better, & they took full advantage of that. Save yourself the trouble & hassle in your future.

Horrible experience!!! I found the 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5S that was posted by Slater on Aug 2015 for $ 7999. I went there and they told me that it was on a loan/​lease for a week or two. I was told that they would follow up with me when the vehicle is returned or I can check in with them. They tried to sell me another older model Nissan Altima with more mileage and of course I said «No thank you.» They have given me a run around whenever I call back. Management did not follow through on their end. The 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5s is now posted for $ 9997. It shows the type of service and business this company is running. I never received a call back regarding the 2007 Nissan Altima. Also, the website states that they support the troops, but let’s be honest here… the chief goal is profit!

Wow. In this day and age I can negotiate a purchase through email, phone or even text message. However at Choice Automotive Hawaii you can not unless you live outside of Oahu. I’ve been negotiating two other car purchases through email with two other dealers that are happy to have a shot to earn my business. Not only are they not satisfied with my business they flat out told me they don’t need my business because they sell their cars quickly and for the price they want. That’s nice and all except I hadn’t even given them an offer yet. They flat out refused to even hear one. I’m a cash buyer who would’ve had the deal done within an hour. Not everyone has enough time to be driving all over the island to negotiate a deal that may or may not work out. Turns out since there was no negotiating, there will be no deal. But that’s okay, they don’t need me.

If i could give it no stars i would…

I’ve came into Choice Automotive looking for one specific car (Chevy Impala) and luckily they had one for me. The one they had in their inventory was a 2007 Impala LS with 19,500 (rough estimate) miles on it! My salesman, Jay, was an excellent help with the smooth and easy process as a first time buyer. I really hope he gets a raise and/​or promotion because he’s down-​to-​earth guy that wants the best for you.

The 1^st time I went to Choice Automotive I didn’t really find anything that my girl and I liked. So I gave my information to Steven Hughes thinking he wasn’t really going to call me back and to my surprise he did, almost weekly.
We told them what we were interested in and how much we’re willing to spend and since then we have been there two times now looking at leads that either Steven orJay called us about. My girl is super picky so I feel really bad for Steven and Jay but I’m confident they’ll seal the deal eventually. My family really appreciates how we don’t feel pressured to buy something like most dealerships. They have a genuine concern for your happiness and that is priceless. Thx Andres «Gabe», «Nathan», Steven and Jay. They say 3^rd times a charm but thank you for your patience and thx for not treating us like we’re just another number waiting in line.
We read some of the other reviews and it’s quite obvious the negative ones are pretty petty. I’m sure a few are valid but some are just ignorant.

We bought a car back in Feb with them. At first it was fine. Cheaper car, we bought extended warranty with a third party. The one thing written into the contract is that they would replace the steering wheel since it was an aftermarket. Meanwhile, waiting for the steering wheel to come in the SRS light is on in the honda we bought which is a huge safety concern. It took me about 10 times calling in & every time the sales people just asked for my name and number in order for a manager to call me back. I had to threaten a lawsuit due to breach of contract if they could not get us that steering wheel. Finally they pulled through after about 8 weeks after the purchase.

I went to this dealership twice. And honestly both experiences where not satisfactory. I did not get the vehicle I wanted or establish a concrete deal that would work for my family’s income. Instead I test drove a vehicle I was initially told I was qualified for. The a hour later the wanted another test drive of the vehicle I wanted to trade then I had to go through additional inquiries steal never establisin a concrete deal after 24hrs of headache. I would not recommend this place for people with credit issues. You need a high score and substantial down payment to get anything solid from this place

Terrible! Old school high pressure sales tactics. Trying to get you to buy now tell you anything you want to hear to get you to buy. Good thing i read the reviews before my decision. Do yourself a big favor and look elsewhere

STEVEN HUGHES is the guy to talk to! Steve sold me a car a few months ago and it runs great. I got a great deal on my car. My husband thought so as well and he would know. Believe me lol. Steve was very friendly and helpful with deciding what car would be best for me. Many choices on the lot. If you want great service and a great car go see Steve!

What a great experience! I moved back to Hawaii in May and I was looking for a car to purchase. It was going to be my first car and I wanted something affordable and reliable. When I visited Choice Automotive, I was greeted warmly and everyone was very professional and courteous. Of course, as a first time buyer I was worried but I was pleasantly surprised by the level of customer service and expertise. The salesperson helping me was Anh Tu, he was extremely courteous and I found my worries melting away. I finally decided on a 2008 Honda Civic (with only 21,000 miles on it). I’m so happy with my purchase. I use my «Silver Bullet» to commute to work in Waianae and go to school in town. The people at Choice Automotive efficiently facilitated my purchase.
It’s been over 3 months since I got my Silver Bullet and I can say with confidence that I made the right Choice.

So far the best car lot I’ve ever been to… This is my 4^th vehicle purchase & this was the most superior customer service that I’ve ever experienced. From the 1^st call when I had inquired about vehicles, Sean was very professional & helpful. To test driving the vehicle with Steven, very polite. To Gavin with giving me the deals then last to William for going over & beyond to get me the best rate on my loan with an extended warrantee that I’m happy with. Fastest, most satisfying customer service car lot that I’ve ever been to. Thanks everyone!

GO TO ANOTHER CAR DEALERSHIP!!! The worst place to go if you want to purchase a vehicle. Of course like any car dealership you will get «customer service», but just wait until you actually sign your loan and get your vehicle. If you run through any problems with your car expect absolutely NO help. All the 5 star reviews are from close family and friends. Trust me and trust the other 1 star reviews.
All I was looking for was a reliable car to get me from point A to B, something that will actually keep running for at least a couple years, especially when I’m paying almost $ 500 a month for 4 years… For a 2005 Altima!.. I expect it to run for a while. Or at least some help fixing the damn thing when it breaks down, but if this happens to you, you’ll probably hear «we don’t know what you did with the car after you drove off the lot» which is understandable, but at the amount I’m paying? Come on. «Customer service» is what they strive for? Maybe before you purchase, but once you purchase? I can’t do anything but laugh at their service. Save yourself and don’t be dumb like I was, it was my first car purchase and I didn’t know a lot and how to, but this is probably the worst experience a person buying their first car can experience. Constant headaches.

The salesman that we started initially working with, Tomas Pak is a pretty cool and very respectable person who seems like he did his best to try and work to get us in a vehicle with our down payment we have available. We had visited some weeks ago looking for a Scion XB but sadly we didn’t have enough down payment to get into that vehicle. We had asked Tomas to keep in touch with us when he got in an XB that would be closer to our approved price range and our down payment. Well just yesterday we had been contacted by Tomas saying that he WAS ABLE to get us into a slightly older model XB and we could drive home that day. I’m assuming that in order to get us into said vehicle, they would drop the price on the vehicle to match the required down payment needed by the bank. He told us that he had been working with his manager and all the numbers worked. Well when we got there we went thru the typical numbers game again and took a test drive. Now here comes the effed up part that will guarantee we won’t ever be buying a vehicle from here, regardless of how good a price it would be but I doubt that would ever be the issue. «Gavin» which we were assuming was either the manager or financing manager that day had come back with some ridiculous numbers that were completely different than we had been anticipating. I tried to haggle the price down telling him all the things that was supposedly all set by Tomas and the manager that he had worked with the the day before to make sure everything would be a right fit. He spouted out some stupid garbage about the XB being a highly sought after vehicle, but I doubt it you retard because $ 16k is WAY above the KBB price and the condition of the vehicle with no warranty was «good» at best. Dings on the door and fenders, yellowing headlights, a headliner than needed to be replaced due to excessive rubbing and wear and tear because of surf boards, obviously half arse job cleaning the interior sides of the doors, etc didn’t make this vehicle worth anywhere near the over inflated KBB price of $ 13k. Hey dummy, for $ 16k I can go to Scion and get a brand spanking new XB base with a warranty. He came back saying that our down payment was increased overnight to an additional $ 700!!! WTF? For $ 3k down we could get a new XB. Talk about bait and switch scam these idiots are running! I feel sorry for Tomas if he deals with this moron Gavin all the time. He probably gets sales blocked all the time because of Garvin. This jerk wanted the HIGHEST retail price for the vehicle because he’s a greedy biznitch. Rather than keeping to the word of whom ever Tomas was working with the day before, he comes in all hard nosed and tries to pull the wool over our eyes with this crap. You’re not dealing with an uneducated buyer dummy. It’s called research. Too bad they didn’t know that we need 2 vehicles and if they had worked with us under the terms agreed upon, we would’ve soon came back later this year to buy a second vehicle. Oh well its your loss. Luckily there are a ton on dealers on this island.
Trust us, save your time and money for someplace else worthwhile. I hope we can find a honest, trustworthy dealer elsewhere.
P. S. True market value for the year XB in good condition for Hawaii was $ 8500. Go to Edmunds dot com for a realistic value for vehicles and not trade in values only. KBB was $ 13,500 which is a joke. These guys are selling that vehicle for $ 17 000, and was doing us a «FAVOR» by dropping it all the way down to $ 16 000. Yeah you’re helping us out jackarse. sought after car is B. S. No damn Scion XB is considered highly sought after unless it was the Release series. I guess it’s so sought after that Scion discontinued this model after this year. What an idiot lying bastard.

Great place to buy a car! I just purchased my 2002 Volvo xc70 from them, and they made the application and financing soooo easy! They even offered me a extended warranty covering power train repairs. So now I have peace of mind for the length of my loan. I absolutely love this car. Many thanks to the Gavin, Tomas, and especially Nikki for financing, and selling me the car and warranty.

Please beware! Scam artists! Yes very nice at first… but horrible if anything goes wrong after purchase.
My husband and I bought a 2006 explorer. Within the first week the check engine lighyt popped on. Took it back to dealer. they had «their» guys look at it. They told us that this particular vehicle was set to «California standards» and because we were in hawaii the emission standards were difderent. They reset the engine light and we left. Two day later it popped back on, our car started to over heat and broke down. This time we took it to a ford mechanic. He said that our calabritic converter was not filtering the emmissions… he said that we also have the same standards as california!
They told us that becuse it was an 800 dollar fix. We thought good thing we bought the warranty. SIKE! The warranty covered nothing at all. Not even the rental car! After this incident we decided to get our money back for the warranty which cost 3000. Guess who is still waiting for there money?! We are. Its been close to 3 months. They blow usoff every time we call.
We actually called the warranty company directly to cancel. They were nice, took care of it in one phone call. They said they were going to fax the papers to the dealership all they needed to do was sign and send our refund to our lean holder.
Called our lean holder and they have still recieved nothing. They said the dealership has 30 days to process or they will be fined. So lets see if that happenens. Its already been 18 days.
By the way I hate that I have to give them 1 star to post.

This place is awesome! My first experience buying a car from a dealer will always be remembered as a good one. I bought a used BMW from Matt and throughout the whole process he was very friendly, professional, honest and helpful. When we encountered that the car wouldnt start when I picked it up Matt took us to the store and bought a brand new battery for it and installed it for me. When I signed up as a first time buyer with no credit score my interest rate/​APR was very high (24%) because of this. But after I bought the car the finance manager Nikki actually negotiated with some of the credit unions and found a bank that would offer me a 10.5% APR! So it reduced my monthly payments by so much! Now which car dealer would actually do this for a customer after they already signed up and bought the car? I was totally thrilled! This is true service. I will recommend to all my friends to buy from here. When I had to go back and see them and sign some papers everyone was saying hi to me by name, congratulating me on my car and asking how it was running, and taking care of me! This place is really great. Buy cars from them! You won’t be disappointed.

I could seriously write a freakin book about how many problems I’ve had with this dealership! But to keep it short I won’t go into details. I’ll just give u a list.
1. When I bought our car they said it had a coolant leak but their «mechanic» fixed it. 2 weeks later the radiator busted because it was NEVER fixed!
2. Their mechanic came to our house twice to fix the car. Both times he said he didn’t have the right part so he left to pick up the part and NEVER came back and has not answered any of our phone calls since! Our car has now been broken down for over 2 weeks!
3. We finally complained about not having a car to get to and from work etc. while our car was getting «fixed» and the rental they gave us had mechanical problems also! The check engine light was on, sometimes it wouldn’t start, and EVERYTIME u open the car door the alarm went off because the locks were messed up! They couldn’t even provide us with a safe and reliable rental car!
4. Our payments are completed messed up! Our payments were supposed to start dec. 18^th but they started taking money from our account nov. 15. So far they have taken 3 payments from us before our FIRST payment was even due!
My list of problems could on but like I said, I could write a book! Ps. Our car is STILL broken down and their mechanic has yet to fix shit!

Very professional, friendly, and chill people. I’m surprised there aren’t any reviews yet! As a 4^th year optometry student, I am in Hawaii for one of my medical rotations, and my colleagues and I have had a great experience the past year renting from Gabriel through Choice Automotive. Gabriel was very thorough and explained everything up front. Also, their prices can’t be beat, and this is paradise we’re talking about! I highly recommend Choice Automotive for anyone looking for longer-​term car rentals (like 2 months, in my case).
