I’m 12 and absolutely love anything kawaii such as squishies, shopkins, etc. I was very excited when my friends informed me that they sold those here, so I went with my dad… I never should have. We walk in, and I immediately notice the place is extremely cluttered and smells bad. That didn’t effect me as much as the woman at the front. When we walked in, I said«Hi!» to her and she didn’t even acknowledge me. It was still a cute shop, otherwise. The woman at the desk didn’t even ask if I needed help looking for anything, and I believe she was on her phone. I then saw bags marked«squishies» as I go to squish them. because what else would you do? They were just hello kitty cake toppers… hard as a rock. My question is, why would you mark a bag as squishies and not even place squishies inside?! How does that make sense?! As I walked out, I still mustered it inside me to say«Thank you! :)», and I was very nice. She didn’t acknowledge me, nor did she even look up from what she was doing. Overall, it’s a cute shop, but the mark things wrong and the customer service is absolutely sad. Honestly needs work.

Sales associate was helpful but didn’t have a clue on any of the prices. Had to keep calling her boss. The sales section is pretty misleading it says 1.99 charms for red tag but apparently all the red tag items are price as marked. Probably not going to come back.

Chic icon is the CUTEST little neighborhood shop in Hawaii Kai … the owner Mabel does a great job with the buying !!! Her Shopkins selection is reasonably priced and plentiful plus the store is stocked full of every kind of Sanrio type item any little(or big) girl could wish for :) So happy to be able to buy local and support one of my neighborhood small businesses… Mahalo Mabel !

Chic icon is amazing ! My daughter loves it and there’s always something to get ! They have a lot of totoro stuff which is really hard to find and a lot of cute school supplies as well ! The owners are very nice and helpful and I noticed they always get the latest edition of everything for the kids which is great definitely will be back with my daughter !

Its a locally owned shop and I guess theyre not always open according to the other reviews but whenever I went(which isn’t that many) they were always open and its the only store like this in the neighborhood and the perfect place for cute little things(gifts) for girls/moms who like this kind of hello kitty/tokidoki stuff.

Cute little shop located in the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center. I’ve read other reviews saying that they’re closed all the time. I haven’t experienced that. In fact, on my last visit they were open and when I asked what time they closed the girl said 6:30 and it was already 6:45. The open sign was still lit and the door was open. But I guess that’s a good thing because she made a sale. :o) They have cute hello kitty items, tokidoki knick knacks and more! I try to visit when I’m in the area.

If you’re looking for gifts for a Tokidoki, Hello Kitty, or Rilakkuma lover, then this place is it. The problem though, like others have said, is that sometimes they are closed for no reason. When that happens, it is particularly frustrating since you probably drove all the way down to Koko Head just for this. Prices are decent here and they don’t have a huge markup on these items. Sometimes they also have a good clearance section. I suggest calling before heading down to this store if you want to pick up something. 100 Reviews, 1 Day 54⁄100 January 12, 2013

It’s 330p on a Thursday. Drove all the way to Hawaii kai to go to this store specifically. They are CLOSED! seriously?! The hours posted reads from 11a to 630p. Its 330p! The hours posted are already bad enough to try to even get to the store and now they just close when ever? Wow…

A great store — very cute… WHENIT’S OPEN. It’s a bit frustrating because if you don’t live in the area. make sure you call first before you take the LONG drive out there only to find that the store is closed due to a «staffing issue». They open late and close early so anyone who has a job probably won’t be able to make it out here unless it’s over the weekend and again… refer to my first paragraph. It’s amazing, with what I assume must be a high lease, that they are able to pay their rent seeing that their store is closed most of the times. Perhaps when the store hours are a bit more customer friendly I’ll revisit my review… until gas prices go down not worth the drive especially if they might not be open.

This cute shop is located in Koko Marina Shopping Center near Kokonuts Shave Ice and Cookies Clothing Co. They have a ton of merchandise from Tokidoki clothing, Crocs, Food stickers and erasers, cute tiny tablets, trinkets galore and other cute Japanese merchandise. Perfect place for gifts or just if you love cute Japanese things! You just want to smile when you look at all their merchandise. Their only downfall, customer service is horrendous. For all the times I’ve been in there, you are barely acknowledged, and many times with no greeting at all or even a friendly smile. They’ll be sitting or standing behind their computer/register. Also if you have a stroller, it’s real hard to go in and out of their door, since there’s a strange small steep slope that leads to their pull/push glass door.
