History
Established in 1977.
After graduating from University, founder, Takemura Katsuhide worked as a corporate businessman in Yokohama but was hospitalized at age 25 due to stress from work. While in the hospital, he happened to see a 2-minute television program on bakers that would change his life forever. After being discharged from the hospital, he returned to his life as a corporate businessman but also began training at a popular German bakery in his neighborhood during the weekends. After nearly 6 years of training, he returned to Sapporo, Hokkaido, and opened BRUG. He visited various European countries, acquiring recipes and techniques along the way, and creating original recipes of his own. He is a baker who has baked additive-free, low-calorie breads for over 35 years using his own technique, a product of his numerous life experiences.
