Brothers in Valor Memorial

Located near the corner of Kalakaua Avenue and Saratoga Road, we’ve passed this memorial many times that honors World War II American Japanese veterans whose «roots» are in Hawai’i. These men served with their highest honor and some paid with the ultimate sacrifice in 4 highly decorated and honored units. The 4 honored units are: 100^th Infantry Battalion, 442^nd Regimental Combat Team, Military Intelligence Service and 1399^th Engineer Construction Battalion.
This memorial was was conceived by Judy M. Weightman who served on the O’ahu AJA Veterans’ Council. Her efforts became a reality as this memorial was dedicated in 1995.
It is worth your time to stop by to read each unit’s dedication plaque and learn about how these men became called «Brothers in Valor».
