What did I really expect. It’s a chain, one strike against it before I walk in the door. The bread was refrigerator cold. Yuck. Two strikes. The egg salad had NO seasoning, not even salt. It was beyond bland. Three strikes.

this after noon my husband and i came for lunch my husband wanted to order a roastbeef sandwich the person who service him said they ran out of roastbeef. so my husband order another sandwich with bacon that suppose to be «CRISPY» ITWASNT at all. but my husband didnt want to return it he was just to hungry to returned it. but you shouldnt ran out of meat and tell em oh you have to choose another, let them know ahead of time on what you out of or put a sign out and let the costumer know on what is out and just make sure your bacon is crispy next time but at least the service was there.

Now, I’m not one to just become a fan of a sandwich chain however the downtown Blimpie is certainly different and noteworthy. It offers the standard Blimpie menu at reasonable prices(for downtown anyway) and quick and good service that sets it apart from the rest. Whatever sandwich from their menu that strikes you, I’ve found that the meats are thinly cut and well layered. Then topped with an array of very fresh and crisp vegetables to your liking. Its the freshness of their vegetables which has really impressed me, especially for such a small shop. The prices are reasonable, especially for downtown which makes its a very good choice in my book. However, its service is where it truly shines. The staff make the sandwiches quickly and keep the lines moving(when there is one). That is much welcomed in downtown when time is of the essence!

If you go when the owner Jennie is working, you will receive consistantly friendly service. If Jennie is not there, the service is average/goood. One thing that is constant and consistant is the freshness of the ingredients. I’ve gone to other sandwich shops(Subways, Blimpies, Quiznos, etc) where I noticed some veggies were not crisp/fresh. At this downtown Blimpie location, the veggies have always looked freshly cut. I’ve never had to check out the quality of the veggies to look which were fresh and which were not. This location also offers daily specials which are listed on a sheet of paper near where you place your order. You can get a six inch sandwich for under $ 4.00. This is a welcome sight downtown where you can expect to spend $ 7 to $ 8 for a simple lunch. This is a good, reliable option if you work or are visiting downtown.

Korean-owned Blimpie’s which does garner a good crowd during lunch time. The sandwiches were so-so. My Reuben sandwich which was grilled did not have enough pastrami OR sauerkraut. The sandwich almost fell apart when I was eating it even though the grilling had melted the cheese. It’s a fast alternative although there are other choices such as Korean food, sushi, Mexican, Jack in the Box and a sandwich shop in the same strip.
