ok give me a break… here’s what u get with a standard steak plate. two scoops rice, salad, and thin cut pieces of steak that are plopped(already cooked) from a tray onto a heated grill. u can add all the fixins like a1 steak sauce, etc. don’t know why these places are popping up all over hawaii, but i don’t think they will do so well. much cheaper to make something at home and then bring to work… microwave oven it… blazin steaks sucks the biggest!!!

Fried noodle steak plate was alright. The steak was pretty good, but fried noodle was just meh. $ 10 for 2 scoops of rice, fried noodles with steak… didn’t think it was worth it.

I’m a little disappointed at the quality recently… seems like the prices are going up and the pieces are getting smaller and smaller. By no means do I expect a $ 5.00 plate… I get it… times are hard. I’d pay the extra two dollars for the quality they had when Blazing Steaks first opened. Now the steak is tough… sparsely seasoned and they only give enough dressing for ¼ of the salad. I supposed I’d go there again… if I want a snack… cause their«regular» plate is perfect for a small child… not a hungry adult. Ope — Update. their Ala Moana Food Court location closed.

do i really have to give them any stars? i get that it’s the holidays and the mall has long hours, but that doesn’t mean it’s ok to be unprepared and serve disgusting food! i ordered the steak plate, simple enough… went to pay with a $ 20 bill and they didn’t have change… ok…plastic it is. they pulled the precooked, presliced steak, medium cooked steak out of a chafing dish(not being kept warm) and threw it on the griddle. Overcooked beef, here we come. I chose italian dressing… it’s meh, but my salad wasn’t cut, i had a quarter of a head of lettuce in my plate that they had no knife for me to cut with! i asked for a bag and a napkin… surprise! «we’re all out of them»…the«cook» and cashier weren’t rude, but weren’t making an effort to be nice either. so i sit down to eat my overcooked steak and rice and find a clumpy, gooey, mushy mess of what i’m guessing is supposed to be rice. BLECH!!! you can be sure i will not be eating here again… so dissapointing

At the mall and I was hungry, so I thought I would try these guys. Not my best thought. Steak looked like steakum, chicken was precooked and rubbery. Neither had good flavor. What a waste. Go to histeaks on Kuhio instead.

Recently went here with the homie Armand for lunch. It wasn’t that bad. I was expecting for it to be a long line and wait but the timing of the order and delivery of the food was pretty good. I like how they don’t jack up the prices here and stay true to their $ 6 steak plates despite their location in the tourist haven of Ala Moana. They have a special value deal for the steak plate at $ 5.95. The plate was quite filling. You can see them cook it and prepare it on the spot. Sometimes I get chicken or fish. The greens are pretty good too. Even though the steak is not top notch like hardcore steak eaters like it to be it’s not that bad. It’s conveniently located right next to Jamba Juice in the food court so it is pretty easy to spot the kiosk. Unilocal 365 Challenge #27/365

Meh… Okay so is it just me or when Blazin’ Steaks first came out weren’t they much better? I just ate here last night and I’m not sure it’s even steak anymore! The meat looked more like teri beef slices and not the good old steak they used to have. I’m under the impression that this company has tried to cut costs and gone with a lower grade of beef. It was a lot more fatty and thinner than usual. NOT impressed at all! I will be cooking my steak at home from now on thank you!

A cheap steak, with rice and salad. Not bad when you are hungry, but not the best food I’ve ever had.

#700 Since I noticed that there were so many of these restaurants around the island(must be good, right?), I decided to try it at the Ala Moana food court. I usually get Bi Bim Bap from Yummy Korean BBQ(my go-to dish at this mall), but I wanted something different this time. So I ordered the fish(opaka) Spicy Korean that came with salad(three choices(ranch/1000 island/italian), I opted for ranch and rice for about $ 6.00– a good deal. For the plates, you choose the meat, the flavoring, & the salad dressing and in what size– I got the regular plate. The lady told us it would be about 5 – 6 minutes. The line got long after my order was placed(a good sign?). It was lunch time. Since I knew beforehand that my order would take longer, I didn’t mind waiting. The short wait was worth it. Like most plate lunches, it’s served in a takeout container. There were two pieces of fish. The white fish was so tender and the spice(and sweetness) was just right. I did pick off the dull silver skin, which took me longer to consume, but I didn’t mind it. I think this was the first time I had opaka– I really liked it. The salad, which was green and fresh(not wilted lettuce with gross brown edges which I dislike), was a good sized portion. I left some of the rice, but ate the korean spice sauce doused rice though(no sense in wasting the sauce). There were three people working there. The two people at the counter were pleasant young ladies, a little reserved, while the cook looked to be a baby faced teenager– kudos to him, though, ’cause my fish was pretty good. The food container bins were full and not messy. The counters were clean. No free refills although the soda station is located at the counter. I will definitely try this place again, maybe the next trip.

Disgusting. And disgusting that it’s getting this high of a rating! Blah, not fond of eating cold steak despite seeing the«cook» reheat the already pre-cooked steak slices. And the dressing for the salad was just nasty. Nothing special at all and really wouldn’t eat here again!

The steak plate for lunch is a pretty good deal. Their breakfast offering is an even better deal. Tasty food for a decent price. What’s not to like? The service. Damn, this place could go for a service overhaul I swear. I remember standing in front of the register while a girl was staring at me. I didn’t know what to order for breakfast since they just started serving it, and I finally made my decision on what to order. I told her that I’d like the two egg breakfast, scrambled, with bacon and fried rice. She gives me a puzzled look and replies with, «We ain’t open yet.» What the eff. If you«ain’t» open, then say something earlier damnit! I just wasted five minutes of my time. And I wouldn’t have wasted my time if she had said something. Or if they at least had a sign with their hours of operation. But she didn’t, and they don’t. Thanks Blazin’ Steaks.

It’s now $ 6.50 for a regular plate(no drink included anymore), which still seems like a bargain to me! I haven’t tried other locations, but this one still serves good food for a good price. The portions are large and good quality.

Once again, another gem at the Ala Moana Center’s food court. The steak at Blazin’ Steaks has a very good taste/seasoning/marinade, and the portion size is more than generous for the price. The hardest part is deciding between Blazin’ Steaks and Lahaina Chicken Company!

Food is good for the price, but the service is why I give it a 1 star. Talk about crappy service without a smile. What’s worse, is that the girl saw me next in line, walks a few feet to move plates, at that time, the counter gets bum rushed by a Japanese tourist. Obviously I’m next because the tourist completely ignored the line behind me, there is even that barrier to snake the line, and the tourist is coming in the exit side of the line. Cashier services him before me. It’s like what the hell!!!

Holy smokes! When hubby & I sat down with our $ 6 steaks, we were not expecting much beyond edibleness. But wow! They were so good and tender and juicy! They far surpassed the Outback Steakhouse overpriced hockey puck I’d had just a week earlier. I mean, really. It melted like buttah. How do they do it? I don’t know. I just know it was good and both of us were very happy afterward.

let’s start out with what i would hope is obvious: a $ 6 steak plate from blazin’ steaks is not going to be of the same quality as a $ 60 steak from a steakhouse. yes, i’ve had both, yes i understand the difference, no i do not think that enjoying one means you have no business ever eating the other. now that that’s out of the way, i have to say i was impressed — the steak was pretty good, cooked medium rare like i asked, decent quality meat, and ITWAS $ 6. when you think about the fact that mcdonald’s here costs at least that, this place seems like even more of a steal.

i LOVE steak. I read these reviews and thought that’s where i should be. WRONG! Lemme tell ya who should eat here: People who don’t know steak People who can’t cook People who don’t know what the eff salt and pepper is OR… People who are all of the above AND don’t have a Times Supermarket nearby. These steak plates are the SAME thing as the Times steak plate. They offer the SAMETHING except Times gives you a FREE drink and dressing on the side. This was such a boring place to eat… been there, done that and know that my 10 year old kid can make a better steak. This truly is the McDonald’s of steak…(sorry mcdonald’s) Like i said, if ya NEVER had a GREAT steak in your life, then bon appetit! This place is for you. haha.

I did not like the Windward Mall one at all, cuz the steak was super dry and tasteless. I thought I would give this location a try. Their steak was waaaaay better. I got the steak and fish mix, but the fish kinda grossed me out. The fish seemed like the cheapy fish and had the skin on it which totally grossed me out big time! Thank god the steak was pretty awesome for $ 7. The korean bbq sauce on the steak makes it really, really yum in the tum! What the heck, I pour the korean bbq sauce over my rice as well. My husband tried the steak and garlic shrimp, but don’t get the shrimp. It is pretty tasteless, no garlic flavor or anything. They gave a lot of rice and tossed salad and the steak portion was pretty good. Considering how expensive Makai Market has gotten, the regular steak place for $ 6 is a steal!
