The selection and inventory was very nice, and the sales staff were helpful without being pushy.
However, after purchase the tile took 9 weeks to deliver when the original estimate was 5 – 6 weeks. That would have been ok except that when I called after 6 weeks for eta, they said it was on island and would be unloaded that week. What followed was 3 weeks of «I’ll call you right back» or «leave a message and someone will get back to you.» And it never comes back that day. It takes two or three tries to get ahold of someone and the only person to call back is the owner.
The WORST PART when the tile finally came in only half the order came in. When I asked where the rest was, there was some confusion as to where it was. Then the owner called and said it would be in on Tuesday morning after a long weekend! When I picked it up, it was not the tile I ordered, in fact it was from Lowes! Which was ¹⁄₃ the price of the tile I purchased from them and she tried to pass it off as what I ordered.

Got great customer service from Megan and this place has what Home Depot doesn’t. More detailed better quality, do have to wait for shipping (only reason no 5 stars) new location is nice. I used there flooring for my shower floor. Stones from indo and not overly priced.

After watching too much HGTV and having our first new kitchen, my fiancé and I are in the market for a glass tile backsplash. After looking at the Big Box home improvement stores, I suggested we check out Bella Pietra.
A locally owned company by the same owners of Geobunga, this is a great boutique store selling flooring of all sorts (from beautiful marble to granite and quartz) plus lots of natural slate/​stone for outdoor applications. In addition, they have the largest and most diverse inventory of glass and ceramic backsplashes I’ve seen. The owner, Layla is very friendly and helpful and even let me take the color sample charts (with real tiles) home so we could test against our granite.
While prices run high because these are designer lines of tiles and flooring, I believe you pay for what you get. We haven’t decided 100% yet but we know we will be going to Bella Pietra when we decide. SUPPORT THE LOCALS!!!

The people that own this store awesome they care about the person and the individual so much. Even though they couldn’t help me as an individual they actually guided me to someone who could and it was priceless thank you so much.

I had found a particular quartz slab at another stone store. After I was given the price breakdown for the material alone, and the cost of the fabrication and installation, I believed I could just buy the slab separately and have it fabricated and installed by my own, willing contractor. It was for a rental, and the window for the job was admittedly tight. I needed new flooring, new cabinets and a new countertop — to be powered out in a 10 day period, between renters. I had secured the flooring and the cabinets and the contractor. Everything was set to go… UNTIL, I learned from the first stone store that I COULD NOT buy the quartz counter-​top separately without having them also fabricate and install it. I learned that once the cabinets were set, THEN this other company would come out to measure, and THEN it would take 3 weeks to fabricate and install. «Nooooooooooooooo! No. Nooooooooooo!» I didn’t have that kind of time. I was about ready to call the whole thing off, and reschedule the project for late summer, when there was another vacancy in the rental. It was a complicated situation since this renovation was prompted by a flood disaster caused by the negligence of an unrelated company. Everyone was anxious to get the job done as soon as possible, so as not to prolong the negative impact on my rental business. I called Bella Pietra, convinced the plan could not be salvaged in time. The window was now only 9 days. Layla answered my call and she very quickly informed me that she knew exactly which quartz it was that I wanted, and that she happened to have a slab of it on hand. She also assured me that she thought one of her preferred fabricators and installers would be available to get the job done on time! So, my contractor was able to get the cabinets set by Monday, May 4^th, which is when Layla’s fabrication referral, Roger, came out to measure. The new counter-​top was installed on Thursday, May 7^th. The impact of the quartz is outrageous and luxurious. The cut-​outs for the under-​mount sink, faucet, cooktop and electrical outlets were superb. This was definitely the splurge piece on an other-​wise inexpensive renovation. The product and service were top-​notch. I am thrilled with the transformation of my space. I am now ready to renovate my own kitchen, and I will definitely rely on Bella Pietra for my materials and installation. Thank you, Layla!

It has taken me 8 months before I could calm down enough to write a reviewI I would give the company zero stars if I could.
Would a 9 month wait time acceptable to you?
I would never recommend Bella Pietra to anyone. They display and SELL stone that is no longer in stock and they are extremely unresponsive.
In early December 2013, I ordered and PAID IN FULL some beautiful stone (Rainforest Green), in a 12×24″ size, that was displayed in their showroom in addition to some other glass tile. We were going to use the stone for our kitchen floor. It was expensive, but it was beautiful and we designed our kitchen around the color and texture. In late January/​early Feb 2014 (about 8 – 9 weeks), I was informed that the tile was on order and that I should get it in a couple of weeks. This was one of the only two phone calls that would be initiated by the company. A couple weeks later, I called the salesperson, and I was informed that it would be arriving in a few days. I called in a few days, and found out that it was the GLASS tile would be arriving shortly, not the stone. This was in February. I asked about the stone and the salesperson said that she would have to talk to the warehouse manager to see when that would be coming in. I called in a couple of days after I didn’t hear from her. I left a message for her to call me back. She called me back the next day (second and last phone call that the company initiated) and said their vendor no longer carried the product. I was very angry. I told her that we were counting on the tile since we had designed our kitchen around it and had already ordered and paid for our cabinets and countertop! She said she would see what they could do. I called back a few days later and after many unreturned phone calls, I got a hold of her and she said that they would be able to provide us with 12×12 tile that they could get us in a couple of weeks. I told her that that was unacceptable to us. After many more calls into the company without any returned phone calls, I got a hold of the salesperson. She said that they would be able to order the tile directly from the manufacturer in India.
Long story short, after about 20 calls to the company without any returned calls (I am NOT exaggerating!!) and our contractor calling the company and finally talking to the owner, Layla, we received our stone tile in AUGUST 2014!!! (A few days of the delay was the result of the shipping strike). This was 9 months after our order date. The late delivery held up the completion of our project by at least a month. I talked to the owner about some compensation and she agreed to work something out, with the comment that, in hindsight, they should have cancelled our order and offered the 12×12″ size to us. After a couple of emails to follow up on the offer of compensation, I gave up.
If you do decide to go with this company, make sure they call their vendor to see if the product is in stock before you pay for anything. Make sure you have a LOT of leeway in your construction schedule, and do not expect any phone calls to be returned.
After I shared my story with some co-​workers, they shared their experiences with me. I heard negative stories from two of my co-​workers about incredibly poor service, many unreturned phone calls, delays in delivery and vendor not carrying product anymore. One of my co-​workers said he was particularly disappointed because he wanted to give the business to the company because the owner was a former student in his management class that he taught. I wish they had shared this info beforehand.
I must say that Layla was very nice, her company just didn’t deliver what it promised and she keeps employees that are unresponsive and appear not to know what is going on with their client orders. The receptionist is awesome. I am sorry I don’t remember her name. (I remember now. It is Kuulei). I was on the phone with her more than anyone else and she often (I think she did), tried to find whoever I was trying to get a hold of and left many many message for me. The warehouse person was also very nice, when I stopped by several times to see if the tile had come in.
6÷18÷2015: Layla contacted me after my review was posted to offer compensation for my experience. After a few emails back and forth, we worked out an arrangement that was acceptable to both of us. In addition, she offered a discount on any future purchases. Layla sent me a very nice letter and I believe to be a sincere apology.

I can’t even explain the embarrassment that Bella Pietra has caused me as a professional. My client was required to pay full price for his granite counter tops being assured by Bella Pietra that they would be delivered in a few weeks. That was three months ago, and we are still waiting. I can’t even get a call back from them. Awful. I am informing every contractor that I know, of their incompetence. I would definitely recommend an alternate retailer for your stone and tile needs. DONT GO HERE!

My neighbor is selling their townhouse at a premium. They chose Rainforest marble for their kitchen and baths. Without a doubt, it is expensive, but it wow-​ed us and potential buyers. I like dirt cheap bargains, but seeing the my neighbors showcase kitchen, it opened my eyes.
I want the look of a high end kitchen and not the standard issue popular 15 years ago. When I stopped by to look at marble slabs, I didn’t realize they had a killer Craig’s List sale going since they were moving locations. I went back today to look at marble again and I practically stole their tile and trim.
I was impressed with the tatt-​ed Sales Lady. She was so kind. We took turns babysitting my 1.5 year old and hauling heavy 3 qty. x 40 lb tile boxes to my car since the warehouse guy was at lunch. No matter if I was a $ 2k or $ 40 customer, I was treated well. Thanks so much!

We did not purchase stones here but they have beautiful countertop stones. They seem to have some deals on Craigslist sometimes.

We placed an order in December, was told full payment was required and arrival would take 4 – 6 weeks. Needless to say, the 6 weeks turned into 8 weeks after repeated follow up and what finally dawned on me as runaround excuses. I was starting to get a little suspicious about the situation and decided to see if there might be any BBB complaints on file. Negative, BUT lo and behold … i find all these Unilocal instead and now I’m extremely nervous about having prepaid for something that I may never receive. I jump on it. I pay a visit to the store the very next day and request a refund. There is no resistance but I am told that the accountant needs to process the credit back to my charge card. Another flag. I don’t get the email promised me to confirm the credit back so I call the store. They say it was processed and they will email me. I receive the email right away and double check my credit card account to be sure. Whew! That was close! They have wonderful products and the sales staff is very helpful and personable, but there’s just something eerie about the business. Too bad …

We needed tile right away, so we visited Bella Pietra with high hopes. Sadly, their in stock selection is very, very limited. The tiles I liked had to be special ordered and we were told the shipment won’t be in for about 8 weeks maybe longer. The saleslady was courteous and tried to be helpful (checking stock etc. and suggesting alternatives) but ultimately, we left disappointed with the selection. In general, their prices also seem to be at the higher end.

I honestly wish I could give a review about Bella Pietra’s stone but it’s really hard to do that when I never received the products that I ordered/​paid for…

I «purchased» an order for 2 large slabs of stone for counter tops back in July 2012. I was building an office on Oahu and ordered it while I was still living in Michigan. I was told that I needed to pay for it quickly to ensure that the slabs would be placed in the next container for shipment. It was estimated to take about 4 – 6 weeks to arrive and I would receive a call when it came in.
6 weeks pass and no word from the sales rep. 8 weeks pass and I leave a message for the sales rep… no return phone call.
It’s now the end of SEPTEMBER and I still have no idea what is going on with my order. I end up leaving 2 more messages and still no response.
I get a call from the rep in mid OCTOBER telling me that she no longer works at Bella Pietra. She proceeds to tell me that my order came in but the wrong slabs were shipped… WTF!!! WHEN WERE THEY GOING TO TELL ME THIS? She instructs me to call the manager and try to get a refund. TRY? Indeed…
I ended up getting in touch with the «manager» around the end of NOVEMBER and explain that I wanted a full refund for the product that I paid for but never received. She says that she will have her accounting dept issue a refund back to the bank where I was taking out a business loan.
2 weeks pass and no refund. I called back again, ask about the refund, and end up getting some b.s. excuse about not having the bank address on file so they couldn’t send the check. I have my bank project manager call with the information
AND send an email with all the information. I even make sure that the banker explains that I am paying a 1% interim interest rate on the $ 5,000+ dollars that was paid to Bella Pietra (hoping that they would get the refund back as quickly as possible). I never even asked for them to pay the accrued interest.
3 more weeks pass and no refund. It’s now the end of DECEMBER and I am now on Oahu. I leave a message on the manager’s voicemail stating that I will have my attorney get involved… IT’S LIKE MAGIC! I GET A CALL BACK WITHIN 24 HOURS.
Same old lines… «we will have the refund sent out… we never received the address from the bank… blah blah blah» All while I’m staring at the email he sent 3 weeks ago. Another email is sent from the bank with all the information needed to receive the check.
2 more weeks pass and still nothing… BTW, IT’S JANUARY.
I called for the last time and said I was coming to their store to pick up the check the next day; if the check was not ready I would have my attorney contact them. I get a call back from the manager saying that the refund check could not be ready for me to pickup until the following week. (I’m about ready to start hulking out and destroying things). I demand to know why it has taken this long and a stammering response of «I just forgot, I’m sorry» comes out. I am told that the accountant will call me when the check is ready «sometime next week».
JANUARY 24^th, 2013… I HAVE THE REFUND CHECK FOR the $ 5,000+ I feel like I’m dreaming… dry land is not a myth…

In hindsight, I should have taken them to small claims court to get back the 1% interim interest that was accrued from the loan ($ 350) and for my time having to deal with this idiocy. I was too patient and trying to be too nice. I never received the stone and now I actually owe $ 350 in interest. AWESOME…
I will never step foot in this place. I will never refer friends or family. I will never have anything good to say about Bella Pietra.

If you need stone in Hawaii this is the place! The friendliest, nicest people work here. We were adding onto an existing patio and needed stone. Dawn helped us with the order and was so patient with all our indecision, questions and numerous visits. She even suggested some money saving ideas. Cy and Bojo, in the warehouse, could not have been nicer. They dropped what they were doing to help me, twice (!), one stone at a time, dig through a crate to find the right sized stepping stones. Cy even re-​opended the warehouse when I arrived just as he was closing up one day… and was as nice as on any other day. Who does that??? And we couldn’t be happier with the stone… the patio looks fanastic! I highly recommend Bella Pietra!

Over priced low quality stone with bad service to boot.

I had been in Bella Pietra a few times in the past while kicking the tires with some ideas but recently needed to make some decisions on a major project. I was lucky enough to show up on a day when there was an excellent sale and purchased almost 1400 ft of tile at a very fair price. I found the quality of product and selection to be outstanding at Bella Pietra but that isn’t what separates this business. Not only did I have a great sales person named Don (woman) but the owner Andrew stepped in and spent far more time than I could have ever expected helping me. He offered lots of ideas, made calculations, suggested installation techniques and was an overall great guy. With the size of their operations and volume of customers I would never expect the owner to be so engaged. I highly recommend their business.
