Today, as a visiting Grandma, I attended a baby group music class. As a former pre-​school teacher, I can verify that teacher Mayu’s approach is right on the mark. Her playlist of songs is entertaining for the children and adults alike. Her staff, Ashley and Samantha, were accommodating and pleasant. I enjoyed a delicious cup of Jasmine pearl tea as my heart was warmed by the sharing of music and community, which included my daughter, my granddaughter, and a circle of other babies, moms, and one proud dad. I highly recommend this class.

Amazing experience!!! The owners are incredibly helpful and genuinely care about what’s best for you and your baby. I attended their baby wearing workshop and they took the time to go over multiple carriers and wraps and help fit each individual baby. A real personal touch which is hard to find elsewhere. Also, it’s a free service !!! They have soooo many unique, locally made items for you and baby. Oh, and as a bonus, they have such yummy food and drinks… homemade refreshing watermelontini anyone? I’ll be back for sure!!!

This place saved me and my sanity as a first time mother. Maria and Mayu are AMAZING. I felt lost on everything, thankfully I stumbled on this place at my lowest. Maria and Mayu are so knowledge on EVERYTHING baby. Maria offers a in store doula service which is better then an baby book you have ever read. Mayu has a baby jam session weekly on Tuesdays that makes your week start out fantastic. The food is SO good! The teas are amazing! I tell every and any parent about this place daily because it’s just been such a blessing to me.

The best. The music awareness class every Tuesday is better than any episode of Sesame Street ever!!! Mayu is a blessing to the Keiki and adults alike… with talent that goes far beyond the horizon! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Tell them Legacy Klink (our daughter) sent you!!! OxO

Boy was I clueless about baby wearing and cloth diapering!
One trip to Baby aWearness is not enough to learn about baby-​related things. If you’re even slightly curious about baby wearing or CDing, you’ll need to make a trip to this store/​café/​learning center/​reuse store. The owner and their sales staff are extremely knowledgeable about CDing and baby wearing techniques and brands. They let you try on the carriers, and practice CDing on a stuffed animal. Take advantage of their work shops and classes. And if you’re overwhelmed by all the information, take a break and have a smoothie, which are delicious!
They have gently used maternity and baby clothes for sale. You could also name your price on some of them. They sell baby toys, dishes, books, blankies and more. They even do gift registry.
Find them on the second floor within the Manoa shopping complex.

If you or someone close to you is expecting, head up to Manoa Marketplace when you get a chance. I cannot recommend this place enough. It’s not just a store with baby clothes and stuff, it’s a starting point for learning and practicing your new healthy lifestyle with baby. Have a smoothie (love the green one!) or one of their many blended teas, such as red raspberry leaf for the mama-​to-​be (research the benefits!!) They have workshops teaching about cloth diapers, various baby carriers, etc. for free. The owner Maria is also an experienced doula, she helped me during my homebirth, with breastfeeding, and encapsulated my placenta. She really knows her stuff so it’s not like buying something from walmart or amazon, you get her expertise as well. I used to shy away from this place because of the prices, which have come down a lot with the new ownership, but when you factor in all the information and help you’ll get, it really is a great deal.

This place is amaaaaaazing. The staff is very friendly and so much cool baby stuff. Made out like a bandit with some books, a new baby carrier, and an amber necklace. The staff was very knowledgeable. Looking forward to going back for there music lessons.

This place is friendly and accommodating. The food is fresh, light and healthy. The drinks are creative and very refreshing with an wonderful selection of teas. The owners are friendly and welcoming! I would definitely return to this hidden gem! The location is at Manoa marketplace and I had no idea. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a break from the every day grind or a bite to eat or an awesome tea! I don’t really have any connection to the baby side of the store, but it’s clean and organized (a good sign of how they prepare their food). Awesome experience! Thanks guys!

Love, love, love this store! They are locally owned, very green, and customer service is amazing! Their prices are comparable to Amazon, without the wait, and the bonus of keeping your money in Hawaii.

Recently, I went in after an horrible experience with my obgyn and asked for other alternatives. The staff was able to help me find an alternative caregiver. I’m completely satisfied. They are amazing in every way!

Being a new mom, I’m always experimenting with what to use on my daughter. From making home made wipes to buying more headbands than she’ll probably ever need in her entire life, I really enjoy keeping myself busy with all things baby.
My newest interest, much to the dismay of my boyfriend, is cloth diapers! I had always considered using them, but something about having to wash all those diapers put me off to it. My interest was piqued again a few days ago and off I went into cloth diaper land. It’s such a new concept to me that I did hours of research and looked through so many of the diaper options that my head was beginning to hurt. And, to make things worse, I still wasnt anywhere close to feeling comfortable in choosing which diaper to use. I was actually about to order a trial of different cloth diapers from a website (which would have taken weeks to come in) when I stumbled upon baby awearness’ website!
I drove to Manoa to check it out and was warmly greeted by Mayu. I asked her about cloth diapers and she showed me their selection. She must have spent a good 20 – 30 minutes talking with me about the different options and about liners and all-​in-​ones and detergent and linen bags and, and, and. It went on. I was so happy to be able to physically see and feel the diapers and talk to someone who is so knowledgeable about them! I got there a little before closing time, but Mayu told me to take my time and never made me feel rushed or like I had to buy anything right then. I eventually ended up getting a couple of different ones to try out thanks to her!
I didn’t really get to look around too much since I was so focused on the diapers, but I did see a cute diaper bag that I NEED TO HAVE. Next time I’ll be sure to get there a little earlier so I can get a better look around.
I will be coming back again! Hopefully my boyfriend will get the hint that momma needs a new diaper bag!

I stumbled across Baby Awearness today and it was one of those «if you need it enough, it shows up in your life» experiences. I was really hoping to buy some consignment maternity wear as things are starting to just kinda not fit around the belly anymore. But hadn’t had the time to go find a good one yet. We were walking by and I saw some maternity clothes in the window, so we wandered in. I had no idea what kind of baby store I had walked into, thinking the maternity clothes were going to be ridiculously high end. I start browsing the maternity rack and everything was so reasonably priced, but the condition of the clothes on the rack were like new… so I had to ask and indeed, it was part of their community exchange, i.e. consignment! SCORE!
I had my son with me and he’s energetic and a real talker. He found a book to buy, looked through their kids play area, and then just hung out with everyone in the store while I tried on clothes. We felt very welcome, even as some regulars came in to start their music class and my son kept curiously poking his nose into their business.
And they have wifi and a café… I will certainly be back to enjoy the café part of the store and all the wonderful natural baby stuff which I didn’t even have time to look at today! It was like a little piece of the Bay Area sprouted up in Manoa and was infused with Aloha! Just being in the store made me happy!
It’s on the second floor of the shopping center and you would never notice it from downstairs. It really was a magical coincidence!

This place is amazing! Everyone that works there is very friendly and informative with everything that they have in the store. I would highly recommend it to anyone that is expecting, has kids, or just loves good food and healthy drinks!

Cute store! The lades who work there are super friendly are really helpful. While everything is priced a bit higher than I would like to pay, I always compare with amazon, they have a good selection and lots of locally made stuff as well. They offer free classes for babywearing and cloth diapering need to check out, but have heard great things about them too. If it wasn’t so out of the way for me, I would visit more often.

This was our first time visiting Baby aWearness, but most likely will not be our last!
As we prepare for our new baby we have decided to try cloth diapers and are overwhelmed with the amount of information, brands, and opinions that are out there! Walking in to the store we were greeted by one of the owners and she explained cloth diapering and even had samples and a doll to look at!
What I really loved was that they only had a few selections of brands for diapers and the owner explained that the reason was they only sold what they loved.
The only drawback is that the store is still working out the kinks, the brother in law was behind the counter and they were figuring out the iPad payment system and the two of them kept talking over each other to give us advice on how to treat our new cloth diapers.

I love the new owners Maria-​San and her family! They are extremely helpful and make the whole cloth diaper experience easier. They now have a wide variety of cloth diaper brands to choose from like Bum genius AIO & 4.0, fuzzibunz, thirstiest duo wrap, bummis wrap, Grovia, Flip diapers, Osocozy prefolds, flats, and several more on the way! (Praying for Apple Cheeks pls!)This place is also your one stop shop for everything you need to get started from pail liners, diaper sprayers, cloth wipes, wet bags, Boba wraps & carriers, Charlie soap & rockin green detergent, creams, and so much more! They also carry other baby items like sippy cups, food trays, toys and so much more. Also this shop supports local vendors like Mamanu who makes these adorable hats and bonnets! Another thing that I extremely love about this place is their clothing exchange program!!! OMGosh not only do they have a great selection of baby clothes to choose from (I found brands like Ralph Lauren, Jack & Jane, pottery barn etc) but great maternity clothes, toys, and mommy gear at a reasonable price. I just love the services provided, products they sell, and knowledgeable customer service! There’s more in store for this little shop so check them out ;)

The only down side for today’s visit a year after my previous visit was I wish there was more variety for the children’s shoe selection as well as larger sizes like 4−5t.
Other than that, still nice customer service, wonderfully merchandised shop & great selection for the newer items for gifts.
I had the opportunity to find sneakers to use my credit towards from last year when I came in to sell/​trade some pieces ;)
I had my son with me as well as my friend visiting from CA so I had to make it quick, but if I’m ever in the area again. I truly hope to have more time to shop around.

I went on a whim to learn about cloth diapers at Baby Awearness and ended up buying a cloth diaper package. The package was a good price (same/​better than online) and included tons of stuff I wouldn’t have thought about if I was trying to start cloth diapering on my own.
The diaper selection was pretty good, they don’t have every brand, but they have the major types of cloth diapers so you can learn what style you want. I think they provide a great service to the community by educating parents about cloth diapering and baby wearing, so I definitely recommend buying from them if their classes helped you!
I also purchased cloth nursing pads (I didn’t even realize these existed before visiting their store) and a wonderful CD from a local teacher called «Miss Panda Chinese» and my 1 year old and I listen to it in the car. I love that I am exposing her to a foreign language when she is young, to develop her language skills and hopefully encourage her to pursue a second language later on. the CD is fun and I feel like I’ve learned a lot already!

So my SO said theres this cute little baby store across of where he was scheduled to work for the week, and us being in complete heat of baby fever (we are expecting), he decided to check it out.
What do you know? «Everyone loves us on Unilocal» badge in the front of the store, and with the great reviews, I was hoping to be amused. –DISAPPOINTED– For what its worth, I guess I was expecting too much out of this humble, quaint little store. It was dimly lighted and with boutique style shelves on the left and consignment racks and racks of baby clothes on the right. Right away, I browsed through the consignment clothes, pretty decently priced for lightly worn/​used, but as I browsed through the consign diaper bags, TOKIDOKI! Pricetag? $ 200! Really!!! Wow, I might as well invest in Tokidoki’s latest line of baby bags, JuJuBe for $ 150!
Lots of cute little cloth diaper shelves, three to be exact. So if you are going to cloth diaper your baby, I bet this place will have everything you need. Also sold eco-​baby carriers, boutique, local-​made little t-​shirts and onesies. Nothing that seriously caught my eye where I «COULDN’T NOT HAVE IT.» In the back of the store is more clothes for expectant mothers and a little couch to relax on i guess? I did see the cute chalkboards in the back with free personalization, but not too sure on the price.
Overall, I guess I was expecting more out of a baby boutique store, and I’m sorry to all the Unilocal fans who are head-​over-​heels, but for me, I wouldn’t waste my time driving here again to browse… Kudos to being able to sell and accept consignment for baby gear and clothes, but sheesh can you make the prices more reasonable! I mean If I wanted a brand name item that was slightly used, I would have rather invest in a brand new one for the same price… right?!

This store is like a diamond in the ruff… I have heard numerous times from my friend Yun and Angela about this store and finally I had to pop in. My daughter’s dentist, Emily Bordner, is a door down on the same level, so I said… Why not take a look.
Sure enough, I found all my organic tees, tanks, hand crafted tanks and hair clips, all of my fav brands I buy from Super Citizen Kahala mall is also here at Baby Awearness! They have the cutest toys, clothing, cloth diapers, etc. I didn’t have a chance to look at the consignment side to check out if there was anything good, but I was satisfied with my findings. The staff was so friendly, personable, and the woman that helped me had great aloha spirit! I could feel the warmth and sincere friendliness when she talked to me.
I will shop here and support this locally owned company every time I need to take my daughter to the dentist! Love this store! The best part about it too was that I was shopping in a peaceful atmosphere instead of the craziness this holiday season brings to the malls. A perfect store too if you are trying to avoid the madness of people.
This store was very clean, organized, and I had an easy time finding everything I love.
