Auto Trim Hawaii

We recently hired AutoTrim Hawaii to tint our windows. We knew they had a good reputation for quality for cars but we would soon find out they do superb work on homes too. We have a nice view of the ocean and wanted the protection and the heat reduction without losing much natural light or sacrificing our view. Steve Genardini came over and explained to us all our options. He was all pro and easy to talk with. He showed us many samples and we went with his recommendation and we were not disappointed. Just today my wife said while cleaning the house, «I’m so happy we got our windows tinted!» Our furniture have less wear and tear and even my saltwater aquarium has less algae. Feels good to wake up with the morning sun not glaring at us and squinting. Now we enjoy looking out and have peace of mind knowing of the safety protection as well. I took my new Subaru Forester to Auto Trim to get my windows tinted and they did an amazing job! I took my car down to their shop on a Thursday morning after calling to make an appointment. Sean Jones helped me out in choosing a tint that would work for me, and then we left them my car and waited for them to call when they finished. They had other jobs going on but my tint was done that same day and I picked my car up at around 2. The entire process was extremely easy and took around 4 hours at most. My car had no factory tint and they did all my windows including my front windshield. It’s been over a month since I had my windows done and there are no air bubbles, no problems with rolling my windows up or down, and everything looks perfect. I use my car every week and when I do it sits in the sun for more than half a day. After getting it tinted it’s much cooler! I also feel like it’s more secure since I know people can’t see inside anymore. Everyone at Auto Trim was very helpful and very kind. I’d defiantly recommend others to go there!

Brought them a new 2014 Camaro and needed two tone hash marks… they reproduced exactly what I wanted and installation was very fast.

I needed to have some custom decals remade as the ones that I have were destroyed through my own neglect. I will post pictures of my Dodge Charger. Not only did Sean (i hope I spelled his name correctly) replace them, they looked EXACTLY as my damaged decals, and they were the cheapest around. Thanks Auto Trim Hawaii!

So unprofessional I called to inquire about putting racing strips on my brand new car the first person who answered the phone in a unsettling demeanor said it’s by appointment only cool I respect that time is money, and I got that. The first person told me to browse the website before setting the appointment. Ok i get it, then when I called back I guess they have caller ID and the same person answered the phone in his exact words ANSWER WTF who answers a business phone like that. I ended the call then a few seconds latter someone called me back by the name of Sean and I told him it’s OK I’ll find another shop who is professional cause I like to pay top dollar for service. If I receive quality and professional service I pay whatever price the business is asking.

All the guys here did a great job with my truck wrap and our front door window wrap for our shop. From the initial contact, Sean was prompt and professional with his replies and then the other Sean did a great job with the design of my wrap! They were great about sticking to the time frame given and Sean and justin were efficient when installing my wrap! Super happy with the work! Definitely use them again for any vinyl banners or wraps in the future :) much thanks and aloha!

When I needed to make a new customized sign and was unsure of where to start and what specific design to use, I asked around for some referrals. My friends said I should consider talking to Auto Trim Hawaii since they’ve expertise in making custom signs and offer graphic design help. Upon calling the shop, I was pleasantly surprised it was Sean, the owner, on the other line helping me through this process. He was patient, friendly, knowledgeable and easy to talk to and this made the task at hand less daunting. Just the fact I had no clues in how to get started with the size or design, he assured me he’ll work with me to get the right message, proper illumination and style. I really appreciated how he educated me in getting a sign with the «right feel» and the importance of the message I want to convey with the sign.
Before talking to Sean, I was indecisive as to what I needed, after going through some ideas and material options on my own, I settled on a design Sean created for me. He did all the design work and I was absolutely thrilled because now I’ve a sign that POPS and has the right message. When I went to pick up the sign, it came out even better than I expected. Scored! The entire process turned out to be very easy because of Sean’s guidance and seeing the final product convinced me to work with them for any of my future needs. I’d also recommend ATH to anyone whenever they need a sign or help with the graphics.

Auto Trim Hawaii is an exceptional establishment, I have nothing but positive feed back for this place. Sean and his team are very professional, prompt and I love that they’re locally owned and operated ‘buy local”. He fixed some significant dents in my vehicle quoted me much lower than other places and finished the job faster then expected. Also wrapped a vehicle or two with Auto Trim and have no regrets. The service was fantastic from the design phase through execution they made my life so easy I would feel guilty if I didn’t write this review. This is a great business that does great work I would recommend Auto Trim to any and everyone.

Sean, the owner, was very prompt in returning my e-​mails inquiring about the paint protection film for my new Honda. Since my car was so new, they initially didn’t have the pattern from 3M. It took a little while emailing back and forth before he confirmed that they had the pattern. Made an appointment for both paint protection and tinting as he said there was a 10% discount for multiple services. Price quoted was $ 1200 ($ 1000 for paint protection, $ 300 for tint minus the discount)! Sticker shock… but I felt it was worth it to protect the car that I plan on driving for the next 10+ years.
The job took about 4 hours to complete. They’re not in the best location (Kalihi near Kapalama Basin and the shipping piers) so there’s not much else in the area and they have no waiting room whatsoever. Sean did say they could drop me off somewhere but that they couldn’t pick me up. No problem. I figured I’d just catch the bus and wander the streets of Honolulu for a few hours.
When finished, the job they did looked good. Of course, it’s only been 24-​hours since they completed the job so only time will tell. However, I was irritated to find water spots and streaks on the inside of my front windshield, rearview mirror and audio console. While I understand that they have use water to apply the film and tint, they got to realize that someone who’s willing to pay that kind of money on their car obviously cares about cleanliness and appearance; so why not take an extra 5 minutes to clean up after yourselves when you’re done with the job? This was a brand new car that hadn’t even been in my possession for a week! Later realized that my building’s parking sticker from the driver’s side quarter window was gone. Whether it was removed or came off during the tinting, either way, I wasn’t informed. I also found a piece of the plastic door molding from the left passenger door adjacent to the window had been removed and left on the back seat. Being that it’s the piece that’s right next to the window, I assumed they removed it (or it came off) but never bothered to put it back. Again, brand new car; pieces should be falling off a week into owning it.
All said and done, I walked out of there feeling like they didn’t really appreciate my business. Not a good feeling, especially after you’ve dropped a ton of money. I thought Sean was nice initially (emails and phone calls) but the more I spoke to him, the more he came off as kind of arrogant. Sean claims they’re a small operation, and that may be the case, but if you look at their website and Facebook page you can see that they’ve done some pretty big jobs for auto dealers, retailers and other businesses. Maybe my job just wasn’t big enough for him. After all it was a Honda not a Tesla, Lexus or Mercedes (as you see on their FB page). You’d think someone who owns a small business with humble beginnings would look out for «the little guy». Nope, not really. He said, «if you order the film from the mainland it would cost you $ 800 alone, without the labor.» Well first off, I’m pretty sure the material doesn’t cost him $ 800 and if I wanted to or even knew how to do the job myself, I wouldn’t have come to see him. It annoys me when sales people try to make you think you’re getting such good deal when you’re really not. He also mentioned something about T&T definitely charging more. At the end, when I asked if they had a military discount, in an almost annoyed way he said that I was already getting the multi-​service 10% discount. Hey, it doesn’t hurt to ask does it? I guess maybe it does.
Ultimately, I’m hoping I got a quality product (which I believe 3M is) that will last for years to come. The film does have a 5-​year warranty. But the high price and the lack of customer service will prevent me from recommending this place or returning in the future. Not sure who else does the paint protection film from 3M in Hawaii; T&T has their own film but I don’t know how it compares with 3M’s.

I love Auto Trim Hawaii! I’ve used them many times before and the owner Sean is always professional and helpful. What prompted this review is something I wished I had done years ago… tinting my living room windows. The sun hits directly from about 8a.m.-4 p.m. and heats up the whole house. We installed black out drapes to help but then we are forced to keep our drapes closed when we are home. We also wanted to have some privacy so our nearby neighbor can’t see into our home during the day.
Solution? Steve from ATH came and quickly installed this amazing limo-​like mirror tint to three windows. Even after the first window was done I could immediately feel the temperature in the room drop considerably. After all three windows were done, the difference was like night and day… or should I say day and night. Steve was very professional and I could tell he knew what he was doing. I would highly recommend them to all my friends. This was easily one of my top 10 best investments and my only regret was that I didn’t have them do it sooner.

The rear bumper on my car was recently scratched in a parking lot. I emailed Auto Trim Hawaii to see if they could touch it up. Sean promptly returned my email and we set up an appointment to look at the car. He was very helpful and we ended up doing a refresh on the front bumper, touching up the rear bumper, and installing leather seat covers that I had ordered from a mainland company over the holidays. The quality of all the work was outstanding. My car is painted in a Pearl White and I wasn’t sure they would match the paint but they matched and blended everything perfectly. The price was VERY reasonable and the car was ready on the promised date. Sean and his company are outstanding!

Got my Car wrapped by Auto Trim. Did an amazing job! Although I initially called Car Wraps Hawaii, I felt Auto Trim was a perfect fit. They installed a Carbon Fiber Wrap on the hood of my car and also mirrors. I would recommend them for your accessory needs :)

I have a 2011 black Audi A6 and wanted a clear bra due to an experience I had with a black Acura TL I had, I didn’t wand to fork out $ 1,300 for another front end paint job as I did with my Acura. I did several searches and read many reviews yet I had not been convinced who was the right installer for me.
I narrowed my search down to 2 installers. I meat with Sean for an initial consult and was very pleased with the professional, candid, intelligent attitude I received. Needless to say I never went to the second installer and scheduled an install appointment with AutoTrimHawaii. I got the 3M clear bra, and Solar Gard® Ultra Performance Series tint, 35%.
I was %100 satisfied with the quality, and quick install I received. A few weeks later I noticed a few scratches on my 3M clear bra I believe I got in a Wal-​Mart parking lot from a courteous patron. I called Sean for an estimate which he repaired in a few hours for a small parts fee, again, excellent, fast service. My third and hopefully final visit was recently where I received a dent and small, deep scratch in my brand new car. Once again I called Sean for an estimate, received my car in 24 hours which was much faster than I had anticipated but again was 100% satisfied with the cost for repair and work done.
Highly recommend AutoTrimHawaii if you want any advertised automotive services the company does. !

The owner Sean was super helpful. He was straight and to the point with answering my questions about tinting. His work was professional and the tint job that he did on my Honda Fit looks awesome! I’m definitely coming back again to get my front window tinted.

Sean and his crew just finiished wrapping my scion xb. It is sick. Unbelievable job. The finished product exceeded my expectations. Everywhere I go people are amazed at the car. I had a few scratches on my Honda SUV which irritated me for a few months and decided to Unilocal a repair company. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a great knowledgeable person like Sean Jones and his company Auto Trim on Unilocal.
His shop is conveniently located in town right off of Kalihi street (Makai end) right by Ethel’s. He quoted me $ 375 for my enitire car and it had two big scratches and one minor scratch (three corners of my car). Another company (Dent Dr’s) quoted me $ 700 for just one part of my car.
My car looks brand new and I can’t tell where the scratches were at all.

This place is great. The owner took my call. His questions showed that he was professional and experienced. I sent pictures via email of my minor damage. He gave me a conservative estimate that was WAY lower than the other places I called (none of which asked for pictures they were just ball parkinging on what I told them). I brought it in for a firm estimate. Upon arrival he looked at my car and used some solution to take the marks out and did not charge me. Great for us that we did not end up needing to pay for repairs but if we did I would have felt very comfortable. I hope not to need them for the same reason but if I do, I will go back. They also offer tinting and detailing along with some other services.

i thought long and hard before deciding whether to get a clear bra put on my new MINI. once i decided, i asked quite a few people about where i should get it done.
someone on a discussion board i consulted recommended i look into the ventureshield clear bra product and pick from the authorized companies at the website. since hawaii only had one such company, the choice was easy to make. bonus was that the place also is a tint shop and i wanted to get tint on my car. that place was auto trim hawaii in mapunapuna.
when i picked up my car, i kept having to look really closely at the hood because even standing a foot away, i couldn’t see the where the clear bra started. the application was top-​notch. i was equally happy with the tint (35% supreme). additionally, he charged me a very reasonable price according to people who are in the various branches of the auto biz.
i wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend auto trim hawaii to everyone. my friend who owns a three year old celica laments all the paint chips he’s gotten over the years. when he saw the work that auto trim did, he said he would definitely give them a call because he was so impressed. luckily, they also provide other services, like paint repair, paintless dent repair, and so on. even my salesperson at MINI, who strongly discouraged me from getting the clear bra done because he’s never seen a good application, was completely shocked at how well it came out. he didn’t spot it on my car until i told him, and he had to get quite close tand have me point out the line for him to see it. mind you, my car had been without a wash for a week, and we’ve had some light rains since i did wash it.
i love supporting local businesses whose owners and staff care to treat their customers well, so let me tell you about sean, autotrim’s owner. within half an hour of my initial internet inquiry, sean called me and i got the sense immediately that he loves what he does. i think that a person’s propensity to give credit where it’s due says a ton about his/​her personal ethics. sean, unlike many bosses who are quick to blame and steal the glory, is generous in praising his staff. i’d take my car to him again without hesitation, and tmy boyfriend (who is the resident car guru, being the son of a mechanic) feels the same.
