Had exactly what I needed, based on previous reviews. Kaffir lime leaves, Thai chilis, Thai basil, and several other hard to find fresh ingredients. Place is small but packed full of variety, and pleasant owners.

I found prices to be even lower than Chinatown. It is clean and you can avoid all the hassles of going to Chinatown(parking, homeless, smell, etc.).

One of the only places on the island you can get Indonesian food. Really a gem, the Mexican food place next door isn’t too bad either!

Why go to china town when you can stop at the Asian Grocery store. My go to place for all my asian ingredients!

Excellent store to visit for Asian grocery, they have all the ingredients needed to make tom yum soup. I even called ahead to make sure they had all the ingredients I had trouble finding at don quijote. The lady who I later found out was the cashier wad very knowledgeable When I got to the store I still was unfamiliar with the arrangement of all the items in the store so she took me to fond each item. what was even more suprising is that she even memorized the price of each item! I was very happy with the pricing and service and am glad they carried everything I needed. Being a townie my next desperate move would have been to drive to China town(island problems). My new favorite grocery store to shop at when preparing Asian cuisine.

This is my go — to thai food spot, although they do have other types of Asian foods here. It is more geared towards SE Asian ingredients tho, but as a Filipino cook, I can still buy my Filipino dish ingredients here, coz our foods are very similar. The prices are competitive, it’s easy to get to and you don’t have to walk into a big store(DQ) or battle crazy parking(Chinatown) to get your stuff. And their items are always good(no expired stuff on the shelf I mean). From curry paste, kaffir lime leaves, to bagoong, and patis it’s a safe bet to come here when you need to get your Asian cooking on. Pros: –Competitive prices with most items –Easy to shop at(in and out!) –Refriderated section for perishable items like limes, peanuts, basil leaves etc. –take credit/debit cards Cons: –No parking lot, but street parking is always easy here

I love this place! Mainly because it’s away from all the crowds and flies. Although it’s street parking, we never had trouble getting a parking spot. This place may be small but it has everything that I need. The ladies working here are nice and the prices are fair. They have the basics here and I love how they have a variety of fresh spices. You can pretty much find what you need here without the traffic and flies(possibly infected products) in chinatown.

Love this store! I don’t like going into Chinatown due to parking, crowds etc. I’ve been shopping here 5 plus years. Staff is always helpful when you don’t know what you need; I’ll take a recipe in for Thai or Vietnamese dish and they are always helpful. Items like rice noodles or kaffir lime, always fresh because stock moves well. Like their jelly drinks, milk tea drinks; bought a syrup and a can of «jelly» to experiment at home. I always ask«which brand» they use; I find sometimes it makes a difference. Also like the dry packaged«phở type» saimin. Like the snacks tried some garlic covered nuts!

Lots of variety. Especially surprised to see my Assam milk tea there! Price is a bit high but I wasn’t expecting it to be super cheap. overall, i wouldn’t mind stopping by when i am around the area to get random groceries and drinks!

This little store is chock full of the ingredients for Asian foods unavailable in most groceries. And it’s a great alternative to the Chinatown experience(tho I am all for that too). They’d got Filipino, Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese and other items. In addition to cans and jars they even have a small selection of fresh items, like garlic, scallions and lemon grass, a fraction of the cost of what you might find at a Foodland or Safeway. They also have packs of spices and herbs. Staff is super helpful too. Next time you need some Thai curry paste, red chili sauce, hot pepper vinegar, glass noodles or… you know where to go!

I can’t believe I have lived down the street from this little gem for months and have never gone! I was trekking all over Chinatown in search for things that I could get back home, but this store had just about everything and it was just a 5 minute walk! The ladies who run the store are Vietnamese and were super friendly. They stock everything that a Southeast Asian kitchen would need. I was in search of the silver package Tom Yum Mama noodles(if you’re Vietnamese, you know what I’m talking about). I lived off of these noodles in college and they are my absolute favorite ramen. So happy that I found them here! And G7 instant Vietnamese coffee too!

Perfect place to pick up Asian ingredients. Majority of the prices are just a bit less then in china town. You can find pretty much all the dry good that you are looking for plus a few fresh produces. Not too large of a variety of fresh herbs tho…

I miss living near this shop. Small store with a nice selection of different asian foods. I shop here for the tom yum saimin bowls. I can’t seem to find the same saimins anywhere else. Oh, if you are a fan of the thai iced tea like me, this shop sells em for cheap. I don’t quite remember but I believe it was a dollar fifty. Very cheap, compared to the 3.50 thai iced tea drinks offered at phở restaurants.

Yep! they have all three varieties of soy sauce: light, dark, sweet,(dragonfly brand) as well as other cooking sauces. canned jackfruit, both in syrup, and the young jackfruit in(brine?), pickled eggplants, spices for making your own curry paste from scratch, and more. like Amber C. says, the variety spans most South East Asian and Indian cuisine, and those toiletries, wow!!!

Quite a selection here! While I don’t frequent this shop, I do go about once every one or two months to stock up staples for my & my mom’s Thai kitchens. And not only Thai ingredients – they’ve got everything from Vietnamese candy to Indian ghee. Oh, and a tiny little toiletries section with Sunsilk & Lux from Thailand. Great variety at this store, nothing on the shelf is already expired, and the pricepoint is perfect for an Asian grocer. Sometimes they even have freshly-steamed khao tom(sorry I don’t know the English) and they’re actually really tasty! Mom likes that they have«satoh» beans in the freezer(google stinkbeans). I like the fresh, cheap pomelo

On a hunt to make Thai iced tea for my bestie best’s birthday. I got a hold of Brooke cause I knew she’d know where to go; and she did! I’m in walking distance from this place, and never knew it existed. Upon arrival, the lady informed me that their popular Thai tea mix was out and to try this other one for 3.90. So I did. I have managed to go down there 4 – 5 times in the past few weeks getting the same thing; thai tea mix. You’d think by now, I would have learn to buy more than just one bag! I have made gallons and gallons of this stuff because apparently people love it! It cost almost 3 bucks to get a cup of thai iced tea at some restaurants, and it cost me a little shy of 4 dollars to buy a huge bag of tea mix that makes a little more than 2 gallons. The ladies there are nice, and I even manage to get set up on how and what to buy to make yellow curry. Which I ate for days on end. Not complaining, I’m just saying. Thank you nice ladies at the store. Please stay open okay. So more people can enjoy your awesomeness.

Perfect hole in the wall for any Asian recipe. Prices are usually cheaper than you think. They have hard to find Thai Red Cargo rice. Nice selection of Asian spices, fresh mint, kaffir lime, Thai basil & coconut milk. Simply awesome!

This little hole in the wall is AWESOME. They have everything you can imagine and they don’t mark up the prices at all. The ladies working were friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. Unlike some asian grocery stores I’ve been to on the mainland, the items here are NOT expired. they are actually far from expiring. some of my favorite hard-to-find items: –thai iced tea mix. ever had those AMAZING iced teas at thai restaurants? now you can make them at home. this is the only place on the island(that I know of) that sells this. and trust me – I’ve looked. –fresh kaffir lime leaves. this is what gives a lot of curries(and even some cocktails!) that distinct, thai lime flavor. i’ve never found them anywhere else, but at Asian Grocery, they’re sold in convenient little bags by the checkout counter. does this get any easier? If you like to eat or cook affordable Asian food of any kind, I strongly recommend Asian Grocery. I’m already excited to go back!
