I’ve been going to Jan for 6 years! I get comments all of the time about the cut and color. I recently couldn’t get an appt because I tried too late so I tried a couple of other people at Salon Blanc and above Phở One but they weren ‘t as good and definitely not as affordable. Jan is just a sweetheart and just wants to help you get the look that is most flattering… in a very non-​pushy way. She is my hair person but also… she’s a good friend.

I have been going to Joanna Kim ever since I got introduced to her by my BFF. She’s is the BEST hairstylist. She will tell you the truth what works and what not works with your haircut. You can tell her what style you want and she will do it but she will make sure that it works with you. She’s an ARTIST! so she has good eyes for beauty.
She’s honest and OMG! You will never be bored while getting your hair done. She will converse with you about life. politics and art. A very smart person and knowledgable with her craft. She’s A GREAT hair artist!!!
Since I moved to SoCal… I can’t find another hair artist that could top her style of cutting hair. Not even a top hair stylist that I’ve been to at Vidal Sassoon can TOP her! She’s the BEST SO GO GO GO!!!

I have been going to Joanna Kim for probably almost 10 years. She uses her natural talents to give you the haircut and style that fits you best. The cuts also last a very long time — I typically do about 3 cuts a year — and it always grows out very nicely. I can do my hair natural, straight or curly and it always looks good. People complement my hair ALL the time and truthfully — I owe all it to the artist!
I highly recommend Artisans to anyone looking for hair salon, especailly if you need help deciding what kind of hair cut is for you. Joanna is an artist with an eye for what truly makes GOOD HAIR!

I love Joanna! I’ve been getting my hair done with her for years. I actually moved to the mainland and I was forced to try other stylists, but no one compares. (And I’ve tried EVERYWHERE in LA — Pasadena, Beverly Hills, etc). I wait until I come back to Hawaii to get my hair done… the first thing I do is book an appt with Joanna.
I always get compliments on my hair — so much so that girls who vacation in Hawaii ask me for her number so that they can get a cut and color while they are in town.
I’ve seen the work of the other stylists as well and their clients always look great. I can tell there are a LOT of loyal customers that frequent this salon.
The location is super convenient, the hours are flexible, reasonable prices, great quality, there is no waiting time, free parking, chill and creative atmosphere… no bad things to say!

I’m a red, white and blue man of the spinning barbers pole but I’ve come to realize that when you find your hair to be an endless struggle filled with frustrations and challenges. You will eventually seek a hair stylist who makes you feel comfortable with a razor down your neck even if it’s at a beauty salon.
You’ll know she’s an artist the moment you notice her personal works which décor the shop. I call her the Ethereal Vixen as she’s a foxy beauty whose conversation you can follow with every snip and quip even though she talks over your head. Most of all I can literally pass out on my chair as I know that when I wake my hair will come out just right. So if your mans, man don’t be troubled to check into the Artisan’s man!

I’ve been going to Joanna since my highschool days, about ⁷⁄₈ years or so. Not sure how to compliment her enough without tooting my own horn but I’ve gotten MANY a compliments since then! I carry her cards with me and have gotten a lot of people who’ve approached me asking who cuts my hair. Since then I’ve gotten all sorts of styles, from insanely short to my current kardashian-​inspired long tresses. Give her a pic and she’ll give you the cut (within reason of course). She does NOT, cannot, will NOT give you a cookiecutter haircut! She KNOWS hair and cuts according to YOUR hair growth and style. My hair is very large, curly at some places, stick straight underneath, and has very unique waves. Coming from someone who has always had a trouble controlling her hair, joanna works wonders helping to keep it tame. She cuts it so that my styling in the morning is kept to a minimal. She knows my hair so well that she knew how to compensate for my hair loss after pregnancy. She is extremely personable, creative, talented and amazing! I wouldn’t keep coming to her if she was anything less! Flexible hours, reasonably priced. Joanna’s the best!
