Soon to be 5-stars as it evolves and grows. Big fan of these events. All of the cool crafters and creatives are here. Food, music, inspiration, and vibe.

As always I love meeting artists/crafters/designers and creative people in general. I’m glad they have this space avaluiable to get locally made products every month.

They have some really nice and unique gifts and items. Wish it was a little cheaper to get in or they offered more vendors for the $ 3 entrance fee. Otherwise it would be something I would go to again. Wish i wasn’t on this damn diet so I could try Paul’s Poppers.

A friend suggested we check out Art and Flea, and after checking out their Instagram I decided, «Why not?» We paid admission $ 3 each, got a stamp, and walked in. It was 9pm on a Thursday night, and there was a decent amount of people. We came mostly for the craft vendors, as we just ate prior to coming. I was surprised that a lot of the vendors sold similar products: pocket-tees, bikinis, shell jewelry… lots of shell jewelry. If the purpose of the event is to provide the community with a «unique monthly experience» maybe the vendors shouldn’t be so similar? I love the concept of putting up and coming brands under one roof, however there needs to be more variety if I were to come by again.

This is really nice. I didn’t realize it was a flea market before I got here but it makes since now about the name. There is also a bar here. Too bad I quit drinking. Lol

I was finally able to make it out to one of their events. I did have a difficult time finding it because I kept driving around in a big circle. Paid $ 6 for admission for me and my husband which isn’t bad considering it’s double that for a movie ticket for one person. We had some poppers from Paul’s Poppers and mac & cheese from Earl’s. Since no one really buys raffle tickets, we bought 4 and lucky us actually won something! I hope to come again to more of these events but we’ll see how our schedules work out.

Art and Flea falls in the same realm of my mind as Eat the Street and The Night Market. But it’s not… completely. Every last Thursday of the month, drive down to Ward and park near the theater parking lot. In the back by the warehouses they’ve blocked off part of the parking lot for the food vendors. Entrance is $ 3 per person and they will check bags and do not allow water bottles in the event. There’s about six or seven food booths and a bar. Inside are numerous craft vendors ranging from clothes and jewelry to all types of art. Make sure you go upstairs to see all the vendors. They had a room where you could play tetris a pop up nail bar where they will paint your nails, artists doing live spray painting and a dance area for the break dancers. The crowd here is much different than Eat the Street and The Night Market. I felt ancient there. I would say the kids here are between high school and 20’s. It’s a very hipster event. Art and Flea might not be my demographic but it’s a cool monthly event.

This was my 2nd time at Art and Flea! I love the Crappy Kids and knew they would be there. I parked in the garage and walked over. It is right behind the Marukai market in warehouse 3. It is $ 3 to get in but well worth it! This time there were new food people to try out! I stopped at the crappy kids first and picked up new stickers. Then I got a sandwich from Earls sandwich, amazing! Of course, I got some poppers from Paul’s Poppers too. This is such a great local shopping experience. I like it better than the Night Market. The atmosphere is nicer and they always have dope music! I will definitely be going again!

I had seen all the photos and Instagram posts about art n flea and I have gone to a few Honolulu Night Markets so I kinda thought I knew what to expect going in. The line wasn’t that long to get in. Unlike HNM this event has an entrance fee. It’s only $ 3 so not bad. I had never been so I was willing to pay in order to scope out the scene. They had about 20 local pop up shops with various items. Mostly clothing and jewelry tables, not really my thing. There was a photo booth and about 7 different food vendors. I tried out the aloha pops red white and blue considering I usually love the firecracker popsicles from the store. They had different and interesting flavors. They also had a eating contest while I was there. There was a small crowd gathered around to watch. I typically am really into these types of events and I know they will get better with time. Maybe I went a little too early but it was not as packed as I anticipated. I think I’ll wait a couple months and try it out again to see how it’s developed. Every one seemed very friendly, it just wasn’t as big on the art side as I had expected. Maybe they should bring in a bigger selection of popular food trucks or combine some of the local drink makers with the bar to offer a unique variety of mixed drink.

Definitely a cool and hip thing to do once a month. It happens every last Thursday from 5−10pm and they’re now located in the parking lot /warehouse area next to the theaters and behind Marukai market. Check out local vendors and artists and there’s even a free photo booth here(my fav)!

October 30, 2014 I took my family to the Art and Flea event. I caught the bus with my daughter and foster child. We met Darcie who parked her car in the Ward Warehouse parking lot. We walked across the street to the back portion behind Marukai. Admission was $ 3 for the adults. The two kids were free. There were food booths but we saved our hunger for Goma Tei in the Ward Center. I jumped on the bike that helped power the KTUH sound stage. I got a free bag from Kaleo newspaper. It had some cool goodies inside. At the Unilocal booth, Raelyn played a trivia game. I won a Unilocal thermos. Many vendors were set up in a two-story warehouse. We picked up some cool young women’s clothes at a terrific discount. Andy Lee was making his art and kindly gave us a free sample. All in all a pretty good night for a family get-together or outing. Also, it seemed very pet friendly even though the theme was Tokyo. During some bedtime talk we agreed that this event was more art than flea, but the flea bargains were indeed great.

Went to Art & Flea tonight with my two dogs and boyfriend for PetFest! Yes, I am a total dork for wanting to show off my sweeties… but so were so many other owners! As we came in, they took cute photos by a huge doghouse. The photo was a great, free, «favor» for the night! I welcomed the opportunity to show off my pets and go have fun for a great cause. The entrance fee($ 3) and percentages of proceeds from most vendors went to help the Hawaiian Humane Society. The HHS is having a hard time lately with too many dogs and cats and they are in sore need of people to foster dogs, to adopt all pets and to donate money and food. Nikki from Hawaii Doggie Bakery was there and my pups were pumped I bought them some fresh, healthy treats with local ingredients! We humans grabbed a bite to eat from the Lala Thai truck that was there. Their«Mini» plates are huge! They also had some good vegetarian options. Other food vendors we also there: Beyond Burgers, a pizza place I didn’t recognize and Ginger & Spice: a local BBQ spot. Aloha pops and pop pop donuts were also there serving sweet treats. There were lots of local vendors there with jewelry, clothes, bags, etc. We didn’t come to shop too much though; just to walk around and enjoy! SOMANYDOGS were there!(If my pups were writing this review, they would say, «SOMANYBUTTSTOSNIFF!») From Great danes to Collies, from German Shepherds to Whippets there were lots of friendly dogs and owners who came out. My friend’s band, the Maneki Nekos, was also there performing– great show, guys! I’ll totally be back… especially to the next PetFest! Buy local!

Art + Flea is one of my most favorite monthly events in Hawaii. It’s a monthly event where handmade designers and vintage collectors come together and showcase their goods for people to buy or gawk at. They also do monthly themes and fully commit to it with the amazing décor and art and flea goers can also get $ 1 off admission by dressing in theme. Aly and her team do nothing but amazing things every month with their fun themes. There are also a variety of food vendors such as Beyond Burgers, WoodFire Pizza, Pop Pop Donuts, Aloha pops, and more! Vendors carry alot of unique and fun merchandise. Support local creative ideas and businesses :) There is ample parking in the area since they’ve moved to their new location in Ward Villages. So come on down and join the fun!!!

Honestly, I love and live for the local art scene! In fact, I met my soulmate at powwow and now bring our son and blended family of daughters to all these events. It’s a great concept for the young generation to grasp as a way to encourage the creativity within our youth. As a secondary teacher, it’s important for society to have some sort of outlet from the monotonous repetition of our society. Art and flea, you inspire my children and I to just be unique, aid our local economy, and simply let our minds be free.
