Description

Specialties

Art Explorium is a non-profit organization that promotes art exploration. Our mission is to provide a community art center that nurtures the creative potential in children.

1) Open Studio: During Open Studio we provide stations with a variety of art activities (we change two of them each Wednesday). We also try to reuse items as art materials as much as possible (bottle caps, fabric scraps, corks, old buttons, etc.). Drop in during our Open Studio hours (no registration required, hours listed above).

2) Art Workshops are offered at different times throughout the week. Pre-registration is required and workshop information is available on our web site. Workshops cover a wide range of topics including painting, sewing, fiber arts, and even movement workshops for our youngest friends ages 2 – 5. Workshop times vary so please check our web site for more information.

3) Special Events: We offer Birthday Parties and in-studio school Field Trips.

More information on all of our programs is available on our web site. Mahalo!

History

Established in 2012.

Art Explorium was established in 2012 through the vision of founding board members Taiji & Naoko Terasaki and Nate Smith. As parents, these three art-lovers recognized that children benefit greatly from creative outlets and access to the arts. With art programs being reduced in many schools and communities, our founders decided to create a non-profit organization that allows children to immerse themselves in the creation of art. A generous grant from The Terasaki Family Foundation allowed Art Explorium to become a reality.
