Armand Kainoa Chong, DDS

I met Dr. Chong several years ago when my daughter injured her jaw in a basketball game. He was highly recommended by her coaches at Iolani, his alma mater. Dr. Chong took excellent care of her.
About a year later, I needed a root canal and another procedure done to which he referred me out to a specialist BUT always reassured me «NO WORRY… I GOING TAKE CARE YOU». He personally called the oral surgeon so that I was seen immediately. Dr. Chong goes above and beyond…
I’ve been to «other dentist» in the past BUT only in dire emergencies because of my anxiety and extreme fear of dentist AND I did not know Dr. Chong. He is consistent, professional, personable and performs with pride, passion, and distinction. Dr. Chong cares and honestly wants to help making sure he targets and addresses the problem staying within your budget.
His staff is so sweet and accommodating ready & eager to help you (Jen, her sister, Loreen). The office is clean, warm and inviting. Plenty of parking and they validate. My family travels from Waianae and Kailua to see Dr. Chong. He is truly a blessing.

Just like many parents, kids come first and then your problems are dealt with once we’re in serious pain.
So here I am, dealing with a major tooth ache, along with sensitivity to hot and cold foods and was having to deal with this discomfort everyday.
I had told my current dentist about my problems and he narrowed it down to an old filling that needed to be recapped.
But thanks to Jenn, she told me to come in and have Dr Chong check it out.
I’m so glad I did, because guess what?!? It wasn’t just an old filing that needed to be recapped, I had to have a whole root canal done as my nerves were shot!
Thank you Dr Chong for taking the time to really figure out «the root of the problem!»
I’m pain free and would highly recommend anyone to go and see Dr Chong, Jenn, Nicole and Loreen!

Hands down the most patient, caring, and gentle dentist I’ve ever met. I’ve changed dentists about 3 times because of being rough and unprofessional. Dr. Chong is way opposite. His staff is friendly and his office is really nice and clean. Going to the dentist used to be nerve racking and stressful for me… but now I love going to the dentist. I wish I went to him 10 years ago… with that being said. Highly Highly recommended! Thumbs up!

Dr. Chong is hands down the best dentist in Hawaii. I have been all over the country now for the past 8 years and I can honestly say I haven’t found someone better. I have been a patient of Dr. Chong’s now for many years and that will not be changing anytime soon.
He recently, and by recently I mean a couple years, moved offices. The office didn’t move far but the upgrade is noticeable. His office is located at 3660 Waialae Ave. The building has a parking garage below the building along with a parking lot next door. The parking garage is free after you receive a validation from one of his staff members and it also wasn’t crowded at all! The floors/​lobby of the building are immaculate and gorgeous.
The office itself is good size and very inviting. The moment you walk through the door you are greeted by Dr. Chongs Office Manager/​Receptionist. After a short wait I moved from the waiting room to the dentists chair. The dental assistant explained everything to me before beginning any work. After a few X-​Rays to check my teeth, Dr. Chong came over and spoke with me about the results and than cleaned my teeth himself! Which dentist has ever personally cleaned your teeth?! We always have a great conversation as he works! He asks me about how my job is going, how my parents are, the surf etc. This is great because it keeps you calm as he works on your teeth. He is also very considerate. He will stop every few seconds to make sure I am comfortable and doing well. It’s by far the most painless and easy checkup I have ever had.
If you ever have reservations about seeing a dentists than make sure to come see Dr. Chong first. He is the nicest, most personable and caring dentist you will ever visit. I highly recommend him to anyone who is a resident or visiting!

Dr. Chong and his staff are wonderful. They are consistently pleasant and thorough. My husband, my two children, and I like our dental visits. In addition to good dentistry, they take time to explain options, talk story, and check in. We’ve been patients for many years, and have healthy mouths. They have a nice office location with modern and clean rooms and free parking.

I’ve been to many dentists worldwide over my lifetime and never found one as great as Dr. Chong. Found him belatedly from Pamela Young’s endorsement and he’s all as she recommended. He takes whatever time is necessary to explain options, doesn’t try to sell you something or talk you into what will give him more business as others I’ve experienced. just does an excellent job at whatever will give you the best results. Just sorry I have to move off island and will miss him. Anyone in the Kahala, Kaimuki, Makiki or Honolulu area should check him out. He also does some Saturdays.
