Alaka’i Inflatables & Party Rentals

I wish I could give them 0 stars, DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! They will ruin your entire party. Booked them for my daughters 2^nd birthday. 2 guys came to set up the bounce house & tent/​tables/​chairs. THEY WERE BOTH NEW & DIDNT KNOW HOW TO SET IT UP. So all my guest arrived just standing there waiting for them to set everything up, took them probably a little over 2 hours and it was finally up with the help of my family.

I booked with them a few months advance to my sons first birthday. They came to my party on time but right when they left, the bouncy house was unsafe and was leaned over to one side, the weather was great that day, no wind. I tried calling owner numerous times for about 2 hours to fix the bouncy house or get me my refund. Once the owner answered, i asked what he can do, and he told his workers to tell me that they cant give me a refund or get me a new bouncy house. My father in law ended up talking to the workers and owner and somehow came to an agreement that they’ll give me my refund.

We ordered the Ice Cream machine for our daughter’s graduation party…1^st off 2 of the employees came to set it up & told be that they had to come back after they set it up to make sure it was working because they were having problems with this machine. That was a RED FLAG for me already. They never came back, they just told me to call them in 20 minutes to see if it was starting to get firm. At that point is was «STARTING» to get firm. Then once 1 of my guests tried to make ice cream, everyone else had to wait at least 20 minutes to see if it would start to get firm… BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! Out of 200 guests only about a DOZEN got to have what «close» to ice cream! When i spoke with the owner, He did not offer any compensation… HE STILL CHARGED ME THE FULL PRICE FOR THE RENTAL WHEN IT DIDN’T EVEN WORK!!!

Scheduled rental time for 9 am — 5 pm, they arrived at 9:15. They still had to setup so that took awhile. I ordered the bouncer and waterslide combo thinking it was going to be joined but it was seperated. The waterslide was so difficult to climb up, and I mean everyone had trouble climbing including my cousin who is in the army had a hard time. The steps were so slippery and so worn out. It was for my daughter’s 3^rd bday party so the little ones couldn’t enjoy it as much because the older kids had to push them up (the older kids got tired lol). We still made the best of it, but I wish I had known that the waterslide would be difficult for the kids to climb. They were nice enough to give us 3 hours extra and also waived the travel fee since I got 8 hours. Just make sure to ask about the stairs of the waterslide and if it’s easy for younger kids (and older lol) The bouncer was in good condition!!!

I’m guessing some people got luckier than I did when going with this company. In the beginning Patrick was nice and very accommodating when helping me add things to my order. BUT when it came time for my baby’s party, he didn’t answer the phone nor return any of my calls. I called to cancel the bounce house I rented because of the heavy rains, but never received a call back (AND HE ALREADY CHARGED MY CARD ALMOST $ 300). When it came to the day of my baby’s first birthday, the workers STILL came and didn’t know I had left a message to cancel. AND they didn’t show until 1045am when they were supposed to be there at 9am! Now, I’ve been trying to contact the company (and this MF’er, Patrick)…but of course, no answer and no returned calls.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Take your money elsewhere… this company is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNRELIABLE!

Patrick is unprofessional and not a man of his word. I ordered a bouncy house and all of its accessories last year for my son’s first birthday. The day of the party Oahu was to be hit with a hurricane and was experiencing heavy rain and high winds. I tried to get a hold of Patrick via phone and email to talk about cancelling the bouncy house. No answer. I called him the day before the event and also the day of the event. No reply. I was aware that the deposit would be forfeited in the event of a cancellation but I wanted to make sure I would get a refund of my full order since I had prepaid for everything in full. FYI payment is due upon delivery of your rental, not before drop off. I opted to prepay so that I would not have to deal with any money exchange at the party.
Finally, at 1:30pm on the day of the party the bouncy house delivery guy calls me to check if I still wanted the bouncy house due to the extreme weather. I was happy that someone was considerate enough to give me a call back. He advised that he did not get to my location of drop off since our delivery time was scheduled to be at 4pm. He also said that almost everyone that day was cancelling their bouncy houses due to the weather and he was just calling me to check. I told him that I have been trying to get a hold of Patrick the past couple of days since the hurricane watch was advised for that day. He said that Patrick was busy on location and he would try to get a hold of him since I couldn’t. Within 5 minutes the delivery man calls me back saying that he talked to Patrick and that Patrick agreed that he had gotten my emails and phone calls but wasn’t able to reply. He would issue me a full refund because I prepaid along with my deposit.
A week after the party I call Patrick about my refund and he claims he never ok’d a refund and that my deposit is the fee for cancellation. THAT I am ok with because it is stated in the policy. HOWEVER, I paid for everything in full and am asking him for the refund of my remaining balance (everything minus the deposit) due to no services rendered. All emails and receipts were forwarded to him and he tells me he must investigate with written statements from the delivery drivers that day. There is no need for an investigation because he fails to acknowledge that I paid in full. Payment is usually finalized at delivery and cash is given to the delivery men. I am still owed my refund and Patrick continues to dodge me.
Its been almost a year since that day and Patrick is still dodging me. Last month I called again and he answered and he said he will look into the matter as he remembers the incident. I re-​forwarded him all documents and still no answer. The only way he answers my phone calls now are if I call from another number and change my name because he screens all calls before answering. He still says hes looking into it and has no answers for me.
****PLEASE BE ADVISED if you must use his services TO NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER PAY IN FULL AHEAD OF TIME. PAY UPON DELIVERY SO THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO YOU. IT WOULD BE BEST TO JUST FIND ANOTHER VENDOR. OWNER IS NOT PROFESSIONAL AND WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY. PLEASE LOOK UP COMPANY UNDER BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AS COMPLAINTS AGAINST HIM HAVE BEEN FILED. EVERYONE WITH 1 STAR RATINGS SHOULD DO THE SAME AND FILE A COMPLAINT. THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE BUSINESS TO WORK WITH.

First of all I’d like to say that this Patrick person is full of SHIT. So last year I made reservation for my daughters 1^st birthday party August 11 2014. I ordered a big tent /​tables /​chairs /​water slide the price tag came out to 800 $, we paid $ 160 deposit an figured that everything was gonna be OK. So on the day of our event a hurricane was on its way. We did what any normal human being would do CANCEL. Cancel DJ, cancel all the food arrangements, tell friends and family that were canceling because of the hurricane.
So time to call up Patrick to cancel, Patrick very swift to pick up the phone, I then explain to him why we need to cancel an ask for the deposit back, he said that he does not do any refunds of any kine. I’m like WTF. Now I’m irritated an explaining to Patrick you mean to tell me that you would set up in a fuckin hurricane, jeopardize the safety of your workers, an damaging your equipment to where I’m held accountable for stupidity. FUCK THAT. Patrick then replies that the deposit is still good for the year.
So 11 months later I call to arrange something, left numerous messages of when to call me, had my girl calling & calling, all attempts failed. Went on his web site, placed another order, my girl got a call back with him saying that we have to pay an extra $ 80 deposit, Like fuckin seriously YOU JUS SAID MY DEPOSIT WAS GOOD FOR A YEAR!!! WHY SHOULD WE PAY YOU MORE. Hearing all of this from my girl is pissing me off. So made my girl call him, he answers I’m explaining to this dip shit that he said the deposit was good for a year, he says that he still needs a deposit to reserve the equipment, I’m like FUCK THAT. Braddah what happen to your deposits good for a year… Fact is I paid $ 160 for nothing, never did shit at all. Hookers do more work then this clown named Patrick. All in all we aren’t rich we struggle to make our money, we work to pay our bills an try an give our children the best of what we are able to give an when you have to explain to your daughters that we can’t have a water slide because the guy wants more money or won’t man up to what he said ITS FUCKIN HEART BREAKING.
For future reference Patrick take care of your customers which means take care of the bad, good an the ugly. You shouldn’t label your customers as a price tag. Customers are the bread an butter of your company without us you a it got SHIT.
***People find another company that takes care of their customers professionally, not like a coward hiding behind a phone, a company that respects all customers. I will make sure to never use this jerk off again. The name of this company should be called Hauli style inflatable crap.

The worse rental company ever. Despite on us being 10 minutes late at the park, they took forever to set up the tent. On top of that, a lot of the information was not clear. I did not know it was an additional $ 50 for them to set up the tables and chairs. Me being 8 months pregnant, I had to set up some tables and chairs, not to mention their pilau service, but the tables and chairs were dirty as well! Talk about unsympathetic fools. The audacity of one of the guys to come up to me to show me the fine print on their website! Then, they expected the remaining balance in cash right after they set the tent up when I did choose the option to pay the remaining balance on the credit card information I’ve provided on their website as a deposit. Talk about disorganized a business. So, after the party got done, of course we had to break down the tables and chairs, but we never even got a «Thank You» from one of the guys or a receipt. They shouldn’t use the Hawaiian word Alaka’i on their business name since they’re not all about «caring for others.» I should’ve stuck with Ohana Bounce in the first place. Ohana bounce Unilocal reviews are all positive. Don’t settle for less people! Lesson learned with these guys.

Alaka’i Party Rentals provided two margarita machines and other various items for a golf event we were putting on at work. The team came out early, they were friendly, nice, and stayed until everything was up and running. There were some issues with the margaritas freezing (because we didn’t follow directions) and they were available on call all day to troubleshoot. They were on time to break everything down and even offered to help lift and move items that weren’t part of the rentals. I will be using them again!

A week before my wedding, the owner, Patrick, confirmed an arrival time between 3−4P. The day of, my wedding coordinator tried calling the company at 5P, didn’t receive a call back until 5:30P. The workers didn’t arrive until 7P and forgot to bring spoons (which I paid extra for). Because the workers were so late, the soft serve never fully formed. At over $ 300, that meant I paid over a $ 100 an hour for cold vanilla soup. Of course now that the check is cashed I can’t get a hold of Patrick. Very unprofessional and disappointing.

I reserved a regular sized bouncy house for my son’s 3^rd Birthday party at the beach. I was running an hour late was supposed to get the bouncy house between 9 – 10 am. Patrick called and told me they were already there. They arrived extra early which was good. And was patient enough to wait awhile, about 10 minutes for me to get there. Good service and extremely friendly. If you need a good inflatable party rental, I would highly recommend Alaka’i Inflatables. Online reservation was fast and quick confirmation provided. Cash up front if not paid in full. Secure deposit required. Which is better safe than sorry because there are other inflatable rentals out there that take your paid in full up front and don’t show up.

The inflatable rental was fine. A little dirty. The local delivery guy was asking for cash up front which seemed weird that I put my credit card down as deposit. He said he wants to make sure he gets his share. He made us feel a little uncomfortable.

I’ve have rented from Alaka’i Inflatables a couple of times for events at my residence, very professional service over the phone while making the reservation and offer affordable pricing. Their equipment is very clean. I will definitely rent from them again.

Patrick and his crew were completely amazing. From our first interaction with Patrick, he was responsive, professional, and, above all, he delivered. He provided an amazing party atmosphere for my son’s first birthday. It was a day we’ll never forget, thanks in large part to Patrick and his hard working crew (not to mention the bouncy house, toddler bouncy house, tent/​tables/​chairs/​table skirts, cotton candy machine, margarita machine, etc)!! We couldn’t have done it without him!

Great! Reliable and dependable. Patrick always comes through for the good of the community. Employees were nice and helpful as well. Thank you Alaka’i for bringing fun to our event!

Provided awesome service for the Hawaii Air National Guard Ops Group Party. Clean equipment and great prices. Definitely recommend!!!

After making my reservation, I left 3 messages for a call back to get some additional information and confirm what was going to happen on the day of the event. I DID NOT GET A CALL BACK EVER. Even on the day of the event, I asked the delivery boys that I NEED to talk to their boss. Needless to say I received NO CALL BACK.
The tables and chairs were very dirty. We had to shoot the tables and chairs down with water prior to our event. Totally unacceptable!!!
VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Alakai Inflatables was great! We rented the USA Spaceship for Veterans Day and it was a hit. Patrick and his team were very helpful and attentive to our needs as far as setup, quick and easy payment and even having a generator available. Price can’t be beat. We plan to use this team for all events moving forward! Unfortunate for others their experience was not as good as mine. So far so good on my end.

GREAT Customer Service and products!
The Owner and his staff are super courteous and friendly, they really know what customer service is and they make sure you are well taken care of, both at time of purchase and during setup /​tear-​down.
The 4-​in-​1 combo inflatable was a hit at our party (girls 7^th B-​day party). All the kids loved it and played for hours on it. I can say it made the party.
My experience with the staff and with the equipment was extremely positive and I will definitely be a repeat customer!

We’ve used them 3 times and everything was clean and on time.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them anytime to anyone.
