Description

Specialties

At AGU Ramen Bistro, we pay homage to the art of Japanese noodles by preparing our broth with choice ingredients, patience and love. The namesake of our restaurant refers to premium grade pork from Okinawa, Agu. The heart of our menu, Tonkotsu Ramen is considered by many as «the king of ramen» where rich, slow cooked pork broth is the centerpiece. We use exceptional ingredients and implement best techniques in preparing our made from scratch soups.

History

Established in 2013.

We love ramen! 3 years ago, what started out as an idea on a cocktail napkin is now AGU Ramen Bistro at Saint Louis Alumni Association. Dreams do come true:)

Meet the Business Owner

Hisashi U.

Business Owner

Hisashi spent his early youth in Okinawa and moved to Hawaii at age 13 and enrolled in St. Louis School for Boys. After College he opened a Yakitori-ya and an Okinawan Izaka-ya restaurant in the Torrence and Gardena CA area. Then he opened another Izakaya in Las Vegas before deciding to return to Hawaii and join forces with the Gyotaku Restaurant Group and engage in Ramen Wars Honolulu!

Authentic Tonkotsu (pork) and Jidori (free range chicken) ramen are the order of the day at AGU, which takes its name from Okinawa’s most prized variety of swine!

We’ll be adding items to our menu as we strive to fulfill our destiny as Honolulu’s best Ramen Bistro.
