History

Established in 2012.

Opening in September 2012, the building’s architectural design is inspired from local landmarks like Iolani Palace, Kawaihao Church, and the Alexander and Baldwin Building. One of the major emphases is the Naupaka, an indigenous plant of the islands, which holds much Hawaiian culture and a story of love. The Naupaka is represented on the Grand Doors as you enter 53 by the Sea and the iron work making the railings.

The view of 53 by the Sea has been enjoyed for decades from the previous iconic restaurant John Dominis. It continues to be a place offering a elegant and memorable dining experience with Diamond Head and Waikiki as its backdrop.

T’s at 53 bar focuses on fresh, handcrafted cocktails. It features an Italian made Fazioli piano, said to be the «Ferrari of pianos». Music is featured seven days a week and continues late night every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sit back, unwind and enjoy the show!
