We came here as a day trip from Key Largo. It’s about a 2 hour drive. We stopped at the first information/​Ranger station & got a few tips. We were told to go up the road & make a left on the first road we came to. I believe it was Royal Palms. Went to the end of that road and took a walking trail. Not quite one mile, round trip. We saw a lot of different birds, fish and allot of alligators. It was really worth the walk. We then encountered deer flies. No insect repellent, and I mean no repellent works with these creatures. We were going to take a boat tour but not with these guys. They bite. We did go driving around & found that they have nice RV parking.
