Holyoke Merry Go Round

What a special place! This historic antique merry-​go-​round was moved from Mountain Park to its present home in Holyoke’s revitalized Heritage State Park. It is beautiful and so nostalgic! Rides are only $ 2 each and last for about three minutes. There are stationary horses, ones that go up and down, a couple of cushy carriages, and of course organ music!
We brought our two-​year-​old for his first ride last weekend after a busy and exhausting morning at the Holyoke Children’s Museum on the other end of the park, and it was the perfect way to end our outing. He loved it, and we enjoyed the trip down memory lane and I’m looking forward to this merry-​go-​round becoming a tradition for our family.
The merry-​go-​round hosts private parties, and there was a birthday party going on while we were there (long tables set up along the window wall inside the pavilion — looked like a fun place to host something!).
There is a free parking lot near the merry-​go-​round :-)

Consider the Holyoke Merry-​go-​Round for your wedding or party venue — I promise you won’t be sorry! My husband and I wanted a non-​traditional site for our July, 2010 wedding and couldn’t be happier that we had it here. The staff is incredibly organized and helpful and there are many extras (tables, nice chairs, set-​up and clean-​up, unlimited rides) included with the reasonable rental fee. It was a gorgeous spot for our ceremony and reception (the pictures alone are worth it) and more fun than we ever could have predicted (yes, you can turn off the organ music and bring your own DJ). If you want a fun, silly, lovely and unforgettable wedding or party, this is your place!
