A prettier version of a diner. This location falls a little flat as far as service and cleanliness though. The French press coffees are great here!

I love this place! Really fresh food and the menu encourages you to order more of a lavish item vs a standard American breakfast. I always end up getting one of their waffles but the skillets look delicious too. The fresh squeezed orange juice is worth the splurge, and if you order a pot of coffee they even offer a togo cup.

Disclaimer: I’ve only visited this restaurant while hungover. And boy oh boy do I fit in. Left and right, families, husbands and wives, children, babies tucked into strollers. And there I am in a hoodie, sunglasses, and sweat pants from high school. All the while thinking to myself why did I come? Oh right, my dad’s buying brunch, and I’m visiting home for the weekend. Fam time, right. The absolutely vibrant and bright atmosphere is about as suburban-breakfast-esque as it gets. White walls contribute more to the lit ambiance as the large windows make way for outdoor light to pour in. The breakfast menu hosts a wide selection. They have a few specialty pancakes with blueberries, granola, and other psuedo-healthy products. I tried a salted caramel mocha-chino, a nice vacation for my stomach as it usually runs on regular Keurig cups. I split a lobster benedict with my mom, and took a nice chunk of my dad’s bandito burrito. Both were very hearty, filling, and of good portion size. Keep in mind though if you do go with the lobster benedict, you’re in Holmdel, not Boston, not Maine, but still a nice bite and flavorful with the bacon and tomato. Will def be back.

I had the Hawaii wheat which is French toast. Well worth the money. All other stuff there seem to pricey as alway. Last time I ate here it was little better in prices. But this time is little higher then usual. Good service and good.

Turning Point has been my favorite place to eat for a while now. The food is always satisfying and delicious, and so are their beverages. You will most likely have to wait to be seated on the weekends. But it’s well worth it! The service seems to be good every time I go.

Have visited almost all of Turning Points in Jersey. Never had a bad meal or bad service. Everyone I know that has visited one of these establishments has said the same. Always a wait, but def worth waiting for! Super great staff and super fast food considering it’s cooked fresh. My favorite breakfast place for sure!!!

We usually count TP as a go to in multiple towns(mainly Holmdel and Westfield) but the last three or four times –in a row!– at this location, there were multiple flies everywhere! They are buzzing in your face, landing on food… It’s truly disgusting. Sadly, we won’t go back again because of what that signifies. Such a shame.

Turning Point is a nice place to have breakfast, lunch or brunch. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is friendly. However I always find you have to ask for things like silverware and more coffee. The last couple times I’ve been here no one has checked on us to make sure everything was ok. I feel if your waitress doesn’t bring out the food she should come by shortly after to make sure things are good. The food is fresh and you can choose a variety of healthy dishes but if you feel like being indulgent there are many of those too. Turning point in HOLMDEL is a solid and consistent place to eat. The coffee is continuously freshly brewed, delicious and aromatic. I equally enjoy the organic tea and they have honey which is a favorite of mine. They have a really great variety of tea and you get a teapot to brew your tea in. Each teapot is about 3 cups. They do offer a Gluten free menu, basically it’s just minus the bread as they don’t offer any GF bread. So Instead of bread they will give you a larger portion of a fruit side. Today on the healthy and GF side I had the Pesto infusion, egg whites, tomatoes and portobello mushroom. This is not my go to place but on occasion when we do eat here it is good.

Went there for brunch with my sister. The server we had was awesome. He was very attentive and took care of every need before we even thought of it. I would absolutely recommend this place again! I made sure I told the manager how awesome our server was.

The nice weather this weekend sent us out in search of a good breakfast to break up the terrible diner breakfast places by us. We called ahead, told it was a 40 minute wait on a Saturday at 12, and drove about 25 minutes to get here. When we arrived, it was still a 30 minute wait, but we probably only waited about 15, so that was nice. This place was PACKED. The waiting area in front is maybe 6 chairs, so not very accommodating. Interesting people watching here, lots of 30’s moms dressed like Han Solo. Kid friendly for sure, but not overrun. Not the truck driver and old people crowd you see at diners. The coffee selection was nice– got the Jamaican French press, which was delicious. ~$ 9 for 4 cups, so equal to 2 starbucks drinks. I went with a freebird special, which was cornbread, candied walnuts, cranberry, and potatoes. There was supposed to be a spicy sausage gravy on it, but that was not on mine. Honestly, I didn’t miss it at all, the dish was the perfect blend of sweet and savory. The only downer was the potatoes, which had zero spice added and were just boring. Wife went with some kind of fruit french toast, and they forgot the powdered sugar, but it has this cinnamon awesome sauce that was plenty sweet. The fruit was all very fresh and good. 2 dishes and 9 $ coffee ran us 30 $. Not bad. So overall, long wait, amazing food, not expensive. Would I drive 25 minutes for it every weekend, no. Once every few months, sure.

Every time I visit home, I always come here with friends. The food is delicious and very filling. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The portions are also pretty big! The french press coffee is also very good. The only downside is that this place is very popular and the wait times can be somewhat long. I would recommend to plan accordingly. I have waited up to 1 hour for seating.

First time here for brunch on V-Day and have to say was very happy! Waited an hour but was able to put our name on the list over the phone which was a plus. Food was delicious and even though they were packed there wasn’t a long wait for the food… Fruit bruschetta is recommended, along with the Wilbur skillet. Smoothies and coffee was really good… Blissful smoothie recommended. Overall, had a good time in a pleasant atmosphere. Will be coming back.

The best thing about this place is definitely the coffee and the atmosphere. The good is decent, but I just order food there because that’s what you do. The service is above average. Definitely check it out… it’s just one of those places everybody goes, and there’s just no reason not to.

Always packed and long wait! Just shows how good this place is. Service is good though once you sit down and quick turnaround on the tables always. All the food is really good, and the hot chocolate drinks are delish.

Quaint and satisfying brunch place that has slowly taken over Northern /Central NJ. I grew up coming to Turning Point and coming back over the years, I still love it. They have excellent service and they have great brunch and lunch options. One of the things I love doing whenever I’m back home is catching up with friends over brunch at Turning Point. Great tea and coffee selection, they even have cold press. There are hearty as well as healthy options for food. Great service and awesome food, I love all their different types of french toast as well as their skillets. Only open for breakfast and lunch. It gets packed, so come early!

I haven’t been there in over a year and we will not be going back ever. Over priced. Snot nose racist waitresses Coffee always causes an upset stomach. It’ll never bee like it used to be when it first opened in Holmdel, that original staff was great.

So I’m not usually a fan of going out for breakfast but this place was actually pretty good. It’s not the place you make a drive to go to, but it is a good place for breakfast if you around one. A great selection of pancakes and waffles and a lot of unique options at reasonable prices. They have an extensive coffee and tea menu which I found impressive for such a place. The ice coffee I found to be a bit watered down and not too impressive. The potato hash brown side was great and the waffle was good as well. The best part was actually the vanilla flavored granola they place on the pancakes which was delicious. The place was clean and staff was friendly. An overall better-than-a-diner approach for breakfast.

Where do I start with this awesome brunch spot? Every time we end up coming here the food is always delicious. I love getting the specials because they always grab my attention. Last week we went and I got a waffle wedge/bacon/sea salt/caramel that was out of this world. My wife got the lobster Benedict that was phenomenal. We also got the coffee special which was delicious. The staff/waiters/waitresses are usually young, but always happy, smiling, very nice and professional. The place is always busy, and sometimes have to turn away, so I started to call before we take a drove there. Food comes out quick, its delicious and always a great way to start off a day!

Unless you get there when doors open expect a substantial wait. Sometimes lots of open tables that aren’t being cleaned and used to seat waiting parties. Once seated service is spotty depending on the day. I will say last time we went we sat at the bar, it was wonderful! Quick service, very friendly waitstaff and we even got to sample some of the milkshakes they were making — creamsicle awesome.

Have been here a few times and my only complaint is the wait… Other than that I can’t complain — the tables turnover fairly quickly so it just depends on how big of a party you are… however in the past I’ve never waited more than 15 minutes.

I came in here with my guest and the place was packed. I definitely now know why it is now! The food was delicious, the portions great, and service was good. I ordered the fruit appetizer and eggs benedict. My fruit appetizer was massive. It was almost another meal. Lol I was definitely not expecting that size and kind of sat there looking at it for a minute. My eggs benefict was delicious and I’ll definitely order it again if I stop by. My guest ordered the turkey ruben and that was also massive. He enjoyed it. Overall the food was good and I would stop by again.

My sister and I met my grandparents here for breakfast and it was a wonderful experience. My grandma got the soup of the day(roasted red pepper & feta bisque), and she asked the waitress for the recipe. Within a minute, David, the manager came over to talk to my grandma about his homemade soup. He introduced himself to all of us, and we mentioned it was my sisters birthday. Without hesitation he told my sister her meal was on him today. Being in the restaurant industry myself, there is something to be said about great, genuine customer service. The food was excellent. I got an egg white omelette with onions, tomatoes, spinach & portabella mushrooms! I would recommend this place to anybody! It’s super clean, the staff is great & the food is delicious!

As a frequent customer since 2003 I have to say the quality of this establishment has gone down. Their inability to effectively clean off tables in a rapid manner leaves customers waiting longer than they need to. The staff really needs to learn how to clean! By wiping down tables and throwing everything to the floor there is nothing cleanly about that. You step in food, sit in crumbs, & fight mats and Mosquitos-yea it’s a good time. Now on to the food. With their limited menu you would think they can perfect their food, but it’s mediocre at best. The presentation is lacking, the food lacks flavor and temperature. There have been times when TP has been on their game but they went wrong by opening too many restaurants which causes them to slip at other locations. The servers are okay. there are a few that have it together but there are some that are totally clueless! With fighting flies, sticky floors and seats, and dying if thirst it is safe to say that I have given up hope for TP. They remodeled for nothing because that place is pure filth.

While stuck in the arm pit of New Jersey and sno Acropolis 2015, I was lucky enough to find the one restaurant that was open past noon. The turning point was my savior Huevos Rancheos and they did it minus the chorizo. Staff incredibly nice, ambience not bad. Helped off set this hole of a town

As a Black Friday tradition for the past several years me, my sister, and my cousins meet up Friday morning for breakfast before heading out to go shopping. So when the decision was presented as to where to go for breakfast, I made the suggestion of Turning Point, as I’ve been meaning to try Turning Point for a while. I’m a big fan of pancakes and looking at the several pancake choices I decided on the Lemon Blueberry Dream Power Grain pancakes. The pancakes were very good; still being pretty light and fluffy considering that most pancakes using whole grains(let alone 10 grains as advertised) tend to be a bit dense and earthy in texture. The blueberries were plentiful and gave a nice fresh element to the pancakes. I couldn’t make out much of the advertised lemon zest though. As a suggestion, ask for some butter on the side; these pancakes are served sans butter and it’s addition really amps up the flavor especially with the nice warm syrup served alongside. My cousins and sister all ordered different egg dishes: Grande Huevos Rancheros, Big Easy Benedict, and the Wilbur Skillet. Each were pretty large portions with enough to safely feed most sane people. Of note was the Grande Huevos Rancheros that was impressively presented in a big tortilla. The eggs were all served exactly as they ordered(scrambled and over-easy) and by their opinions everything was tasty. The house coffee was very good; nice and mild and graciously served to us in two separate carafes as all of us are big coffee drinkers. Service was very attentive and cordial too. A really nice spot for weekend breakfast or brunch. Warning…this place can get busy.

Turning Point, admittedly, was a turning point of my day. Truth be told, I am not a nice person when I am starving and tired after long endless drives. At some point, I have to stop and fix that. STOP. Turning point. OMG. French toast. No, really, they have OMG french toast. True story. Listen, not only it’s HUGE, it is also topped to the brim with mascarpone, bacon, pecans and caramel. Yes, I said bacon. And caramel. ~dies and goes to french toast heaven~ I was not big fan of seasonal mocha, it was too sweet for me, but fresh orange juice was just perfect. Service is quick, place is super bright and modern, and bathrooms are clean — all much appreciated since my road awaits me once again. Till my next Turning Point, till next time! Farewell.
