Vick Kargodorian, DDS

Wow, I am so grateful for Dr. Kargodorian! At my dentist, a wisdom tooth snapped off, mid-​procedure, and the roots were left. My dentist referred me to an oral surgeon but they couldn’t see me until the following week. Within 15 minutes, I had walked to his office and was in the chair having everything remedied. He was so knowledgable, expedient, and gentle. I would recommend him to anyone and am so thankful that he helped me!

2016 makes 18 years that I’ve been a client of Vick Kargodorian’s. & if you’ve read my first review on him & his staff you already know I am indeed a fan. The reason for the update is because over the last year & half I spent more $ on my teeth than probably the last 20 years combined. I’ve had at least 15 sessions if not more since my first & last review. 4 root canals, a cracked tooth, 6 crowns, 6 amalgam fillings finally removed, a couple cavities & then the cleaning. Oh I know — I did it allllllllll to myself by eating waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many sweets & yeah I paid for it obviously in more ways than one. But, as I sat in the chair those many times I noticed I’d usually come around to the thought of just how grateful I was to have such complete trust in my dentist. The 18 years kind of trust! I’ll just say that the guy is an absolute master at delivering Novocain injections — never even feel em — he hums (in key) calming melodies as he scrapes, chips & drills away. (ha!) True story! He has always been fair to me with pricing /​payments & the ENTIRE staff in my experiences is worth appreciation & mention as well. I can say with Authenticity & Integrity that for the last 18 years Vick Kargodorian & his staff have taken care of my dental needs completely & have always treated me in a way that makes me appreciate my decision to call Dr. Vick «My Dentist «!

Dr. Kargordian is a master at making the perfect smile! His staff is amazing and his receptionist, Joanna is super helpful and polite! Your smile is important and if you want it done the right way, with no pain, and by an excellent dentist who is a master in the art of designing the perfect smile, then look no further than Dr. Kargordian! My expectations were met above and beyond!

I really enjoyed my experience with with Vic and his staff. My procedure was quick and easy and my smile gets compliments daily.

I am so happy to have found my dentist at last, Dr. «Vick» Kargodorian. I have an inherited oral degenerative condition, meaning my teeth are super prone to cavities and worse, breaking, falling out. This has caused me grief for years, but I have been unable to find a dentist who could work with me to sort out a short/​long term process. While veneers are the goal, it’s not something I can do now. And Dr. Kargordian is the first dentist who thoroughly examined my teeth, asked and listened to my history, and discussed OPTIONS. I cried with relief. And now I cry happy tears because I have a partial denture for now that paves the way for the veneers I will eventually get.
After years of feeling embarrassed, humiliated, covering my mouth, smiling with my mouth closed, I have my smile back at last! While this would be upsetting for anyone, I also work in a highly-​visible career, and since January, have been able to work hard, smile big, no more hiding, maneuvering. When I was recently had to change insurance, my number one priority for dental was only a carrier where Dr. Kargordorian was in network. I will never see anyone else, and recommend him to any/​all for all needs, basic maintenance to the more complicated problems. You can trust him completely, he is also funny! And the staff is friendly and helpful.

Absolutely a pleasure to be taken care of by Dr. Kargodorian from the front desk to the parking lot. Excellent staff, top notch care by Dr. K. I have been to several dentists (including university setting) and have not found the thoughtful and comprehensive care that I have received with Dr. K and his staff.
I would highly recommend starting your dental care with Dr. K without any reservation.

I love this office! All of the ladies who work on staff are nice and really take time to address any concerns or answer any questions beforehand. Dr. Kargodarian has a super gentle hand and had a great understanding of my auto-​immune related sensitivity issues. This is the first time that I haven’t had any swelling, infection or complications status post the dreaded drill, and my mouth looks absolutely fantastic! I feel like having my full smile back can only be described as life changing, because our smiles really are our calling cards, our first impressions and windows into our overall health. Whether you simply need a cleaning or a tooth filled or need more extensive work like a root canal or bridge, I would recommend this office to anyone in the Los Angeles area! In short, if you are looking for a great dentist with a great staff and wish to get lasting, beautiful work by someone who doesn’t believe in shortcuts, do it right the first time and go to Dr. K! :-D

Fantastic dentist! I’ve been going to Dr. Vick for over 3 years and am very happy with him as my dentist. Dr. Vick and his staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and make having my teeth cleaned as enjoyable experience as possible.

Love the staff! Unfortunately, their work is mediocre at best. Based on othr reviews, i can only assume this might be because I use insurance and not paying out of my pocket. nevertheless, the last two teeth cleanings hav been below standards. after my teeth cleanings, both times, I went to another dentist for teeth whitening, and they showed me the «build up» & areas missed. He also completely missed a cavity, and cracked tooth & the possibility of me having to get a root canal in the 18 mo’s ive been going to him… My new, well trusted family friend, dentist showed my the areas causing consern using xrays and mirrors. Also, this friend is doing all the work for free so they really don’t benefit frm showng me all the mistakes made.

I have been going to Dr. Vick for 4 years. It is funny if you read through these comments people are either all for Dr. Vick or against his practice. Most of the complaints are about tardiness. HOwver, this is not what makes a good dentist. When it comes to his expertise I haven’t met a better Dr. He truly changed the way my teeth look.
After meeting Dr. Vick I would not go to anyone else. Also, he gave me a complimentary whitening tray and bleaching cream. It was amazing for him to do this for me. I have never met a dentist like him.

I’ve been going to Dr. Vick for about a year now. It’s been mostly basic stuff: cleaning and the occasional cavity. The work was top notch and I have no complaints.
Recently, I had a wisdom tooth extracted. This was a difficult procedure due to how the tooth had grown in, but Dr. Vick managed to remove it cleanly and much quicker than I expected.
Any trip to the dentist can easily turn into an unpleasant experience given the right circumstances, but I would have to say the Dr. Vick and staff do everything within reason to minimize this chance.
Overall, I would say that he is a very competent, friendly dentist. His staff is easy going and pleasant. I have recommended Dr. Vick to co-​workers, friends, and family based on the friendly environment and the quality of his work.

I’ve been having cleanings done here for a few years now. The staff is very friendly and generally on time.
Recently, I had some oral surgery done by Dr Vick to correct issues created by a prior surgery (from another dentist). I was very happy with the quality of the work performed in correcting these issues. Cosmetically, the work was beautiful as well.
Look — as with most places in LA, they’re going to upsell you a bit here on the cosmetic stuff (whitening, etc).
Overall, this is a quality office. I’d give it a full 5 stars but I had to fight a bit to get them to accept the service rates provided by my insurance.

Heres the deal. I am TERRIFIED of the Dentist. When I was a kid it was not an issue because my folks took me to a Great Dentist and that Dentist never introduced me to Dental Pain. Fast Forward 20 years and Im in some Discount Dental office on Vermont looking at Dental equipment that literally had TAPE holding it together and Im suppose to get my First Root Canal! I try not to think of this story because it was so Awful but I will say I felt EVERYTHING and it was a nightmare that scarred me and from then on, Gone were the days of my 6 month cleanings. I had been Lucky and other then missing cleanings, didnt have any Dental needs. Then, 4 months ago my Molar tooth literally Cracked in Half! At first it wasnt so bad. Food got stuck in it everytime I ate but I would just brush it out. My Best friend told me to go to the Dentist and I told him «NEVER!». But after 4 months it began to hurt… a lot. My Boss said «I have the perfect Dentist for you». I said «NO WAY!» but he told me to listen. He went on to tell me about growing up in Communist Czechoslovakia and how they use to go his Dental work without any Novocaine and told me he had a Dentist Phobia ever since. He explained that he found his way to Dr. Kargodorian and from then on, his fear was gone. Though Reluctant, I agreed to at least call. From the very first call I told the Receptionist that I was TERRIFIED of the Dentist and that I was only calling because my boss made me. She assured me that Dr. Kargodorian was superb and that I really should give him a chance. I made the appointment and went. I knew I would have to Man Up for a Crown as long as I didnt need any Root Canals! The Receptionist was Joanna and she said «Oh yes. I see you dont like the Dentist at ALL» which actually made me feel a tiny bit better. She smiled and said «You have nothing to worry about. I promise». Sweet but I was still TERRIFIED! Once in a Dental Chair I was greeted by a Beautiful Dental assistant named Julia. She was so calm and told me «You really dont have anything at all to be worried about. He is the very BEST». She took some X rays of this Gapping Hole in my tooth and it was cool because I got to see the X ray on a big TV right in front of me. Soon the Doctor came in and he was really friendly and right away told me that he knew I was afraid of the Dentist and that he promised tht I wouldnt feel any pain. He examined my tooth and found that I needed not 1 but 2 root canals and 2 crowns! He showed me in the X ray where the tooth right next to the broken one was decaying inside and it needed to be saved. I wont say how much it cost BUT I will say that he cut me an EXCELLENT deal since I was coming out of pocket. Then he gave me some Gas to breath and from there nothing really mattered anymore! He could have said «Now Im gonna pull out your Front teeth!» and I wouldnt have cared less! He talked to me through the entire procedure and I honestly felt NOTHING!!! As in NOTHING!!!
2 more appointments later and my teeth are like new and I never felt so much as a pinch! If youre like I was and are afraid of the Dentist, TRUST ME, this is the man to see! THANK YOU Dr. Kargodorian & staff! See you in 6 months!

I love Dr. Vick. I was going to a dentist who was not very good and little by little I was losing teeth as well as wearing some cumbersome bridges.
My family doctor recommended Dr. Vick and going to him was one of the best decisions I made. I had lost so many teeth, I was chewing like a rabbit. On my upper jaw I had to get a bone graft as I had lost some bone, then I had implants put in on my upper and lower jaw as well as most of my remaining teeth capped. expensive (of course) worth it (worth every penny). Not only that, Dr Vick is more than a dentist he is an artiste. My teeth are wonderful, they fit my mouth and the bite is superb. A friend of mine went to a cheaper dentist and the implants they put in were too big for her mouth and the bite was way off.
I have never had any trouble with my implants. I have also never had any problems with the staff at Dr. Vicks, they are very kind and thoughtful. I’m sort of a pain wimp and they go out of their way to make sure I am comfortable.
I would recommend Dr. Vick to anyone. He is a first rate dentist who made it possible for me to enjoy my food and to smile again.

I’m generally pretty conservative when I rate a business, I come from a customer service background and understand that things happen. I am as patient (pun intended) as can be. Now… lets begin.
I am a first time patient, I chose Dr. Kargodorian as my primare care dentist due to
1) how close he is to my office and 2) how close he is to my home
That said:
The technician who took my xrays, hit me in the face with the machine. Somehow the tube head came loose – the first time the tube head fell on my lap and she replaced it… the second time it became loose and it hit my eye. I let this go, again because THINGS HAPPEN.
Then Dr. Kargodorian came into the room and he was as thorough as can be. Clear, concise and generally pleasant to speak to. We decided to fix my tooth that was broken by filling it with white filling.
Once it came time to pay— the same technician who hit me in the face– was the one to take my payment. $ 200, which I planned on paying with my Health Card (Visa) somehow she couldn’t get the machine to work so I paid with my personal credit card and planned on just submitting a claim to Wageworks so they could reimburse me. I asked for a receipt (something a patient shouldn’t have to ask for, this should be immediate) The technician looked at me like I was crazy and confessed that she did not know how to «do that»
In my opinion, all of the dental staff should be trained on how to «do that» to avoid any confusion, especially if they are working after hours and the office manager isn’t there.
I was then told to call at 9 am and that the office manager would help me. (at this point I still think…“THINGS HAPPEN“so I move on)
I call at 9 am on 4÷3÷13 (today) and no answer… then again at 9:30 am (I leave voicemails asking for a call back)
Finally I call again at 10:15 am where I finally get an answer. Johanna-​states that she just got into the office – I told her the events of the previous eveing she was surprised by my concerns and told me she would email me the receipt by taking a picture of it with her phone because the scanner is broken… problem solved right? No, over the phone she felt the need to tell me that «it isn’t a big deal and that she would get it done» she then added that «Dr. Kargodorian has many long time patients he rarely gets new ones» this was the very last straw for me.
A patient is a customer… a customer should not have to jump through hoops to get a simple item like a receipt. A patient (customer)should not be told by staff that something is «not a big deal» there are many many MANY dentists in LA and the last time I checked… new patients are just as good as long standing patients. We «new patients» are looking for a dentist we can trust and keep going back to. Unfortunately despite Dr. Kargodorian being one of the best denstists I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, his staff and the disorganization and lack of training they posses is the only reason I will not be going back. So if you are a «new patient» I advise you go elsewhere.

BEWARE. This guy is a scam artist. He did procedures that were NOT covered by our insurance, after being very clear that only covered procedures were to be done. He printed out a treatment plan for my husband that we agreed upon, and then decided to do the old bait and switch with porcelain instead, without telling my husband, and they throw the bill at us. He said he doesn’t do «resin composite fillings», even though his print out said that’s what he intended to do. Then his receptionist charged us for 4 teeth, even though they only worked on 3. Every time I turned around, they were throwing in $ 250 here $ 250 there and just saying it was done. Needlesstosay, a letter from our lawyer is in the mail… as they overcharged us $ 430! The guy’s whole house must be Porcelain b/​c he’s obsessed with it…
I would not go here if you have other choices. Also you have to pay $ 6 for parking… and note that the dentist was between 45 min-​1 ½ hrs late seeing my husband on all 3 visits…

This is a message I got from the dentist… (yes, I’m not smart enough or experienced enough to differentiate between a nail salon and a doctor, as you can see in his diatribe…) and note, a majority of the five star reviews for the dentist came AFTER my bad review… what are the chances…

Dr. Kargodorian is not only a really really talented dentist but he also truly cares about his patients. More than any dentist I’ve ever met. and I’ve met a few. He’s super detailed, takes the time to listen to you and always makes sure that you’re doing well. I was removing a wisdom tooth with surgery and he wanted to make sure that I had a ride home after and if I couldn’t find one they would help me. They walked me down and the Dr. also called later that day to check that I was ok. The staff is super friendly, the office is in a perfect location with an awesome view! Couldn’t be more satisfied :)
