Riptide Ocean Front Hotel

Over the MLK weekend we enjoyed staying at this hotel for the 4^th time I appreciated the assistance and advice of the front desk staff. employees are well trained and courteous.
We enjoyed the free bikes, which is one of the main reasons we stayed again. My wife and I biked for miles along the bike paths. We also appreciate the free beach chairs and an inexpensive Tiki bar to watch sports. Could see the ocean from sitting in chair in front of room.
We appreciate your willingness to provide excellent service at a cost-​effective price. I would highly recommend you to my clients and business friends. We look forward to visiting again next year.

Fantastic Wedding/​Reception!
This place is great. It’s not fancy, its not super fast moving, and its not the cheapest deal in town. What it does have, is character… and a fantastic beach access. So you go there for the atmosphere, the friendly people, and the ocean.
We rented a block of rooms at the hotel and held our wedding reception there in April 2015. It was a blast! The management Staff (Jeremy and Henri), went above and beyond to make our, and our respective families, stay a fantastic one. The rooms were clean, the AC was nice and cold and the beds were new and covered in fresh linens. There was not a single room complaint from any of the 20 or so rooms we rented.
The little Tiki Bar is great! The servers are a bit slower than in a big city, the attitude is a bit more relaxed and yes, you are not dining at 5 star restaurant, relax! Its a Tiki bar :) Let island/​vacation time take you over, relax, have a beer at the bar, listen to the complimentary music, eat some of their solid food, and just have fun. I had a couple of meals there during the few days leading up to the wedding, the Guacamole was pretty good and the Cuban was pretty tasty but its not fancy fare, its just good simple comfort food.
Let’s be clear, we did not want a fancy wedding, we wanted a fun one and this place served up the fun!

We have been booking at the Riptide for over 7 years now (Birthdays, New Years, …) It is a place we always recommend to friends and family. Unfortunately, last time we stayed here we had some problems with Samantha (Sam) who works at front desk. This lady was very rude to our family, friends and neighbors during our stay. We were told by other employees that this is not the first time it happens. The other employees were very nice, including bar manager, but as long as this lady Sam is working there we will no longer book at the hotel. It is very unfortunate being that we have never had any issues here. We are planning our next family reunion for the end of June 2016. The idea was to book all the rooms at the Riptide but now we have to look for another place to stay.

Great bar with amazing happy hour and fantastic staff and live music.
Service staff was very disappointing. Never did get those towels!
Rooms are in need of serious renovations and the entire place is looking run down.

8.5!!! That was my average score to the unsuspecting passerby-​ers. Conveniently located on the boardwalk, rating tourist, locals, couples, etc. was a nightly activity enjoyed by our rowdy group, not to mention enjoying the nonstop live entertainment and socializing at the tiki!
I would surely recommend this place to friends and family! A very quaint establishment, located ON the boardwalk… great location for beach lounging, people watching, and just SIMPLE fun at a reasonable price! One building is located in the same courtyard with the tiki bar and nonstop live entertainment, yet these rooms are slightly smaller than the rooms in the adjoining building-​which were awesome and a little more family oriented. Both come equipped with a small kitchen, which is what you need with children and snacking adults! The staff could not have been more pleasant… thanks Jason and Angel… which I might add is an awesome bartender that knows her customers and how to handle them!!! Can’t wait until next year… we have already book the same room.
The three is for the lack of amenities some may require… such as a pool… who needs it when you have an entire ocean to swim in, a gym… who needs one when there’s the boardwalk right in front of you for biking, running, etc., and food… again who needs it when you can bring your own and you have access to the liquid diet with the tiki bar right outside your door!
I personally would say a 4 star would be a fair rating, but I try to take the public as a whole into consideration, therefore for the more «booshy» of costumers I gave it a 3!
Just remember, next year July, if you’re walking on the boardwalk, be sure your at your best if you want that 10 rating!!! And stop to say hi!
