Richard’s Motel

stayed here years ago. Definite hooker hotel. More low budget than green seas next door and very hard to downgrade from green seas. The only good review on here from Richards is clearly from the staff. At the end of the only good review, it says see you at richards. Clearly the staff writing it. Just come out and hang out in the area for an hour or two after dark and you can see for yourself before you pay for the room. Cops everywhere. Someone lit hotel on fire tonight. Nice lol.

My Husband & I stayed here a month & it was soo Peaceful & Relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay here & will be coming back very soon. There is so much to do & so many shopping centers & restaurant right here. They even allow pets… Thank you for a Wonderful Time

Wow, where do I begin… I’m not one to complain b/​c my moto in life has been to live & let live, I believe in Karma, what goes around comes around.
However this is my first review & sad to say I will not recommend this place to anyone, not even my worse enemy & I don’t even have one to my knowledge.
I would love to go into details but I can’t believe that I’m even writing what I am right now. I only gave them a star by the way b/​c it would appear that you can’t leave a post without leaving a star rating. I wish there was an option for negative one star at least. I agree with the fact that the internet signal sucked.
The air conditioning did not work in my room & I had to wait almost an hour for it to be switched out even though I told them about it earlier before going to work that day.
The house keeping women were trying just as hard as the women on the streets before you get there to pick me up.
And the professionalism of the management & the front desk staff is very poor. I’ve seen better business practices at the flea market on a TV show.
After it’s all said & done I’d suppose if you’re just looking for a place to sleep it will do but for all other intense purposes please don’t waste your time or money staying here.

After reading some of the reviews on Richard’s Motel, I feel compelled (very) to provide some observations and thoughts relating to my experiences regarding two, one-​week stays here, the first from Saturday, October 4^th through the 11^th, and the second from Saturday, November 8^th through the 15^th (when I «chose» to return).
First of all, the «Motel» location is an original, Mediterranean-​style, stucco and clay-​tile roof structure that is very reminiscent of the villas that rise along Hollywood Boulevard, throughout Palm Beach, and the Morningside addition of Miami (MiMo). When traveling, in order to get a «feel» for the locale, some people feel drawn to places that capture the essence of place they are visiting (such as Richard’s). In addition, (probably in part) due to their success all these years, Richard has expanded to include adjacent and nearby locations that offer a full spectrum of amenities. Prior to checking in, they offer, no prefer, to let you preview what’s available to make sure it will meet your expectations.
Second, when I’m not staying at Richard’s, I’m staying at various other hotels and resorts throughout Broward county, on a weekly basis. I’ve relocated permanent residence here, and doing this «to get a feel» for all the different towns and neighborhoods, and ultimately decide where it is I want to settle down. Upon check-​in at all of these places, I’m required to sign an agreement stating, that: a.) there is no smoking at any time in the unit, b.) no pets, and, c.) no «unregistered» guests. It also states emphatically, that the guest agrees to turn off all lights and air conditioning upon leaving (that one is just rooted in common sense). Some also go so far as to stipulate: «no Recreational Vehicle (RV) or boat parking.» At the end of each of these agreements is a provision (stated in BOLD TYPE): «any violation of these rules may result in forfeiture of the unit.» So, really, all management is doing, is following industry standards that have developed (and evolved) to address (and circumvent) the multitude of «possible situations» (for this region) that have the potential to develop and clearly lay out policies (and incorporate safeguards) that are designed to ensure the comfort, convenience, safety, and security of all the guests, and to make sure everyone’s visit is the best it can be.
Third, maybe it’s just me, but I got along really well with everyone in the office. So did all the other people that were in the office whenever I happened to be there. So do all the retirees who come down every «season» (when winter arrives in the northeast), year after year, and have come to depend on Richard and his crew to provide them with a warm, welcoming, safe, and secure «home away from home.» You’ll see them sitting in the glider under the trees across the street, or feeding the turtles and the fish in the koi pond.
In conclusion, I hope this review helps to clear the air about any potential misconceptions that may arise when reading reviews that appear to be «myopic in context» and/​or have an «axe to grind» over their particular situation and/​or encounter and are authored by someone whose screen name is «Adolofo H.» Or even worse, posted by operators who can’t compete or refuse to provide a commensurate (if not unbeatable) level of value, quality, and service and do nothing but confuse naïve, unfamiliar (and often weary) travelers needing truthful advice.
Based on my two visits (and more to come) Richard and his team work very hard at what they do, and the pride and enthusiasm they take in carrying out their responsibilities really shines through. They realize you have a choice when traveling, and strive to make sure your memories at their establishment (s) are fond ones!

the women behind the front desk are rude, dismissive and unpleasant to deal with, especially the blonde with glasses and the one with short curly brown hair (french women). the maid service is great, especially the black lady with long hair and always helped me deal with these french women’s attitudes.
i am staying here now and was hung up yesterday (after a long day at the hospital) when i told them someone took the blanket out of my room for a second time. i was also hung up on, laughed at and dismissed just a few minutes ago because i asked them about this white bird outside of my door in the cage… will not shut up and i am «home from work» due to sickness today.
i have a long day tomorrow and i need to get well for my job as a physician tomorrow. this bird is really annoying and i have been pleasant/​patient for too long now. the people here must not be able to respond appropriately when someone is polite to them. they are not helpful at all! i have been too nice for the last 5 weeks since coming here to live from ny due to hospital/​doctor job shortage/​reform, and they must have mistaken my kindness for weakness by the way they deal with guest complaints. i am really looking forward to leaving in a few days. never again will i stay here or recommend this roach/​flea motel to my worst enemy. the rooms are rented by the hour by prostitution as three couples checked into a single room at varous times during a single day. i have already filed complaint last night with the police department (my uncle) about my missing item that they laughed about like it was nothing. if it didnt mean something to me than i would not care but it was my daughters blanket that passed away from cancer last year… again these two french woman are always ready to fight by how they treat guests, and i have been nice until now… the squeaky wheel gets oiled unfortunately. its as if they do not know how to be respectful to other people until they realize just exactly who they are dealing with! five more days and then my house will be ready… thank god!

If I could give negative stars, I would. Worst place to stay, unless you like a camera watching your doorstep and daily room checks. NO PRIVACY AT ALL. And if they don’t like something, they will kick you out and take your money. You are not allowed to have visitors either. Overall, horrible experience. Staff is horrendous too.

The place is old, staff’s incompetent, rates totally preposterous. If your stay in South Florida includes crystal meth and hookers, this location is ideal.

I stayed at this extended stay Motel for two weeks the last time I was in the Hollywood Florida area for work.
I guess lets start with the good things. Cheap and Clean. Microwave and Fridge in my room. OK guess that was the short list.
The bad stuff well here is the list
1. I think my mom worked here. Twice I came into my room with a list of how I should keep my room. Once telling me to take out the trash. The 1^st time that this note was there I was a little annoyed since some of my stuff had just fell on the floor and was in whomever had inspected the room that days way. Oh yes they come in daily to make sure the air conditioning, tv and lights are off. One of those days it told me less than 10 minutes to get everything I would have liked it. Sorry if I was working 12 hours day and didn’t have time to pick up everything before I left for work. I mean REALLY?
2. Park situation is not ideal. I had to park on the street twice. The second time getting my car keyed. Which mean I wish I would have stayed somewhere with a better park situation. Paying more would have been worth it to save that hassle.
3. The internet is constantly cutting out. Several times I was without internet. This is frustrating as this is one of the things I require before staying some where. Not have constant internet is really irritating.
4. Not sure this is a great neighborhood for several reasons. See reason 2 for one of many.
5. When my tv did work the selection was quite awful.
Needless to say I don’t plan on staying here again.
