Pita Pockets

Came here for what we were hoping would be a quick dinner. It was close by so we figured we could order to go and be back home in no time. We got a prime parking spot right in front of the entrance and bee lined inside. Seeing as how we were the only customers, we felt pretty good about our personal time crunch. The guy behind the counter was super nice and was more than willing to answer any questions we had. We ended up ordering a kibbeh, falafel pita, and chicken kabob platter. The kibbeh is fried fresh and the chicken had to be cooked, so we had to wait an extra 15min. At least we knew we’d be getting quality food.
Kibbeh — Quite disappointing. Really small for the price and was lacking in flavor.
Falafel pita — Great! They really packed everything in here, but wrapped it well enough so that it all held together as you’re eating it. You do get some customization as they’re stuffing it with sauces and whatnot. I was actually surprised by how good this was and it made me regret not getting one.
Chicken kabob platter — You could tell the chicken was cooked fresh. It was juicy and tender (no fake stuff here!) and came with some rice, hummus, and salad. The hummus was really rich and creamy with a good earthy flavor. Would’ve gone better with some pita though. There was also some red sauce on the side that was awesome — I had to fight the bf for it.
Overall, a very satisfying meal (aside from the kibbeh) made even better by the staff. We won’t hesitate to return if we’re ever craving some Mediterranean.

This is my first review and im very disappointed at this store. I was fasting the whole today and decided to go to this place to break my fast. I got the beef shawarma platter. My hummus tasted more like baba ganoush. And the meat, it was so dry and rubbery. I guess with the time i went (almost closing) the meat has been rotating the whole time the meat eventually lost its moisture. They should’ve not serve me those. My stomach was full for something distasteful.

I loved coming to Pita Pockets and have been a faithful customer. Came by tonight at 9 for dinner and left before receiving my food. I watched as the cook prepared a to go order while starting up my order. He took out a tray of raw chicken and placed it on the same counter where I had watched him cutting the corners of pita and prep other food. I could see «chicken liquid» coming off the container and also fly out when he pulled out a chicken breast to place on the cooktop for us. He then put away the chicken container and prepped a to go box of fries on the same counter without cleaning it or his hands. I walked up to him and let him know what I had seen and cancelled my order. I will not be coming back here. Be vigilant when people are handling your food and the food of others. Salmonella is no joke.

Love the falafel! Friendly folks, reasonable prices, generous portions and great location — parking at the back.

Super friendly and quick service! The food was delicious. I had a Greek Chicken Shawarma and my sister had the Greek with Falafel! Everything was very fresh and the falafel was very unique and wonderful.

Under new management…
After coming to this location for over a year and loving the food, sadly, it took only one visit to know i will never set foot on this location again.
The new employee that they have on the line, is completely oblivious to what you want, you get what you get, extremely closed minded, and not customer oriented. If you stray a bit from the description of the menu, he will argue with you about it!
The Cherry on top… he argues with a customer over the phone about them getting sick from eating their food and the employee proceeds to tell the customer to show proof. Really? Not very enticing…
I miss the old employees that were nice, attentive, and customer friendly.

Everything is good! Amazing falafel and pita, friendly people, fast service. Will definitely be eating here more often.

Anyone who says this place is good is dead wrong. First off it was a million degrees inside, 91 outside, put the AC on. Second I ordered the beef and lamb platter and it was horrible. The meat was so tough and dry. The rice pilaf was old and crusty. The sauces weren’t even good to be honest. 14 $ What a let down. I’m not sure why everyone is raving about this place but it’s gross inside and the food is terrible.

I was headed over to Leavy’s or pita plus but I decided to stop in the pita pockets hands-​down the best pita place I’ve tried in Hollywood got to stop by and check it out

Under new management as of a couple months ago. The staff is energetic and positive, and you cant beat the value.
I had the shawarma lunch platter which included a soda. I took one that wasn’t part of the deal and they insisted that I take it anyway, which was very gracious of them. The chicken was deliciously seasoned and tender. It came with a salad, your choice of rice pilaf or lentil rice, a hearty serving of really creamy delicious hummus, some pita and garlic sauce. Everything totally hit the spot, and it was more than enough for me to share. At $ 12, how can you beat that?
Although I’m not from the area, I’m nearby occasionally, so I will for sure be back to try some of the other dishes they make.
Parking can be a little tough during the busy season, they said they have parking in the rear or there is a big parking lot across the street.

After reading all the positive Unilocal reviews, I decided to give this place a try!
The downside is the damn parking!!! But the food definitely makes up for it!
I ended up parking at a law firm, silently praying that my car doesn’t get towed, all for the love of food.
Ok…the place is really clean and that’s always a plus
I decided to go with a beef pita with toppings! I added hummus, a sour cream sauce, tomato, lettuce, pickles, and onions. it looked really good
The owner was really nice. I told her, I would be writing a review on Unilocal.
Ran to my car and devoured this pita sandwich. The sandwich was as fresh and good as it looked.
I highly recommend!

My husband and I happened upon this place almost by accident. We were planning on stopping by one of the neighboring restaurants for a quick dinner after leaving the Miami airport. But then pulled up in front of Pita Pockets and decided to try it instead.
We were honestly so pleasantly shocked at how high the quality of food and service was here. The hummus was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. We ended up buying a container to take home. Everything is homemade and they use organic and local ingredients. Don’t be fooled by the fast food feel of the place. It is seriously way more fresh than most upscale establishments.
Do yourself a favor and try it! Especially the hummus.

GREAT FIND! In between clients and looking for a meal that is somewhat healthy, I came across this spot, Pita Pocket. Although not huge there is a lot of available seating (inside and out…). The service is friendly and quick, but not hurried. All ingredients are homemade and fresh. I ordered the falafel pita. It was delicious!

Authentic and delicious. This place knows what they are doing. Staff is so friendly and welcoming. All of the sauces are SO GOOD I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW THEY MAKE GARLIC TASTE SO GOOD?! The hummus is a little too salty for my liking, but the platters are great, the rice is great, the chicken is delicious. QUICK QUICK lunch, in and out! I will go again! Also, get a side of the spicy sauce! It isn’t too to spicy, it has incredible flavor!

Was looking for quick lunch while at work and decided to try Pita Pockets. Parked a few blocks away due to limited parking. The place was poppin, people seated inside and outside, as well as people walking in grabbing their preordered to go lunches. I was greeted by who seemed very nice and greeted everyone coming in and leaving. He asked me what he could get for me today. I decided to go with the falafel sandwich. He told me that I would enjoy it very much and continued to talk to me asking if I worked around here etc, trying to make conversation while he made my meal. He was very nice and even went in the back to give me a sample of his lentil soup which was very good.
Once my food was ready, two falafel sandwiches with a little spicy sauce, I sat down and it smelt so good! They make everything to order so I had to wait a few minutes while he made my food. I took a bite and was blown away, so much flavor in the falafel and the salad was very fresh. It seemed like he added tahini, cucumber tomato salad, and the spicy sauce to the falafel. Simple, not to stuffed with things, and easy to eat without making a mess. The bread was extremely delicious! The best bread for a falafel sandwich I have ever had! So soft, warm, and yummy! Wish I ordered some on the side!
Overall the service was above and beyond and the falafel sandwich out of this world. Highly recommend!

What a fabulous place for Mediterranean food. We found it on Unilocal and decided to stop in one afternoon. It looks to be family owned and operated. I believe the day we went in the owner was cooking. The restaurant is small inside with a few tables and they have a few tables outside as well. Many patrons come in and out for take out orders as well.
I was quite pleased how clean it was. You order directly at the counter where the cook is or the cashier and they let you sit and relax before paying your bill. I grabbed a container of hummus from the refrigerated area which the cashier told me is made fresh daily. I really enjoyed the hummus, great flavor, creamy and excellent pita.
I chose the chicken schwarma pita wrap. Other than it being hard to eat because it is stuffed with great tasting chicken, all kinds of fresh veggies and taziki sauce, oh my the flavor was so delicious!!! I really enjoyed it very much and was so thankful no friends were around because eating it made me look like a starving animal. LOL My daughter enjoyed her meal very much as well.
They cook to order so be patient, sit back and trust me well worth the wait. This family operated business does a great job. See you again for some delicious food!

Ever since the 1^st Avengers Movie when at the end the Avengers are sitting down eating Shawarmas after NY was destoryed… I said to myself, I wonder how that Shawarma tastes. So, you know that I, Tha Unilocal Daddy, had to try it. Actually, it was pretty good! This joint came up as the closest place that sells Shawarmas, so this was my opportunity to peep it out! The service-​fast, friendly, accommodating and they deliver too! The food-​Fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere– clean. The décor-​Modern with a Mediterranean twist. The prices-​good and they even have lunch specials!
**Note: If you are dating someone who loves the Movie Avengers and they always wanted to try Shawarma then this place is a good place to start.
So, check it… I ordered the Shawarma wrap, which was good but it needed a little extra sauce, to make it Amazing and I ordered some falafels, which are tasty as well. I’ll be back to peep out some other things!

My friend is a vegetarian and craved falafel, so we Unilocal’d this restaurant to try. Unilocal did NOT disappoint! Pita Pockets is a delicious restaurant with authentic Middle Eastern foods. The cook, who also took our orders, was very helpful with explaining what he had to offer. He was incredibly nice and gave hefty proportions in each of our meals.
I chose the beef meal, which came with a combination of beef and lamb meat, two sides, and a pita. The freshness of the herbs in the Tabbouleh salad was refreshing. The hummus was smooth and flavorful. Both added to the delicious and hearty meats that are roasted in plain view of customers. The meat isn’t dried out, but tender and melts in the mouth.
I am daydreaming about the food as I write this…
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will not hesitate to return. Unlike other restaurants, you order your meal and take it to your seat. You pay after you finished your meal and ready to leave. It was something they had to explain to us when we ordered. I had a wonderful dining experience and I am happy to support a small business.
