Nail Matrix

I purchased a groupon for gel manicure and pedicure and parrafin treatment. I called to make my appointment for 4 pm and was confirmed. The next day they call and say they are over booked and need to reschedule me an hour early or an hour later, i decide to go an hour earlier. When I show up I am the only one there. I went to pick a polish which was a mission because they barely had any colors and then you had to figure out which one matched for your pedicure. I sat on a couch and dipped my feet in a plastic bucket for my pedicure. The lady brought her tools in a paper nakin, she didnt know how to clean cuticles and the paint job was the worst my 5yr old sister can do a better job. The gel manicure was the cheapest gel ever it looked more like a polish job rather than gel. They did not soak my nails nor clean them they just took the previous gel polish off and repolished over it. My nails were thin and could bend them back once she finished. I will never again do business with this merchant and will never buy a groupon from them again. I will continue to get my nails done at KT Nails and get the service needed with the opportunity to relax while getting pampered.
BTW another lady came in and an appt who had purchased a groupon she was 10 min late because she got lost since the sign to the salon says my nails NOT nail matrix therefore she had to reschedule her, I have no diea why because for the hour and half I was there not a single person came in through the door. They were so rude the poor lady I understand the lady was upset however as a merchant you must treat each customer with respect and empathy. They just simply did not care to help her or be nice.

What terrible service! I was given the wrong appointment time and once I got there I was told I was late so I had to allow them to work on others and wait around to see if I can be squeezed in. I waited half an hour and someone walked in when I was supposed to be next and I was skipped (they said they didn’t have an appointment) because I was a Living Social customer. I wasted my time for nothing b ecause they do not want Groupon customers only full paying customers. You’ll see that as soon as you arrive and see the rules posted on the door for Groupon people. Get ready to get treated like a third class citizen for redeeming your vouchers if you have one. Also they have no spas for pedicures, fyi. I will never return to this place.

Bought a gotta half it voucher. Called for 2 weeks straight with no answer and voice mail full. Went in to make an appointment for the following week, nothing available. The lady at the desk was a bitch. There was only 2 people in there. This place won’t last long. Go across the street in the public plaza, they are great.

I have not been able to get into this place yet, I’ve attempted to call and set an appt 3 times, each time they being booked up with not even an offering of scheduling a different day. Now I’ve tried calling 3 different t times on top of it with NO ANSWER to their telephone. My living social voucher is going to expire soon, and with the reviews I have already read, in tempted to just get a refund– my usual salon is Nail Trix and I never ever have an issue, I can even just walk in and be seen if need be. It’s a shame cause I was looking forward to trying something new.

I really enjoyed using my Groupon for a spa pedicure and gel manicure. My fingers and toes look great and everyone was very friendly! I liked the idea of the disposable liner in the pedicure tub. The salon was very nice and overall I had a great experience!

I recently used a Groupon-​type deal that covered:

The décor is spa-​like and I thought the girls were very nice. Like others have mentioned, I was the only customer for the majority of the time, but I don’t mind this.
I did not recieve what I (or many others) would consider a «deluxe spa pedicure.» It was rather quick and to the point. The bucket used to hold the water had a very delicate vibration and maybe needed new batteries? It didn’t matter because I was done before I knew it!
The manicure took a long time but looked great once finished. However, I think she added far too many coats because several of them peeled within the first 24 hours so I had to remove the rest. I have had no chip polish that lasts 1 – 2 weeks so this was very dissapointing and a big waste of time and money.
All in all I think they need to read the feedback they recieve and provide a more above and beyond type service. I feel that this business could flourish if the service and finished product were of a better quality, but it almost seems these employees are oblivious and feel they are providing a better service than what is actually being recieved. I could be wrong, it’s just the impression I got. I will not go back even with another coupon.

When I first walked in I noticed a sign that stated that no tips were to be on credit cards so I went to Winn Dixie and got cash for the tips. When I got back the Nail Tech Lauren took care of me and I have to say she is very skillful and fast. She got me done within less than fourty minutes. When it came time to pay I whipped out my Amex since there is a sign outside their door that displays the Amex Logo and Visa and Mastercard as the cards of acceptance only to have the poor girl run the card and get some sort of error message. She then asked her manager what did the error message stand for and without even lookng at me she shouts in front of eveyone «that means that the card is bad» making me feel like crap and embarrassed and the other customers looking ackward as well. The manager then had this attitude as though I was trying to cheat them when I pointed out to them that their three cards acceptance and that it would have been clearer if that had been told to me or posted on the door as they did the tips advisement. Lauren was a blessing and patiently understood and tried to help me out and will say that she was the only reason why I left with some grace. The manager was so unprofessional towards me and really could have been more diplomatic in realizing that I was not trying to take something away from her but that her mistake was not providing the correct information so that customers would be informed. I have never had this happen and really found it in such distaste towards the experience of being treated like some dead beat. Again the only saving grace in this situation was her Nail Techinician who was wonderful in her work and attitude with me.

I had two Groupons for this place. The first time I went here I had to wait almost an hour even though I had an appointment. The décor is stark and the service was just so-​so. Don’t expect a spa pedi — it’s just a bucket on the floor. The next time I went, I got there 5 minutes after my appointment time. My assigned nail tech was nowhere in sight. She appeared after 5 minutes and said she wouldn’t do my service because I was late. There was only 1 customer there being serviced by another nail tech and this girl had no customers and still wouldn’t do my nails! She was really nasty to me. I immediately left and called Groupon and asked for a refund. I would NEVER go back there again! If you have a Groupon, get your refund now.

Made an appointment granted I was late but was never told that if you’re over ten minutes late they automatically cancel and ask you to reschedule. They do not call to remind you of the appt. upon entering I was greeted by the receptionist with a horrible attitude. My appt was at 2 but then they had someone else scheduled at 230 so I have no idea how they were planning on doing a mani and pedi in 30 min. This place truly wasn’t worth the hassle. I asked groupon for a refund and instead took my business elsewhere.

The environment is not too appealing. It’s in a sketchy-​looking strip mall. The décor is tacky. The chairs are not comfortable. They use plastic buckets for the pedicures. The environment is not relaxing at all. At the look of the place I wanted to leave but I stayed because I didn’t want to waste my Groupon and I didn’t want to offend the owner who was very nice.
I should have left as I ended up going to my regular nail salon the same day to fix the bad job I got. They do not know how to do nails! My nails were filed unevenly. The girl did a very poor job with the polishing. I had polish on my skin. There were sections of my nails with no polish. She did a terrible job with the gel manicure. Less than 5 hours after my visit the gel came off completely from one of my fingers (see posted photo). The application was terrible as there were bubbles on the surface.

When I arrived there was one other customer. Seemed strange for a Saturday, but I will blame it on the rain. Pretty nice décor, overall clean. I must say the place wasn’t that fancy with the equipment. that looked like it was bought from your local Walmart. All in all, I had good service, good convo but I’ve had more professional looking nails before. But then again. it was a Groupon and now I know better.

TERRIBLE!!! Do NOT waste your money at this place. Went for a Groupon with a friend. Both of us were mortified at the awful customer service, the actual work done, their cheap useless, equipment etc. Let’s just say pleather chairs, plastic BUCKETS of room temperature water and not a single certificate in the entire place. I don’t think these people are even certified to be doing this. And the work showed! My 7 yo niece has given me better paint jobs. Nail tech was nasty and so was manager/​owner.
Save yourselves the trouble!

Went for a birthday gel mani/​pedi. I’d wanted to come on Friday (my birthday was on Thursday, ⁷⁄₁₂), but whomever answered the phone kept telling me that they were booked for every day but my birthday at 1pm, so I took the appointment anyway. It’s in a strip mall-​type shopping center at the end of the strip, so it’s very easy to find. The place is a nice size, very clean, and decorated well. There’s a minimalist aspect to the décor but, in my opinion, sometimes less is more. The first thing that I noticed is that, despite supposedly being «booked,» I was the only customer in the joint. All the technicians were sitting around waiting (for the appointments, I presume???), but hey, not my business. Everyone was very friendly and warm and my technician (I believe her name was Shellie) was, like, the sweetest woman ever. This was my first gel mani, so she explained the process and told me to pick a color for my feet to later match with my hands. Here’s the deal though: They have, like, 75 BAZILLION regular polishes and about 30 gel polishes. Hard to match, don’t you think??? Anyway, I was there for about 1.5 hours, which wasn’t too bad considering the fact that they mixed and matched different gel colors for me and made me my own color blend, which I thought was AWESOME. Plus, I had a living social deal for the gel mani/​pedi for only $ 25 bucks — DOUBLE AWESOME. Now… with all that «awesomeness,» I’m sure you’re wondering why I only gave this place 3 stars., right? Well, it’s because the paint on my right thumb chipped after only 3 days. I’m not upset though, because I did do some housework. And though I wore gloves, water kinda seeped into the gloves and wet my hands, so I’m not exactly sure it’s Nail Matrix’s fault. I will have to go back at least one more to make a FORMAL decision, but until then, I will say that the owner and technicians are warm and friendly, the shop is clean and sanitary, and Shellie did a great job! I’ll be back!

I feel bad writing this, because I found the owner to be so sweet. But I don’t think I will be returning. While I liked Leslie alot, and found her warm and friendly and the salon very clean and accommodating when I got home and took a good look at my nails I just was not that impressed. The gel manicure was kind of sloppy, and it was not until I left that I realized the appointment took nearly 3 hours. I am definitely more of a get in and out kind of customer. But a big plus for this salon was that although some people gripe about the lack of a foot spa I kind of liked the disposable liners they used in the foot tubs because I found it to be much more hygienic. Also the prices are very good $ 35 for gel mani/​pedi versus most places where it is between $ 45-​$ 50.

I purchased a Groupon Deal for Nail Matrix– $ 25 Gel Manicure and a Deluxe Pedicure. I was excited because I usually pay $ 45 for these services at my regular salon. This place had no reviews, but over 600 ppl purchased this deal, so I wasn’t the only one that believed this was a deal of a lifetime.
When I called to make an appointment, the receptionist (who I found out was the manager/​owner) was very sweet/​kind/​respectful and many other words that describe good customer service, so this eased my worry about going to a place with rude employees. My last experience with a Groupon/​Livingsocial deal, they tend to treat you as if you are not a real paying customer, but that wasn’t the impression I received at Nail Matrix.
When I arrived for my appointment. there were probably about 2 customers being served a the time, and only 2 workers. They greeted me as I walked through the door, the owner/​manager approached me and asked if I had an appointment, I said yes, she checked for my name, and told me that they are kind of behind because they hired a new girl but she was a no show. I didn’t mind, because it gave me a chance to feel the place out, relax my mind, pick a color, you know all the things that go into receiving such a service.
So about 10 minutes later, the other lady working there asked me how I would like my water for my pedicure and what color would I like. So I told her I had the Groupon and was receiving a Gel Manicure and wanted to match my nail and toe color (thinking that every salon had matching gel and toe polishes). So I go to pick out a gel color, they only had about 10 which wasn’t that bad. they used the brand Gelish, which I haven’t tried before, but I was opened to it. I picked a pretty Dark Lavander-​ish color and a alternate Hot Pink color since I am very indecisive when picking a polish color I will have on for 2 weeks. When I finally sat for my pedicure, the lady went to match the polish for my toes, however it wasn’t with the matching Gelish color, but with a regular brand that had a similar hue. So lets just say not a perfect match, but close enough, so I went with the lavender color, because that was the one that matched the most, and let’s just say the lavender for my nails was kind of a clear color and the one used on my feet was a creamy pastel color… yea not the best, but I proceeded.
The Pedicure… hmm… it was as if I paid someone to play with my feet. I could’ve done a better job myself. I usually get a mani/​pedi every 2 – 3 weeks so I know my feet look good but she barely touched my cuticles and in-​growns and let’s just say the foot scrub felt as if they were washing my feet with a rag. But I guess you can say I’ve had worse, and I know how to fix it myself at home. The polish was ok… painted on my cuticles, but it could pass.
The Gel Manicure. as I was getting my pedicure I saw how the lady struggled to do the lady before me, but I figured it was an issue with the color. Although, that did not stop me. Let me just say, I didn’t get a manicure. I received a scrub mud massage to my hands and arms and a polish. The lady (owner/​manager) said that my cuticles were nice and she didn’t want to cut them because they will grow back thick, so she just pushed them back. Then she began painting… I should’ve ran for the hills with the base coat. She kept skipping parts of my nails, which meant once the gel polish touches my nails it will stain, if the base isn’t applied properly. I told her the mistakes, she corrected them, so I figured what the hell. Then the gel color… so the color I chose you could barely see it because it kind of blended in with my nail, because it was a clear-​ish lavender. Her painting skills were that of a little kid… HORRIBLE… it was as if she was rushing… without rushing… she got it all over my skin and cuticles and didn’t clean it up as she was doing it. She kept saying she will fix it, she also didn’t get polish on every part of the nail. But she kept reassuring me she will fix it, because I kept pointing it out. In my head I was thinking this is gel, it is permanent, she cant just wipe it off. I got to the point where I was texting my regular nail tech to make an appointment to fix this monstrosity of a manicure.
When she finished the service I basically just gave her my Groupon code and walked out and drove straight to get my nails redone. My Nail Tech couldn’t stop laughing, she asked me if I was sure I got a mani and pedi and didn’t try to do the gel at home myself.
My advice if you purchased this Groupon, GET YOUR MONEY BACK!!!
