Laura is so sweet! I called her to set up some private training sessions to address my adult rescue dog’s separation anxiety and peeing in my apartment problem… rather than immediately setting up a visit (which I would’ve happily paid for) she spent a good half hour on the phone with me dishing out super helpful free advice and tips to solve each problem. So helpful and so refreshing to find someone that genuinely wants to help without a money motive! She seems really in tune with a dog’s mind and I will definitely give her a call again for anymore training/​boarding my pup needs!

Laura is wonderful. My dog Cubby and my cat Harriet were so happy with her and when they came home. I don’t feel like when I go out of town that I’m sending my pets to get boarded. I feel like I’m sending them to a fun summer camp where they will have a great time and I don’t have to worry.

We’ve been taking our lab-​beagle Scarlet to Laura since we moved to LA last summer. I’ve hesitated to write a review, mainly because I don’t want anyone else to know about her! Laura is amazing – Scarlet is really anxious and she barks all. the. time. However, after her initial excitement about getting to see Laura, Laura puts her magic touch on Scarlet, and Scarlet calms right down. When we leave Scarlet with Laura, it feels like we’re leaving her with a trusted friend – it’s clear that Laura loves dogs, and she will treat your pup like her own.
We’ve also had Laura walk Scarlet for us on days when we’re too crazy busy to make it home at a reasonable hour. On several occasions, Laura has saved us at the last minute when a late meeting pops up, and we realize that Scarlet is going to need attention before we can get home. We also had Laura groom Scarlet during her last stay, and she came home looking great!
All in all, Laura offers high-​quality pet care at a great price. She is super nice and very accommodating – now, don’t go stealing her from us!

I’ve set foot in several pet care facilities in Los Angeles and never have I come across a business more devoted to the animal than I have with Laura Kody and Goodness Pet Care.
I left Laura with my elderly cat and my young chihuahua for several weeks while I was out of town. The goals were to teach my young pup basic obedience (what Laura called «puppy preschool») and to care for my 19 year old cat with her severe health demands. Laura lived up to and exceeded all my expectations. Upon reuniting with my animals, I found my puppy a confident, well-​behaved boy who lost none of his excitement or youthful spirit in the training process (something I originally feared when I considered dog traning). I later found that this is something Laura is well aware of and implements in her training– never crushing a dog’s spirit while instilling basic obedience and trust with its owner.
My cat was pronounced «healthier than a cat half her age» when I took her to the vet after staying with Laura. I couldn’t ask for more! Not to mention, Laura was always just a call away and I knew exactly who was handling my pets.
I also cannot leave without saying that in just the few training and care sessions I’ve had with Laura I can tell she is one of a kind. Unlike many pet care providers I’ve worked with Laura is extremely sweet and personable with humans too! She is also truly devoted to her craft-​constantly researching new training philosophies, care products, dietary innovations, and ways to grow as a trainer and pet care professional. Animals aren’t just a business for her, they’re a beautiful part of her life. And I get so excited that my animals get to bask in her world once in a while instead of loafing around my apartment all day ;)

I am the proud owner of a 65lb Pit/​lab (young) and a 15lb miniature pintcher (adult). All i can say is I am soooooo glad I came across Goodness Pet Care and Laura. I am a student who was troubled by my two rescued dogs which I could not even take out to a dog park, hikes, beach, or even a walk around the block. Problems ranged from destroying my furniture with damages totaling in the thousands, to barking, nuisance, excessive energy and lack of control, leash aggression, dog park problems, and the complete inability to control them in public.
Living within my means I found Goodness pet care on craigslist and was blown away once i met Laura with her knowledge and commitment to animals in general. She took on my dogs and gave me a fantastic price that no place would even come close to. As part of my program, she was to board my dogs for about 2 weeks to break them into the habits of being well trained members of my family. When 2 weeks hit Laura told me she saw a lot of potential in my dogs and asked permission to hang on to them a little longer at no cost to me to really get all the commands down.
When I first received my pups back it was truly a night and day difference and Laura walked me through what it would take to maintain them. I was finally able to go hiking on and off leash, dog parks, and enjoy my dogs.
Since then I have continued to work with Laura and my dogs to advance the training and she is my primary dog care provider and go to person. She literally drops everything to help my dogs and accommodate me as a client. DONT FORGET people, its up to «us» to maintain the discipline she teachers our dogs and to alter our actions to improve on their skills.
Finally, my dogs are so well trained now that I am able to take them anywhere off leash and have virtually full control of them even with people and other dogs around. Truly an amazing feeling.
It has been such an amazing process seeing my dogs transform and such a pleasure working with Laura. This is not an overnight process, its a change in lifestyle.
LASTLY, you will not be disappointed with Laura. I am sure there are little people in this business who care about animals and life as much as her and are not in this for the mere buck. She will honestly go above and beyond to care for your pets.
