History

Established in 1969.

We started Bob’s Rooter in 1969 with my father. After 10 years of strictly drain cleaning I went on to get my plumbing contractors license in 1980 when I had repeated request for plumbing projects. Moved to Santa Clarita in 1987 and raised a family, of course with the help of my beautiful wife Candy. Today we now appreciate our 5 grand kids as my son’s and daughter help me move the business forward. If your looking for a honest, fair plumber you can trust, your in the right place.

I’ve been in the plumbing and drain cleaning business since 1969 (46 YEARS! Boy does time fly) and I’m still having a blast continuing my fathers legacy through my sons and daughter who now work in the business as well. I take pride in the fact that I was always taught to treat others as you would want to be treated and that means being fare and honest to whom we are serving. My son’s and I will walk you through a step by step process to get behind the cause of your plumbing and sewer drain issues. I look forward to meeting and doing business with you. After a bathroom disaster, at my daughter’s home in Saugus, my choice was Bob’s Rooter. I left a message with the receptionist and received a call back within a few minutes! Then Shane, Bob’s son, showed up and ta da, the problem was fixed. He explained what else could be causing the issue and all was well UNTIL two days later when — embarrassingly — the same issue reared its ugly head. Time to call Bob’s again. Shane came back, greeted me at my door with a heartfelt smile and a «no worries» empathetic manner. Much needed. Let’s face it, «bathroom» emergencies are humiliating. It’s something we don’t talk about. So, I’m «yelping» about it! Call Bob’s for any plumbing issue, not just the one’s we don’t talk about. ;)

I am a real estate sales person in Glendale and I have been using Bob and his sons for years not just for sewer line camera inspections but for actual repairs and upgrades. They are personable, honest and efficient.
The housing stock in my area is pushing a century old. These homes weren’t built with the foresight to anticipate a lot of the issues homeowners face today. I have learned to give all tradesmen work on these properties a lot of respect and patience. Code requirements, technology and home fashion change over time and these guys all find themselves having to be very creative in their pursuit of customer satisfaction.
Bob’s did the sewer line re-​pipe on my house 8 years ago and I’ve had no problems. All of my clients have been impressed with their service and work. We use them on our rental properties too.
I highly recommend Bob’s Rooter & Plumbing and if for some reason they have to push your appointment or reschedule, I can promise you it’s not because they’re off having a beer somewhere. It’s because the client before you has a way bigger mess on their hands than they thought they did when they called in. Just use that time to pray to the heavens that you won’t be facing the same darn thing.

After many years of service, Bobs Plumping broke through an upstairs pipe above the kitchin. The result was 3,500. and for a new pipe, we then paid another 2, OOO .
To replace the downstairs kitchen ceasing .
Two months later it rained and the patch that was done on the outside of the house leaked badly!!! Thats when our ceiling had to be replaced. We hired a reliable contractor to find out what caused the leek and it was traced to the plumbing that was reported to be incurectly done. Bob would not return my calls when I asked that he pay for part of the repair work which had to be redone.
If you want a company that stands behind the work…“go elsewhere «. What a nightmarish experience.

Bob and his family have done work for use for years — in our home in the valley and at my mother-​in-​laws’ in Los Feliz. They are extremely nice people, very knowledgeable, able to do underground sewer jobs that most other plumbers can’t do, and they don’t try to oversell you.

Had used these guys several times in the past and was quite happy. But after the last experience, I’m banishing them for life! Bob’s nephew Bill and I went through multiple negotiations about when he might show up and do the job. Of course, he was always late or didn’t show at all. The job took multiple visits to complete as he needed parts or whatever. Each time was again, will he show up or not??? Waiting, waiting. In the end, the job was complete, but a faucet was not fixed properly and was leaking. Last time I saw him, he said he would return with the part and fix it. He never showed up again and I was never even given an invoice. I called the office, yet they still never sent an invoice. Months and months later, I receive an invoice. Ridiculously unprofessional!

Update to my previous review of Bob’s Rooter and Plumbing:
After a bad experience with them (see my previous review) a couple months ago, I was surprised to get an invoice from them in the mail this week. Their invoice states that my kitchen drain was cleared on 2/​28, by a technician named «Bill».
Problem is, their technician never showed up at my house, much less cleared my drain! They never mentioned any cancellation charge (which would have been ridiculous anyway).
Unbelievable.
By the way, this bill was not a computer glitch, or an automated billing mistake. This is an invoice that clearly states that a technician showed up at my house and cleared my drain. In my book that’s not an honest mistake, it’s a complete lie.
I knew they had terrible customer service.
Now I know they are dishonest as well.
Do NOT give them your business.

These guys are awesome! Jason — Bob’s kin — drove from Santa Clarita to Hollywood on a holiday night to help with a leaky faucet that was on the verge of exploding. Total bathroom lifesaver! Will never call anyone besides Bob’s again for future plumbing issues. Thanks again, Jason!

Glad we found this plumber. He’s local, too. I called 4 plumbers late in the day… around 5:30 PM. Bob’s was the only one who said they could have someone come take a look at my non-​emergency situation that evening. The others were scheduled to come to give me an estimate the next day.
I had two problems. One problem was much simpler than we expected. Jonathan (from Bob’s) took a look at the pipe and basically corrected the problem right there at no charge. Apparently, it was just a loose screw (or something like that).
The second problem was a slow draining sink. Initially, Jonathon thought he just needed to clean out the pipes and garbage disposal, however, the disposal ended up needing to be replaced or removed. We decided to remove it. He provided a fair priced estimate and said he would come back another day to finish fixing the problem.
In the meantime, I continued to get estimates from the other plumbers. Bob’s was the most reasonably priced estimate and Jonathan’s customer service was excellent. He did all his work on a work blanket. When he was done, he rolled up the blanket and took all his trash/​debris out to his van. He left my kitchen clean. He finished the job in 1 hour and invoiced me for the exact estimate.
The process was so smooth. I recommend using Bob’s Rooter & Plumbing.

I requested a call on the website on Saturday morning. I was a little anxious, so when I did not get a call in 45 minutes, I called. They told someone would be out in a few hours. Just like they said, Donny showed up and worked 7 hours straight. All plumbing clogged up and needed to be snaked to the street. Donny and Armando came back today (Tuesday) as promiced, installed a clean out valve, poured new cement and finished the job. Luckily it wasn’t as big a problem as it could have been. We worked out a payment plan. Easy, super nice, clean and efficient. I found my new plumbing company! I would HIGHLY recommend them without any hesitation.

I have used Bob as our plumber for two years. We have had big problems (redoing our main sewer pipe) to small fixes like a drippy faucet. And whether big or small Bob is there with the correct solution. He takes the anxiety out of the process. Bob and his sons are the best plumbers ever. They are polite, knowledgeable, honest with an incredible work ethic. You will find yourself rubbing your eyes in disbelief – am I dreaming – when you find yourself getting expert, excellent service and the cost is reasonable. I highly recommend them.

I have used the franchise plumbers before, but this time, I chanced upon Bob’s company doing an internet search, and was swayed by the customer reviews. I am taking the time to write this — because I was so pleased with every aspect of their service. From the very friendly and helpful response at the end of the first phone call, to the scheduling of a quick and convenient appointment, to the technician arriving on time! The first time we used them, we had a chronically plugged bathroom drain, which they cleared for about $ 173. My husband has poured at least that much Drano down the drain in the last five years I have complained about it :-) So happy was I that I brought them back to replace a kitchen faucet that broke. The plumber actually went and picked one out for us at the store and came back and installed it! Beautiful job! I almost wish something else was broken so I could call them again.

Bob’s did a good job installing my tankless hot water heater, so I started using them for other things. Big mistake! They struggled to install a low-​flow toilet (taking 4 hours); later it became obvious they’d installed the seat incorrectly. One unsuccessful fix later, I had to get my contractor in to re-​do it. But the worst thing is that – for the four calls I’ve had since the water heater installation – they are chronically late, calling toward the end of whatever window they gave me to say it’s going to be another couple of hours. The fact that I can’t be here at whatever time is convenient for them always comes as a shock. Also, it’s a family business, so the receptionist can be as snippy and brusque as she wants – she can’t be fired.

I interviewed three companies to replace my main sewer line. Bob gave the best assessment (trenchless) and remedy for the repair. The work was flawless, his equipment and technicians were top quality. We are very happy that we hired Bob and will recommend him to all of our friends and family. The price was very fair especially when you consider that he is fully licensed and insured.

Bob took on a really messed up job from another plumbing company (Schuelke) that I had major problems with & filed a CSLB complaint against & won. It’s a testament to Bob’s confidence & service that he took this job on — knowing that there were previous problems. Most contractors would shy away from this sort of thing but he didn’t — even after knowing the full story. His sons & nephews were courteous, professional and they did an awesome clean-​up job in my backyard! They even fixed my tub for free. I am so satisfied with him & his guys that I now have a plumber for life!

We’ve been using Bob’s for years and have found them to be professional, courteous and always willing to go above & beyond to get us back on track. I know many Los Feliz Village businesses use them also — to do minor work and/​or complete renovations. Word on the street around here is that they are reliable. Channel 2 did an undercover camera spot on them and they came out not only as good plumbers but honest to boot!

THIS PLACE IS BAD. I desperately needed a plumber to fix 3 few things in my house– after having to miss a whole day of work (they called to push the time back & then of course showed up late on top of that) + choking down a very large bill, TWO of them are still broken! Lame. Too bad you can’t give negative stars.
