This is to the previous comment bill and dicks is the best shop all in Hollywood that i have ever been too they have been in business for many many years ive been going to them myself for 25 years they are very good and very honest. .it seems to me your first mistake was buying a car that is an 1989 car thats. Been sitting for 6 months and is 26 years old there mechanics not miracle. Workers if you had a problem you should have just gone back in and they would have helped you so anybody reading these feel safe to know bill and dicks is a great shop to go to i give them 5 stars Leona. Brought an 89 cavalier z24 in that had been sitting for six months and wasn’t running right. Smelled like it was running rich and kept breaking down after the check engine light came on.
Day one computer might be bad…
Day two all fuel injectors need to be replaced 600 dollar job. Ok do what needs to be done.
After I get it back breaks down again within the hour I bring it back and tell them about the check engine light again and wait another day. I’m told it is most likely overheating there is is a leak in the heater coil (which there was I can admit) and they fixed it. I spent another 85 dollars in labor only.
I get it back and it breaks down twice on the way to work (and check engine light turns on again!) and runs only somewhat better so I decide to plug in the computer and run a diagnostic myself. Turns out the o2 sensor and throttle position sensor are both bad so I replace them myself and now she runs fine.
So why weren’t those sensors checked before I went ahead and spent all that money on fuel injectors?
At least try the smaller things first and go from there is all I have to say, they had absolutely no consideration for the amount of money this was costing me or just uneducated mechanics now. I used to trust these guys.
