Pik A Pup Kennel

My boyfriend and I got our dog, Jack, back in February. He had a rough time with kennel cough before we got him and we were told in advance, which made it easy for us to look for any distress signals. The staff was polite and really cared about the animals. Highly recommended.

Bought a puppy here a couple months ago and he’s perfectly healthy and has a great temperament. I have had no issues with socialization. I’m very satisfied with my new puppy.

I bought my fist dog there in 1996. He was a apricot mini poodle. I cannot recall the exact year he was, but for at least the last 8 to 10 years of his life (he live to be 15), he started coughing a lot. It sounded like a bad bronchial cough. I brought him to the Vet and was told he had an enlarged heart and he was placed on Enalapril. He had to get echo cardiograms every 6 months (which was not cheap) and finally by the time he was 15 we had to put him down because he was suffering. He became disorientated and he was vomitting, not eating and his cough was worse than ever. We brought him to Tufts and they thought he may have a neurological problem and a problem with his pancreas and wanted to keep him over night to do a ultrasound and give him pain meds etc. It was the hardest decision I had to make (me and my husband have no children and he was our baby) and rather than see him suffer, we knew his time on this earth was up and that we had given him all the love and care two people could ever give. He was our baby boy.
A year after he had passed, we decide to get another mini poodle. I checked online to see if pik a pup was still in business and they were. Me and my husband went on their website and there he was! An adorable red mini poodle with unusual markings. A white belly and white tips of his paws. I knew immediately I had to have him. We immediately made the 45 minute drive and bought him. When we got him home he started coughing. We called pik a pup and they told us he probably has kennel cough and that they would cover the Vet bill if he needed any medication etc. Sure enough he did have kennel cough and pik a pup covered the bill. We have now had him for 1 year and 8 months. Today I read a 2 page article in the Worcester Telegram about a Oxford, Ma called «Laughlin Kennel». Needless to say it wasn’t in the paper because it was the best kennel. The article stated that Laughlin Kennel was a puppy mill and had sold people sick puppies that died. I had read reviews about pik a pup and there were good and bad reviews that everyplace. But something told me to do some research… I looked up the breeders name since I could not find any information on the internet about the name of the breeders kennel. I looked at my dogs paperwork and saw that the breeders name was «Catherine Rexwinkle from Rexwinkle Ranch in Welch, OK. So I did a search for Catherine Rexwinkle. And lo and behold there was an article about her selling a sick puppy to a store in Maryland. The puppy an intestinal parasites and a number of other medical complications and died. I am so angry at myself that I trusted pik a pup to go back there to by my current dog only to find out now that my dog came from this Catherine Rexwinkle and pik a pup in turn took him in and sold him to me. I am sure pik a pup knew about this Catherine Rexwinkle. I was never told the breeders info. until after I paid for my dog. Had I knew the breeders info. before hand I would have went to a reputable breeder. So far we have not had any problems with our mini poodle other than the kennel cough he had when we took him home and went away after we brought him to Vet. But I pray everyday that he does not develop more serious medical complications further down the road like my other mini poodle did that that I purchased from pik a pup in 1996. Knowing what I do now and after reading the many negative reviews, I have to come to the conclusion that the negative reviews are true. Pik a pup is indeed a puppy mill and I will never go back there to buy a dog again.

I work close by to pik a pup and used to go visit the puppies on my lunch break. The puppies were always so happy and well cared for and the employees let me stay as long as I wanted. When it came time to get a puppy of my own my husband and I knew exactly where to go. We got the cutest Boston terrier in 2011 who will be turning 4. He came with papers and all of his current shots. We couldn’t be happier with our pup and recommend pik a pup to anyone who wants a happy and healthy puppy!

After a poor experience with a previous breeder I decided to stop by Pik-​A-​Pup kennel to see if any lab pups were available. All puppy kennels were very clean, puppies all look happy and very heathy. No one visiting can touch puppies unless strongly considering taking one home and I noticed staff wash their hands frequently. On the day I was supposed to take my puppy home she began having GI problems. Staff were diligent in communicating the issues with me and were very honest. They would not allow me to take pup home until issues were resolved. They also had a vet on the premises ASAP to take care of my little girl. I am so appreciative of the quick and quality care given to my little yellow lab. Special thanks to Lea

We got our little fury friend Jake from Pik-​A Pup on Sep 28^th 2015 He is a Boggle (Boston Terrier/​Beagle). The staff was fantastic. I saw Jake on their FB site and my decision was made at that point packed up family and went up to get him. I would recommend them to anyone Jakes Vet gave him the once over the week we got him and said he was in great health. Jake is training to be a service dog for me. I would give 5 stars for service, will recommend and price for value.

DO NOT BUY A DOG HERE! we bought 2 puppies 2 years ago from this Pik a Pup because they were hypoallergenic and difficult to find. We love them more than anything but we have spent THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS on vet bills… for the first 8 months they battled Giardia and we could not get rid of it as well as kennel cough… One of my dogs would have died of a heart murmer if we did not give her surgery 7 months after we bought her, and my other dog is now 2 yrs old and is diagnosed with kidney disease, is expected to live another year, and has a catarack that needs surgery. These poor puppies were not bred well and will cost you so much money in the end once you are attached to the adorable dogs… Some of my family and friends had luck and had pretty healthy dogs bought from here but it is NOT worth the risk…

Back in 2001 I purchased a chihuahua here. They happen to be the only place in MA I could find this breed. I grossly over paid and will never buy a animal ever again knowing how many homless pets need adoption. He was an amazing dog and I loved him more than life. He had health problems all the time and recently died of a heart murmur. He was supposed to be pure bread, there is no way he was, he grew to look and be the size of a jack russel.
PLEASE DO NOT BUY YOUR DOG ! GO TO A POUND AND RESCUE!
Places like this should not be in buisness. They are dishonest and a puppy mill.
I am thankful for saving my pup from this place and miss him dearly.

We got our second dog Roxy (Hava-​Tzu) here in September. We tried finding a small breed dog at local shelters and were having no luck so we checked this place out. We looked at a couple puppies and once we met Roxy we knew she was the one. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They even called to check in on her after we brought her home. Roxy has been to the vet for all of her vaccines and was spayed last month, not only is she in perfect health, she also became a favorite at the vets office. She’s great with our two kids and our 11yr old dog. While I fully support adopting from shelters sometimes that isn’t an option and if that’s the case I highly recommend pik a pup.

This is a puppy mill. Please do not buy puppies from here. It just takes a little research online to find a good breeder. A lot of breeds can have major health problems that will cost you a lot of money. A health guarantee is only good if it is at least 2 years. A lot of genetic problems may not show up for that long. There is a reason you cant see the puppies mother or father. The mom is probably in a small wire cage being overbred and not handled with love. Maybe in Pennsylvania or Ohio where there are a lot of puppy mills. Ask these people about the parents or about the breeds health issues and concerns.

This place needs to be shut down. Supports puppy mills and inbreeding. How could you go buy a puppy when there are thousands in shelters that need homes?

This place claims to get their dogs from local breeders, but they are in fact puppy mills. Please research puppy mills and the horrific conditions that dogs go through at these places. Supporting a place like this is supporting puppy mills, meaning they will stay in business and continue to grow.

My husband and I started looking for a dog about 2 years ago. We came across the Pikapup website and checked it every Friday when new puppies would arrive. One day I saw a picture of a small maltipoo who caught my eye. We rushed over to meet him and were blown away by his personality and how loving he was. After a few minutes of playing with him, we knew we couldnt leave without him. My husband and I left with the most amazing dog we could ever imagine and named him Ninja! We are so lucky to have found him. He brings joy to our hearts everyday! Now 2 years later he is still the cutest and most loving animal I have ever had. Our family wouldnt be the same without him.
I will agree with some of the previous reviews, the building from the outside looks inviting, but inside could use a lot of updating. The prices are outrageous! 2 years ago I bought my small Maltipoo for $ 750 which was a lot for us, now the same type of dog costs over a thousand dollars. There are many sweet dogs at shelters who deserve a good home and cost one third of the price. The area that the dogs are kept in don’t have toys or anything for them to play with, but all their photos online show them next to teddybears which is sad.
I am very thankful that I found Ninja and that the process thru Pikapup was simple and quick. I will however look elsewhere for my next dog because the prices are just too high.

I got both of my Siberian Huskies here. The staff was extremely helpful and answered any questions my husband and I had. They even called a couple days after we took our pups home to check up on them. I agree that the building could use a renovation and the prices are a bit steep, but all in all, I had a pleasant experience at Pik A Pup.

My boyfriend and I came across this place while passing through Holliston. We both love animals so we stopped in.
The puppies were throughout the building in a few different rooms. The place is a disaster. The entire house needs a complete renovation. The ceiling was falling apart and there were obvious water marks all over. It looked completely run down. Chipped paint, dirty floors, out of date décor. It I’m buying a puppy, I want to know it was taken care of and living in better conditions– especially with those prices!!!
VERY pricey. If you’re selling animals at those prices, maybe put some work into the interior!
The pens that held the pups were a bit messy. A woman came over to talk about some of them and started ripping up a magazine and throwing the pages into the pens. The dogs went nuts and were certainly having fun, but it would make sense to maybe get them REAL dog toys. Puppies especially, have no idea what’s right and wrong and I imagine they might be ingesting paper.
It really makes me wonder where they get these dogs. It’s very concerning…

The outside of the building is old and we were hesitant about what puppy we would find here. However, on my second visit we just got a very cute Shi Chon mix here and had a great experience with Shelley. Although the kennel was very busy with customers, puppies and workers, Shelley was very thorough, organized and caring with the puppies. She was especially meticulous about hand washing and all our puppy’s paper work. The cost was more than I expected, especially given their big «Puppy Sale» sign on the road outside, but our choice of our mix bred puppy was perfect for our interests and lifestyle. Ask for the website advertised as free carrier or bring your own. Overall I would recommend this place.

Well I was going to give them a four stars for puppy care minus one star for unknown puppy origins, but their customer service skills left me flabbergast.
I received an original paperwork from them, and on the first page with red ink was a star and a note «not good english». What’s up with that? If you want to label the customer that is fine, just use sticky notes. Sending something like that back to a customer is completely insulting.

Its really hard finding a good place to buy dogs ESPECIALLY in MA. My sister in law found this place so we came to check it out. She fell in love with the pomeranian there so she bought her. She wasn’t sick or had anything wrong with her except for an eye infection. Nothing serious though. A few weeks later I went there to get my pomeranian. This time instead of a guy sitting at the front desk it was a lady. She made me want to write this review. While i was signing papers she told me of everything that could happen to my pup and once i was done signing everything she asked me if i wanted to buy any food. I told her no, but she went on ahead and gave me two cans of wet food and a plastic bag of dry food for free just incase my pup wouldnt eat any other food. And when i walked out she called me back and took my northface and covered the pom and told me to keep him warm since he was a pup. This is my first time getting a dog but from her actions, it really made me feel like she cared for the pups there.

You will not want to purchase one of these dogs, if you learn about the fate of their parents. Visit this website

I went here with my sister, who is thinking about getting a dog. From the outside, it looks like a cute pink house with paw prints painted on the front. When we walked in, I got nervous.
The gentleman working there showed us where the puppies were, and it is spread out through three rooms. The cages the puppies are in were really gross. The poor babies were walking around the dirty cages with matted fur. :(The girl working there was mopping the floor and seemed to be cleaning a little, but this place needs a whole renovation. The floors are concrete, and there were no heaters or anything. Those poor puppies must get pretty cold at night. I also noticed that they has ELEVEN puppies in one little thing. They were small (lhasa apso and teddybears) but GOD, that is too much. They didn’t have any toys, just a paper towel roll.
This place made my heart break for all those puppies who need a home. I also found Pik a Pup on the
. But allegedly, they are under new management so I don’t know how accurate that is. :-/
