Got my wisdom teeth taken out on Monday! The nurse that took care of me I believe her name was Irma. She was so sweet! Made this experience better and I’m healing nicely! Thanks Dr. Slaughter and Irma!

OK, all I can say is that this guy took my wisdom teeth out in 1981 when he was practicing in Salinas, and I was in the 8^th grade; he had also done my siblings’ in the mid 70’s!
In reading the reviews here, he clearly still is the BOMB that he was way back then. I even poked around the web for his current profile photo, and still is good lookin’ and as youthful as ever!

Dr. Slaughter, despite his intimidating name (which was especially intimidating to me as I have a fear of the dentist and constantly have anxiety attacks while at the dentist), was awesome.
I have Medi-​cal so I was referred to this dental office by my dentist to have my wisdom teeth removed. I sent in my x-​rays and my paperwork in February and by June I was concerned that I had not heard anything back from them especially since I had initially been told by them that I would have my appointment in May or June. So mid June I called them and was informed that I would be receiving a phone call from them in the next few weeks. Sure enough they called me during the first week of July and to my surprise scheduled my appointment for July 10^th, the following Friday.
On the morning of my appointment I was freaking out, since as previously mentioned I have a huge fear of the dentist and the thought of having oral surgery was frightening and causing me pre-​dentist anxiety. I got there at 7:20 am as my appointment was scheduled at 7:30 am. I paid the $ 20.00 visit fee and was told they would be calling me back shortly. Within 5 minutes I was already in the surgery room being explained the post-​wisdom teeth removal procedure as well as the risks and dangers of having my wisdom teeth removed. I was informed that I had to remove all of my facial piercings as well as my earnings because of the risk of anything falling into my mouth while they were extracting my teeth. They connected a monitor to me, an IV and wham bam I was falling asleep. I did freak out when they administered the nitrous oxide as the assistant that was holding the distributor over my face and sitting behind me I kind of felt like I was being attacked, but this was all just due to my dental-​anxiety (I have had bad experiences at the dentist). I awoke at around 8:40 an was taken to the recovery room where my mom was waiting for me as well as my jewelry :). After about half an hour of recuperating I was on my way home.
All in all it was an excellent experience. Everyone there was super nice and accommodating. I had all four wisdom teeth extracted and it was completely painless. I never even had to use the painkillers they prescribed me.
Although, I personally didn’t have a choice where to get my teeth removed as Dr. Slaghter is one of the only oral surgeons in the area that accepts Medi-​cal, I am happy it was his office that took care of me. He was great and so was everyone that works there that I encountered. if i had to do it again (which I am sooo happy i do not have to) I would go to Dr. Slaughter even if I had the option to go to anyone else.

I finally got my teeth out, Feb 6^th. It was quick, painless and everybody was so pleasant. Desiree was great, totally kind, patient and professional.

After getting referred to this office from my dentist I have tried to set up multiple appointments to no avail. I have gone back to my dentist as was recommended by the women that work for Dr. Slaughter to get a referral form to have sent to them. I did this and called back and was told that I need to go back to my dentists office again and get ANOTHER referral form on my own and sent it to them on my own. When I told the woman on the phone that I do not understand why I need another form after having sent them one originally and then requesting another, she told me that she did not have the time to look through the forms that got sent to them to find me, so another form is required from my dentist along with other forms that need to be sent through mail.
Why is it that I need to get a third form to your office when the so called «manager» just told me she doesn’t want to take the time to do her job and find the form that was already sent to her?
When I started to get frustrated and explained I just need dental care and am trying to figure this out because it is confusing to me, i was told that there is a 3 month waiting period for patients and I am better off going somewhere else. This is the only office near where I live that carries my insurance and to be told to go somewhere else was infuriating. At this point I said «This is F**king confusing i don’t understand» and was promptly hung up with. I do not understand how I was in the wrong after asking for an explanation. I called back obviously more irritated than before and despite my frustration towards the previous woman, a different woman answered and explained things to me in a manner that I could understand, going into much more detail than the previous woman.
If you are looking into getting your teeth work here, I suggest somewhere else because, as suggested by Dr. Slaughters office manager, there is a 3 month wait period and you are better off somewhere else.

Dr. Slaughter’s care and professional staff are outstanding! They go out of their way to insure that your needs are met before and after surgery! If you are nervous about having any work done, Desiree will make you relax and be at ease! They are the best! Honesty and integrity is always demonstrated at this office!

So I came here yesterday for my wisdom teeth extractions, and let me just say how totally scared I was! I was nervous and sweaty the whole shabang! But let me just start by saying EVERYONE IN THE OFFICE WAS SUPER NICE! Very professional and caring, which is not something I come across very often at dental offices. Desire (I’m not sure if I spelled her name right) was SUPER AMAZING! Very nice, easy to talk to, very comforting and just all around a great help! We talked the whole time I was in the back just cool conversation. She made me feel right at ease! Vanessa was super sweet as well. U know, having nice and caring people work at places like that for people like me is really a plus. That was my first time having any sort of major work done on my mouth and I was so scared! Having them greet me the way they did really made a difference. They took good care of me and I would definitely go back! (Hopefully not any time soon) hahaha! Dr. Slaughter is really nice and professional. This place is the place to go if u have to have dental work done. I was in and out within a couple of hours. Great first experience for something (I feel) is very major! Thanks you guys for making my visit quick and easy! You have no idea how much you’re appreciated :)

I am so glad I went to Dr Slaughter to get my wisdom teeth taken out! I was absolutely terrified to get my wisdom teeth removed and had put off the surgery for months because of it. I had heard such great things about Dr. slaughter so I finally worked up the courage to give them a call an make a appointment. The woman I spoke to on the phone was so nice and helpful I could tell I was in good hands already. I was able to get an appointment right away. Day of the surgery I was very anxious. I told them how much anxiety I had, I asked a million questions because I was so nervous. The whole staff was so sweet and patient with me, they made me feel very comfortable. Next thing I knew I was waking up from the surgery so happy and relived everything went so well! They gave me a very clear and detailed list of things to expect post surgery and things to do to help for a smooth recovery. I’m thrilled with how I healed up and feeling great now that these teeth are finally out!

My friends brother needed a tooth extracted ASAP. They got him in same day and they we’re awesome! Loved Dr Slaughter and Desiree was awesome everyone is great there!

19 year old teenager had his 4 wisdom teeth pulled with a short recovery. All communication was great and expectations were set up front.

This office has the best team ever! From the front to back. Today i had my bottom wisdom teeth extracted, i was very nervous but every one made me feel really comfortable. As of now i am feeling really good of course i have a lil pain but its normal since it was a surgery lol but i will definitely recommend this office to every1 i know. Appt was at 9:30, its now 11 and I still haven’t been seen. So what was the appt even for, so frustrating.
Staff of front was very friendly, but staff in back seemed immature.
At this time they inform me they Only do extractions there for Denti-​Cal, Ahhh thats not what I need.

Dr. Slaughter and his team are excellent. Had surgery two days ago to extract all four of my wisdom teeth. When the assistants started to give me my laughing gas I began to giggle, I was soo nervous about going under that then I started to cry. Dr. Slaughter wiped away my tears and assured me he was gonna take care of me. That made me feel safe with him. He was so caring and very kind. I’m glad I went to this office. I absolutely love the staff and love Dr.Slaughter. Thanks again Dr. Slaughter and team!!!

I became disabled and unable to work in 2006. Fortunately the State of California provides FANTASTIC Medical and have had nothing but wonderful care. Unfortunately the State had to eliminate Dentical for adults to help a very strained State budget. So I have had to rely on low cost dental services which many of you know can leave a lot to be desired. The clinic I was using has spent 4 two hour visits to do one root canal. A couple weeks before my last appointment to complete the root canal, the tooth broke in half! After going in they said it could not be saved. Fortunately they recommended two Oral Surgeons and Dr. Slaughter was the only one who would except the small DENTICAL insurance that does pay for extraction. I have had to three extractions previously (all at low cost facilities) I knew this place was different from the start. After explaining to the phone scheduler my discomfort she was able to find an appointment just three days away. (The other clinic could not see me for 16 days) later that night, obviously from her home she called and said there was a cancellation and I could come in the next day! Upon arrival the staff was professional but warm. After getting to the procedure room and expressing my apprehension based on my previous experiences each of the staff assured me to relax and that I had absolutely nothing to be concerned about. As they busily worked to prep me for the procedure Dr. Slaughter came in expressed his confidence as well and began to study my ex rays and medical history in a way that left me feeling quite confident and assured. Because of my disability and health problems I have met many Dr.“s and have had 8 Surgeries since 2005. This surgery proceeded without any pain or discomfort, and lasted less the 20 minuets. As I now reflect on the whole experience I feel that I was very lucky to have been referred to Dr. Slaughter. Its obvious that his years of education, surgeries and creating a well trained and professional staff make all the difference for the patient like myself. I had to drive an hour and ten mins. to see him, and would not hesitate to do it again.

saw doctor today. first, about scheduling. Staff went out of their way to accomodate my schedule and the fact that I am coming from about one hour away. They squeezed me in and did a consultation and a procedure on the same day as I wanted. The doctor got in touch with my dentist, examined existing x-​rays and discussed the case at length with my regular doctor. Then, when I came, he took one more set of x-​rays and only then proceeded to the extraction. I was very nervous and expected at least some discomfort with this extraction as the peice of old tooth that the doctor was taking out was deep in my jaw, almost half way up my eye or so it seemed. Not only I did not have any pain during the procedure (he put a gas mask, IV sedation and a local anasthetic in the place of extraction), but nothing 12 hours after. I feel very grateful and relieved, would not hesitate to go to him again. Wonderful caring stuff too.
