Specialties
Lemonjello’s Coffee exists to provide coffee, music, and community that is sincere, beyond fashion, and an infusion of pop culture and artistic integrity.
Our coffee is roasted by our friends at Madcap Coffee Company in Grand Rapids, MI and Halfwit Coffee Roasters in Chicago, IL, with occasional offerings by other folks roasting great coffee. We’re committed to serving you coffees that are grown, processed, imported, and roasted with the same dedication to quality that we have when making your beverage.
Great coffee lends to great baking, so we serve our very own goods made right here and baked fresh every day. Alongside our standard muffins, cookies, & scones, we offer a number of gluten-free, vegan, and organic products.
At the end of the day, we think that combining great people and great products can make a world of difference. Join us!
History
Established in 2003.
Lemonjello’s Coffee started small and expanded in 2005 to double its capacity. On the brink of both Hope College and Downtown Holland, Michigan, it has become a hub for community. Lemonjello’s also operates one of Michigan’s longest-running all ages concert venues, regularly hosting local and regional bands and solo artists. In recent years, the store has become better known for it’s bakery (specializing in gluten-free and vegan goods) and for their involvement in the Barista Guild, the US Barista Competition, and the Brewer’s Cup. 2013 launched a partnership with Madcap Coffee Company and HalfWit Coffee Roasters to heighten their coffee service and return to their roots as a forward-thinking coffee establishment.
Meet the Business Owner
Matthew and Lindsey S.
Business Owner
Matt began Lemonjello’s with a desire to create a successful venue with an income to sustain it. He ended up falling in love with coffee and building a successful coffee business at the same time that he’s been able to build a solid reputation as a venue owner.
Matt works the coffee bar every day, running the business as hands on as possible. Outside of that, he has competed in both the regional and national US Barista Competitions in 2012 and 2013. He is a Barista Guild of America member, with his level 1 & 2 certification, and a Specialty Coffee Association of America instructor.
Lindsey came on board in 2006 as a designer and consultant. She fell more in love with coffee, sought out further education, and joined the team full time as the barista trainer and head of design, advertising, and social media. Outside of the store, Lindsey is a certified US Barista Competition Judge and is writing a book on coffee education.
