I really dislike writing poor reviews, 100% believe a business runs from great custom care and service. To go without boring everyone with emotional detail, I have decided to pull my children from the activities with HE Park District all bc of rude and unprofessional staff. Michael Kelly, front desk associate always does what is best and upon a disagreement he grabed someone above him…
she came out less helpful and basically told me that its my fault and i should have come in to check dates and books for a particular sport my children play. Feeling that i let me son down and very irritated by her mannorism i shook my head. The woman proceeded to tell me don’t shake my head i should have known better and walks away. Blown away by her customer service i ask to speak with the director of the particular sport bc i wanted to pull both my children from the program. The director came out handed me a piece of paper and said fill this out and we will see what we can do if we can refund you. Did not ask about this situation, did not attempt to keep our family, did not do anything set the paper down and walked away.
The part that upsets me most is we are a new family to the HE area. We are a young family and very excited to get involved with our community. My children are very active and love sports. Its a shame that this facility, which btw is very clean with great amenities, has such unprofessional staff.
I train people on customer service for a living and to be honest this is below the 101 class of how to treat people with respect. I left embarrassed sobbing my eyes out.

I had visited the center for a friend’s son’s first birthday and the hall was decently sized would fit a capacity of about 40 – 50 odd people and some 15 – 20 kids. The staff were pretty helpful when needed.

This is my kids’ favorite ice rink. We come for public skate on the weekends. They love the music and semi-​cosmic skate (disco ball lighting).
Wide mix of skill level here with a lot of newbies and beginners. Skate guards on hand and there’s always a good sized crowd on the weekends. Ice is pretty smooth.
Concession stand and a few tables, also vending machines and some arcade games. Fun rink for skating.

Great park district recreation center.
Around $ 20 a month/​person for a membership to their gym.
The gym is basic but clean and gives you all the tools you really need.
Hardly ever crowded.
They have great hours and are opened on holidays.
