Hoffman Estates Community Bank

I stopped in here yesterday to open up a second checking account and line of credit based upon the recommendation of one of my neighbors. I travel a great deal for work so I have to keep accurate accounting of all my business expenses which are then reimbursed to me. I figured that it just might be easier to get a separate account to better organize my personal vs business expenditures.
My personal bank account is with US Bank and the branches here are awful. Suffice to say I was certainly not in any hurry to give them more of my business.
I am really glad I took Steph’s advice as these people were fantastic to work with! Night and day difference compared to folks at US Bank. The banker that I worked with on my account was exceptionally courteous, very knowledgeable and answered all of my various questions (I had a TON too).
They offer free checking, competitive rates on credit, and a scope of services that is far more vast than what you would expect for a smaller, more local bank. Their online accounting software, FinanceWorks, is also vastly superior than what is offered though US Bank.

I have had different accounts here since this bank opened. I have always enjoyed the personal service from all of the staff– everyone gives great service. Some of the staff has been there since this bank opened. They also have something that few other banks offer– a loan against a CD at a very attractive rate– 2% over the CD rate. This makes it very easy to self-​finance a larger purchase like a car– so much easier to pay yourself back rather than just cash in savings and have to start all over to save. They also offer check overdraft at a reasonable cost. This is a hidden gem in the banking business.
