Gail Gerber, MD

I’ve been going to Dr. Gerber since I was 18 — scratch that, I HAD been going to her since I was 18, but no longer. I still can’t believe that when you’re in a situation where you don’t have insurance and need an extension on your prescription until you are able to visit again when you do have insurance, that Dr. Gerber would rather cut you off then help you out. Pretty heartless, after all these years.

Dr. Gerber is very friendly and professional. She has helped me through years of routine exams, birth control options, and watching my uterine fibroid to make sure nothing unusual its going on with it. She is experienced and knowledgeable and listens to me. She even did some reading on Fibromyalgia after I told her I was diagnosed. Her willingness to listen and learn, as well as her great bedside manner is what makes her so great at what she does.
Staff at this office is pretty friendly, but the office is unfortunately still using paper for everything, from prescriptions to lab tests. I would like to see the office catch up with electronic communications with pharmacies and labs, as my other doctors in the Advocate medical group, who are well connected. There is also a rather loud television on in the waiting room, which I do not care much for. It makes it impossible to read or focus on preparing questions for the doctor visit.

I’ve been going to Dr. Gerber’s office for at least 4 years now and she has always been very intuitive, friendly, and caring whenever I’ve went for my annual papsmear and examination.
She is efficient and really cares about her patients. I wish I had known her when I was having my second child. I would have loved to have had her deliver my daughter. :)
I had chosen male OB/​GYN doctors in the past, but I have found that Dr. Gerber is a great doctor as well. :) She is responsive to my questions and gives me all the options available.
I am not disappointed with her bedside manner or care. I will definitely see her year after year and recommend her to women who need a new OB/​GYN doc.
