History

Established in 2007.

The Studio is the concept of J. Christian an internationally recognized platform artist and master educator for Sexy Hair.

A native New Yorker, J. Christian studied cosmetology there after experiencing the New York Hair Show as a teenager.

While many internationally renowned hair artists have influenced J. Christian, for the past 10 years Michael O’Rourke, founder of Sexy Hair & The Institute of Courage has been a close friend and mentor. Working with Michael, J. Christian has learned to continually challenge and expand his art through studying and incorporating aspects of nature and architecture to achieve higher levels of movement, texture, color and shape.

The Institute of Courage is a Hair Academy located in the Topanga Canyon, near Los Angeles. J. Christian is a member of the Academic Staff and teaches at the institute several times a year.
