Wee Babe

Awesome place to buy the essentials (and some just adorable extras!) for baby! My husband and I came in here when we realized we wanted to jazz up our Uppababy Vista and distinguish it from the masses since there are about a zillion of them in Hoboken! We stopped in on a Sunday morning and it was quite busy. Not only were we immediately helped, the associates at the store were genuinely interested in hearing what we wanted and suggesting multiple solutions. I was especially impressed because the products we were looking at were in the $ 15 – 20 range, and they still spent ample time helping us! Some of the other customers were looking at strollers and high priced items so we were grateful they still gave us attention. I will be back here to shop as I love the look and feel of the store.

Just had an awful experience at this store today. I walked in b/​c they listed a specific seat liner I was looking for on their website, and it had the ability to pick up in store, so I thought I’d walk down and see it in person. When I couldn’t find it on my own the saleswoman asked if I needed any help, so I asked about the liner. She told that the manufacturer had discontinued it. I mentioned that they have it up on their website for sale, and she basically blew me off and said nope we don’t have any. Ok annoying, but not the worst. She then proceeded to ask me why I would have purchased the stroller I did, I explained my reasons and she told me I should have bought something else. When I asked what she would recommend, because I haven’t used the stroller yet and can still return it, she gave me one suggestion, which my parents already own and I didn’t want a duplicate, and that was it. She was EXTREMELY condescending and demeaning. Honestly with places like BambiBaby in town, who go out of their way and are so helpful I don’t know why anyone would need to go here and deal with not nice people.

So… I ended up buying several items here. .a cute yellow-​canopy stroller, coincidentally on small-​business Saturday (?), car seat, a skin to skin shirt to hold baby close, Honest washing detergent and household cleaning spray… Oh and a cup holder for the stroller to hold my coffee. A second car seat base… I’m definitely a fan of this store due to the staff and with hopes I don’t need to recycle any more boxes at home… Lol… we’ve been eyeing other toys here as well…:). They will hold your car seat and stroller until your ready to pick it up (I.e. Closer to due date). Golden.

Didn’t buy our stroller and car seat adapter there but when we finally got Jr home and ready for his first walk, the directions we were given were incomplete. (couldn’t get car seat to nest in stroller)
I walked the stroller up to Wee Babe and they helped me put it together. Good customer service and will be back for additional needs & supplies.

Update — this store no longer accepts Buy Buy Baby coupons. I was told that the vendors are having an issue with their policy so they have changed the policy. I don’t believe this to be true because why would the same vendors not have an issue with Buy Buy Baby accepting coupons and discounting the same products?

My purchase experience today was nothing short of EXCEPTIONAL! The sales rep Edwin really took his time in helping me select the best parent facing stroller for my daughter! He explained all features and benefits of each stroller thus helping me choose the Mama & Papa Urbo. The small appeal of the store is great and I intend on returning for future purchases! Thanks

I actually have very polarized opinion about this store. The selection is really great, I looked at kids toys, books and clothes. All of the cutest and most useful things I have bought already were in this small space (so if you go straight there you will not spend a lot of time in online researching like I have). On the other hand I find this store overly expensive in comparison to online stores… for example a baby Zutano dress was priced around $ 50 and I bought it at the beginning of the summer online for $ 17! A couple of toys too were heavily overpriced, so I am not even sure how other reviewers wrote that pricing is OK???

I love this place. It’s my go-​to place when I need to get a gift for a little one. I also love to support small businesses. I also love their selection. It’s not huge and confusing like a Buy Buy Baby. It’s quaint and you feel like you are buying something you can’t get at a big store.
I cannot stress how helpful the staff is. They ask you questions about what you’re looking for and instead of selling you the most popular gift/​gadget. they show you the item that fits the situation perfectly. Also. decently priced!

Amazing store for stuff for toddlers! Found my nephew some really unique and trendy clothes! The sales girl — Milli had shut the store as we were walking by, but she reopened the store and allowed us to purchase things. Customer service was amazing. Overall a great store and a better staff!

However I was so happy with this experience I wanted to give merit when due…
In a day when great customer service seems to be forgotten… Wee Babe seems to treasure it.
Walked in looking for a stroller for my brother and his girlfriend who are expecting.
I must admit I don’t know much about the necessities of a baby (therefore I was probably very annoying with all my of questions) to my surprise, not only were all my questions answered but in a very professional and caring manner.
I found the staff to be very KNOWLEDGABLE (so hard to find), friendly and very helpful.
It is a great boutique to get all your baby needs as they know what there are talking about.
The selection is pretty great for being a boutique… very chic and functional.
(I was also given the option to order to my specifications if I wished).
All in all a refreshingly positive shopping experience where I was not treated like a number.

Shortly after I found out I was expecting Wee babe opened. It was great experience for my husband and I as first time parents to find this store and become educated by the owners on what we need vs what we don’t need. We did one of our registries with Wee Babe which was great because they have an online registry. Its also nice to have a local store that has items that not everyone has. I was against going to register at buy buy baby and babies are us because you can get that stuff everywhere and I was looking for a different selection. I loved being able to walk in and deal with the owners not some clerk who really isn’t knowledgeable or has children. I’m giving 4 stars because their system didn’t always update when items were purchased and this went on for a few months of back and forth. Ultimately we had a few multiples when we had the shower which was a little annoying, but we were able to exchange no problem! The ladies there were very sweet and apologetic for the inconvenience and not to mention super helpful when we made returns. Other than that, the overall selection at Wee Babe is amazing. I love my stroller and infant car seat, by Mamas and Papas and I get tons of compliments on all of the items from Wee Babe.

Walked in today with a friend to start my search for the perfect stroller for when my daughter is born in a few months. Not even knowing what questions to ask, the staff helped guide me through some of the basic differences between the top brands. Not ready to purchase just yet but I walked out knowing 300% more about strollers than when I had first walked in. It feels great knowing that I will be able to make a truly informed decision very soon!

This is by far the best place to shop for anything related to babies and young children!
A small boutique it may seem, but step in and they have the best of the best available — and if they don’t, they will do everything to help you get it.
The entire staff is incredibly knowledgeable on every item and they continuously research what is new in the market and whether or not it is worth your investment. The best part is that the staff never really «sells» to you. They educate and really let you decide and are genuinely happy if they see you walk away having learned something new. And you always do. They really take their time to answer everything and its clear that they love what they do and they love helping people.
Their prices are exactly the same to everywhere else I’ve looked. The difference is they are there to help you if something doesn’t work.
Definitely worth a pop in… even if you just need a unique gift for someone else’s kids!
