Let me say, «I had a great time at NovemBEERfest in Hoboken». It was a well planned event with plenty of room to drink, sit and eat. The event was held at The Village Pourhouse a bar and restaurant in Hoboken. For the price of $ 60 you get 10 drink tickets and pretzels. I must say $ 60 for 102 oz beer taste, outrageous to highway robbery. I did not see a charity or fundraiser as the beneficiary to this high admission price. I now have to thank Unilocal and Stephanie Y for tickets. I won a couple of tickets, so this made the event cost effective. I would not even consider NovemBEERfest with a $ 120 price tag for my wife and I to enjoy splitting a 40. THANKYOU Unilocal and Yo Steph. Like I said, NovemBEERfest was a well oiled machine. The bartenders did a great job serving all the tasty suds. The selection was small, around 30 or so, but there were a few I never tasted. I liked some and loved others, but as I learned in attending these types of events, it is very subjective. My taste buds just like different beers than say my wife who has a completely different taste profile. This is why I enjoy these events. To try. To sample. To enjoy. I have to give KUDOS to the staff of The Village Pourhouse. Everyone was friendly with a smile. One of the young waitresses even got me a bar stool without even asking for one. Thank you! I have to add that I had some of the best wings. Definitely in my top 3 or 4 places. They were juicy, tasty, spicy and meaty. Damn good wings and did I say 25 cents during their Saturday football special. Very nice. Also, don’t forget half price Bomb’s during halftime of main TV game. Also very nice. Overall, my wife and I had a great time. As a consumer I would not pay $ 60 for a very limited amount of beer samples. If this was a fundraiser or charity event; no issues. But, it was not as far as I know. I wished Village Pourhouse was down the street in Astoria. I would be a regular with their huge selection of beers, TVs and those delicious wings.
