My wife and I were involved in a unique situation where we were looking to purchase a condo that was right next door to our condo, whereas we wanted to connect both units to make our place bigger. Brian was the perfect person to help guide us through this. He was able to creatively formulate a strategy to help us secure our condo in the most efficient and economical way. At the time, we were involved in a bidding war. It is at this point that Brian really showed his true value and his complete understanding of real estate law. He was not only able to successfully guide us through securing the property but he also was able to educate us on the law of rent control and how to legally combine both units.
I have dealt with a lot of real estate attorney’s in the past and without a doubt I believe Brian is the gold standard in this field. I would recommend him without reservation.

I closed a house in Bergen-​Lafayette section of Jersey City with Brian in May 2015. His services came recommended by my realtor. He guided me towards a good lender after one I was ready to use required too much time to deliver the loan. He successfully achieved an extension from the seller and ensured that seller had done due diligence with removal of the oil tank. Closing was organized, thorough and swift. He fees were fair for the amount of time he put in and the quality of product delivered.

This was my second closing with Brian in past 12 months, that itself says how much i trust him and his work. My second home was a short sale and took 6 months to close and was a night mare. We had quite a number of obstacles and would get quite nervous about them but every time after talking to Brian we would get comfortable and confidence that we will get through. He takes his time to make you understand every details you would want to know. It shows that he has a lotta experience dealing with various scenarios. Right from the start he would explain on how the process would go and set the expectations right. He is tough on negotiations and you would want someone like him on your side (hope not on the opposite site :)). He would not budge on any un-​reasonable request from the opposite parties. His fees might be a bit on the higher side but the quality of work, effort and RESULT over compensates. I personally would rather have someone like him who know what he is doing and not give up when things go off track. I would not hesitate to recommend Brian to a friend. He is professional and that means he keeps your best interests as his client in mind at all times. His compensation is fair for this area, he has been around for many years and has many relationships in town. We had a surprise pop up on closing day and he took care of it quickly and thoroughly. It worked out to my advantage in the end. He provided transparency and took the time to talk to me whenever I needed to. I can not say I have any regrets in using him.

Brian and his team, Rosa and Janelle were incredible throughout my first condo purchase. They were thorough and attentive through the entire process. From the first time I spoke with Brian on the phone, I could tell this guy had experience. From the conditions of the particular condo sale I explained, he was able to give me a detailed summary of the challenges to expect — and yes it was a difficult sale because it was a condo conversion. He’s not a basic flat fee lawyer so don’t expect a bargain, but you can expect quality and expertise. The seller’s lawyer was somewhat ridiculous with his initial contractual demands (he wanted my 1 year old son to be responsible for any foreseeable debt in the near future), but Brian was able to work out a thorough compromise. Throughout the process he was able to answer my questions and was on my mortgage broker’s case about getting the loan to clear. Also, my family and I had to move in the house condo before closing and Brian came in on a weekend night to make sure the rental agreement before closing was squared away a day before we had to move out of our old apartment.
If your potential home buy is intricate and potentially difficult, I highly recommend to at least speaking with him and getting his perspective on the matter. His genuine interest and legal knowledge sold me to his services from the first phone consultation. I just have to warn you it might be long.

I was an Real Estate broker myself for 3 years in Boston, so having met many RE attorneys in the past — Brian clearly had a wealth of experience he had especially as it pertains to the very Hoboken-​esque nuances of RE laws and regulations and processes that i had no idea about (ex. Hoboken Rent Control laws, difference in sales process than Massachusetts) that were very important in our sale. He went to great length to really give me all the details to educate me on these differences, very thorough and patient with all my questions, and gave us valuable feedback and counsel on how we should proceed at different stages of the sale.
