What a wonderful experience! My wife and I took my son for a hair cut, and got way more than we could have hoped for. The location was easy to find, and is located in a section of Hoboken that is not as congested as the Eastern portion — which means parking was readily available on the street, or in the back of the building.
Upon entering the salon, we were greeted and our son was sat shortly thereafter. The staff was really friendly, and made a point to ensure that each snip was acceptable before cutting his hair… a consideration my wife really appreciated.
He got to sit in a Lamborghini barber chair, and could request any movie he wanted to watch while he got his hair cut. A truly wise way to set up each work station since it distracts the kids from moving as much, and makes their experience all the more enjoyable.
My son also received a couple of toys on his way out, along with a lolly pop.
I rate this place 10 out of 10.

Amazing place for a kid’s haircut. The salon is clean and well-​decorated with plenty of gadgets, screens and toys to keep the kids happy — overall a very warm environment. Furthermore, the staff is very friendly and more importantly, very patient. I would highly recommend this location for a child’s first haircut and the many that follow.

I don’t live in Hoboken, so anytime I need to drive here I dread looking for parking. The Monroe center not only has its own lot but I also find street parking right out front on a regular basis. Every business operating in this building has phenomenal working space with great light and an open airy feel. Just 4 kids has a great space with ample natural light which is super important when it comes to any art form (including hairdressing :-) the décor suits boys and girls of any age with toys and books while you wait as well. Everything is very clean and it looks like keeping the community toys sanitary is a high priority which is important to me as a mom (think about how many hands touch those things? Thanks guys!)
The staff here is extremely friendly! I ask for Samantha whenever I make an appointment. She is always accommodating and is great with layering my sons hair. They make it a point not to just give generic kid haircuts which definitely helps my son keep his individuality with rocking hair. (I’ve even asked Samantha If she ever had time would she cut my hair ! They’re that good :) They’re great with the kids and very engaging. There are race car chairs as well as normal chairs for big kids with a tv at each station. The Apple TV is connected to Netflix, YouTube etc, so whatever calms your child is there at your fingertips. When we first began coming here my son requested to watch jeopardy … Request honored!
They have a small gift shop area and everything is extremely reasonable, especially for Hoboken. After the haircut your child can have a lollipop and a small toy of their choice from the basket. Thanks to Samantha and this salon, my son actually looks forward to his hair cuts.

Olga cut my 3 yr old daughter’s hair today and did a fantastic job. Very friendly atmosphere and ample parking behind the building. A very positive first experience. I would highly recommend.

Quick, fast and efficient for toddler haircuts. My son (16 months) loved the car chairs. I was thankful they could put on his favorite songs/​videos on their personal TVs to distract him. We will be going back for sure.

No other place I’d take my children for cuts. They are professional, flexible, always cheerful, and do a fantastic job. I’ve taken my 5 year old and 3 year old (starting when the youngest was 18 months). The staff are talented and make every effort to know their regular customers. You can almost always walk-​in and feel the fun atmosphere. Can’t get better that this! Love them.

Went here for my son’s first haircut and was very pleased. Samantha was very patient with my son and took her time. Since he was only one year old he didn’t always sit still but she still did a great job! His hair was even and stylish when he was done. Look forward to going back when he needs his next haircut. Also, there is a huge parking lot which is an added bonus for Hoboken.

It’s a great place to bring my girls for their haircut. Great customer service, great ambiance, great hair cuts!!! That’s all a mom needs!!!

I absolutely loved this place! My daughter hosted her 9^th birthday party here and there were no kinks. The service was great. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly. It’s a great place to have a private event. The kids danced, played, ate and got their nails, toes and facials. #just4kids

I made a last minute appointment yesterday and Samantha happily penciled us in! The place is amazing! Very bright, welcoming colors. There were toys for the kids to play with, the chairs where the kids get their haircuts are the most adorable cars where the wheels actually move, something my son totally appreciated! He is a four year old boy who refuses to sit still. Ida (hope i spelled it right lol) was the stylist who worked on my sons hair. She was kind and extremely patient. She gave him an AMAZING haircut, which I’m so grateful for! When he was finished, he was awarded a prize along with a lollipop for being a good customer
Samantha was very kind to my son and made him feel totally relaxed and i truly look forward to making this place our new home for my sons haircuts!
I read some bad reviews on here and i completely disagree with them, so I felt the need to make sure i gave them 5 stars. I wish i could give them more! Give them a try. You wont regret it!

I suppose the good reviews are of the little perks and «specials» they do for your child but I had the same encounter as most of the other reviewers who gave one stars. It’s our first time here and unfortunately I witness the worst haircut my child has had in the short 2 years of his life.
He has always had great experiences while having his hair cut. Yes, he turns his head and he looks up, down and around periodically. But he isn’t disruptive. How many toddlers under 2 can look straight and not move at all? Thats why we go to a kids hair salon isn’t it? Hoping that the stylist will be more patient and better at working around moving kids and still give a great hair cut right?
If I show you my child’s previous hair cuts, you’ll know why I am outraged. At Just 4 kids, they don’t patiently trim or layer. They chop and make blunt and messy cuts with a scissors. When they try to layer, they chop an awkward hole on the side of my kid’s head. Not even the front is done properly. the sides of his fringe are chopped off awkwardly and the fringe is long and short in the worst possible way. They place the scissors on bare skin. Even adults sometimes cringe much less a child. if I wanted him to hate getting a haircut, I would do it myself.
If your child gets a haircut and they cringe when the hair stylist cuts his/​her hair, please know that it isn’t just cause your child just doesn’t like hair cuts. It’s just cause he/​she hasn’t had a good stylist. Thank God my son has had good stylists before from other places or I would end up blaming my poor innocent child for being a child.
*update: The day after this review was made, the boss of the salon rang me on my phone. We spoke about the bad experience and my review. He didn’t defend or side his stylist. Instead apologized and offered a chance to make things right. I told him I would be fair to take this review down if our next experience is a better one.

5.10.15 Just went back for our 2^nd haircut & the experience was just as great. I travel at least 20 minutes to this place & I’ll keep coming back– when my daughter is a little bit older I plan to have her birthday party as well.

Third time was not a charm. The first cut the stylist layered my three year old daughter’s hair and it took a full year to recover. The second cut at 4YO was almost as bad. I actually attempted to try the place a third time with my 2YO because I know she’d get a kick out of the cars and Apple TV, but when I arrived they took too many walk ins ahead of our appointment and asked me to wait an hour… with a two year old! It didn’t even occur to them to give me a phone call before we arrived. We left and I assure you we won’t be returning. Bad cuts, bad service for an EXPENSIVE $ 25 kids cut.

I took my 18 month old daughter here today for her very first hair cut after reading all the positive reviews on Unilocal.It was a little tricky to find the place but definitely worth it. The lovely Olga helped make it a quick and painless experience, which was enhanced even more by the kid-​friendly seats, personal tv screens and cute certificate. My little girl left there very happy to have received a lollipop and toy — and mommy was thrilled with her hair cut!

Just 4 Kids is the best for offsite lice treatment! We had a family emergency last month when my nieces had a lice outbreak at their pre-​school.
We were referred to J4K by the school. I gave them a call and they arrived at our home same day. The lice tech was courteous, professional and understanding. She was extremely attentive to both my nieces while easing their worry and frustration.
The girl was literally at our place for a few hours while thoroughly completing the treatment for our whole family. I learned that it takes a long time to do properly because if a single nit or bug is missed, it can result in a brand new outbreak!
A week later, both my nieces went into the salon for a free follow up lice check. Fortunately, they were both clear of any more bugs. They also received a cute certificate clearing them!
Despite the event putting our whole family in a panic for a full week, the salon and their service were extremely dependable and efficient. I highly recommend using them for offsite lice treatment — Thank you Just 4 Kids!

My daughter was invited to one of her closest friend’s birthday to Just 4 Kids a she was having a Spa Theme for her 6^th Birthday .I almost read the invitation twice to confirm as I had never heard of a Spa for little kids.
We got to the party a little before time and I bumped into the host near the parking lot. She had her hands full with all the stuff for the party and there was another guy giving her a hand with the rest of the stuff. Later I learned that guy was none other than the owner Steve.
As soon as the girls walked in they were each given nice pink robe. Some girls were escorted to the manicure station and rest to the pedicure station. They even had the movie Frozen playing which is sure favorite with any girl.
Everything went so smooth and the staff were extra nice and really pampered the girls. The tables were set up beautifully. Towards the end they even had a ramp walk for the girls to pose. My daughter went up to the owner and asked him to play her favorite song ‘All about the Jazz’. He was really sweet and he played it right away. She of course danced through the whole song. They had some great pizzas for all the guests.
All in all a great place to make your kids feel special on their special days. All the girls had a blast. They have some great packages listed on their website.
Cant recommend them enough.

Took our daughter to get her hair cut so that we could donate it to Wigs For Kids. The owner and both girls working there could not have been any nicer. This is a wonderful spot where girls can be girls and also does a great job. Looking forward to many more visits here.

This is a boutique specializing in kids haircuts and kids birthday parties. They also have a salon geared for children as well. They accept appointments and walk-​ins.
Great ambiance and a terrific location, can’t say enough good things about it. Will definitely return and suggest giving it a shot there if you’re living in NJ.
