Hudson Square Salon

I came in a few weeks ago with my hair color a total (admittedly self inflicted) mess. Michelle fixed me up from partially pink hair to a perfect brunette/​copper bayalage. She takes her time to make sure everything is just right. Everyone in the salon is very nice and personable. The place is a little pricey, but well worth it!

I had a great experience at this salon! Michelle color corrected my hair and the results were better than I ever imagined. I have been wanting to get rid of my dyed black hair for years but no one was up for the challenge. Michelle is very talented and knows what she is doing. She offers great recommendations and advice. I’m so glad I found this salon and Michelle! I will be going back for color and cuts in the future!

Maria is a fine stylist — she has good instincts and taste in helping you find a good look for you. As well, she is meticulous in her execution — unfailingly making sure every detail is beautiful and correct.

Can I give 6 stars? My entire experience at Hudson Salon was absolutely ah-​mazing! I had «virgin» hair when I walked in — and was a bit nervous to change things up. After Michelle & Gerry did their magic, I left with a gorgeous ombré that I love, love, love! The salon is in a great location, the staff is professional, easy to talk to, and most importantly, experts in their field. I would undoubtedly recommend this salon experience upon anyone. The magic Michelle did on my hair is incredible! Not only does she know how to do an amazing ombré but she is very knowledgable with color correcting! My hair has been through a lot and was all different shades of brown/​blonde. She matched my ends to my roots perfectly in one application of tinting. Now my ombré is perfect, but of course! I asked for a soft natural look and that’s what I got. It’s the perfect golden brown to match my dark down hair. Her technique is unique and I believe that’s what makes her so amazing! The salon itself is very very clean and welcoming. The owner Gerry is very polite and knowledgable. Their personalities are great to be around makes the whole process even better. Thank you!!! This salon has to be the best salon I’ve been to in a really long time! Great staff, made me feel so welcomed and comfortable to talk about anything and ask questions about what was being done without any hesitation.
I got my hair done by Michelle and she really knows her stuff. She’s very knowledgeable on her colors and made me feel confident on her decisions. She took me from a white blonde that had a lot of breakage, to my natural color, then did an ombré. My hair hasn’t felt this healthy in a really long time. I trust her 100% with my hair and I will stick with her from now on.

Michelle is the best! She gave me the ombré I had always wanted! Her haircuts are also amazing. She always knows how to add that touch that compliments the final look! She’s so friendly and accommodating. One of the best for sure!

Michelle Ferreira has an amazing talent for hair. I was searching for someone to correct my terrible ombré and she not only corrected it but delivered a color I exactly wanted. Michelle Ferreira is a hair God! She is truly a talented stylist that is extremely knowledgeable in hair color. I have gone to top salons in NY and never loved it 100% from day one. I’ve always had to tweak a little here and there or wait 2 weeks to love it. Aside from her talent she’s very sweet and personable. Michelle Ferreira is amazing. She gave me color like I’ve never experienced before. What I loved was that she made suggestions and was always on the mark. She has a true passion for color. She’s not chatty like so many other rock star haircutters. I appreciated her focus and expertise. Truly an artist, I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting their hair done RIGHT. Gerry is amazing! The best salon I have been to! I am very picky about my cut and color and Gerry knows exactly what to do! I used to leave salons in tears and have to redo my hair when I got home… not anymore! I highly recommend Hudson Square Salon.

I am so glad I did my research about who to go to for a professional ombré! Michelle did an amazing job on my already (at-​home) ombred hair and I would definitely go to her again for a cut or coloring. Highly recommend Michelle for an ombré or any coloring you want to get done. In loove with my new ombré! :) Looks good straight, wavy, or curled.

I went to Hudson desperate to fix my hair. I had previously gone to Mad One Jacks and got a terrible cut and color. They literally butchered my hair into a shaggy, high maintenance mullet that I detested.
Michelle gave me the most incredible ombré EVER. She then blew out my hair and fixed up my bad haircut. This girl knows exactly what she is doing. I will never go to anyone else — I’ve gotten my hair done at Caru and other salons in Hoboken — but now I will only go to Michelle.
Ladies, if you’re looking for an amazing ombré, then I highly recommend Michelle!

Gerry is the best. I used to live upstairs from this salon and at first went here because it was convenient, but continued to go because Gerry did an excellent job every time. The only drawback is that they are a little pricey for a simple men’s haircut. However, there is no questioning the quality and professionalism of Hudson Square Salon. If you want a $ 10 haircut, go to Supercuts. If you want your hair cut by a pro, go to Gerry!

Hudson Square Salon is my go to salon in Hoboken after trying at least 10 others. I tried the most expensive salons in town and some of the mid ranges. Nothing compares to HSS, for highlights especially. The salon is super clean and well lit.
I always go to Gerry. He is amazing at what he does and used to travel around the country teaching color. He is easy to talk to and very accommodating. He even went down the street to get me a sandwich while my color processed!
